Dearest Carolina

I am truly sorry for leaving abruptly. I thought it would be better if I didn't, considering how I was treated by your husband upon my previous visit. You must have gotten in trouble too for letting your 'perverse' little brother into his 'Sanctum Sanctorum'. I had taken an oath to not associate myself with you after seeing how much distress that incident had caused you. And Linnie, you even lied through your teeth about it to make me feel better. It's a pity that I'm not blind. You know, dear Sister, you've been the only one to accept me for who I am. You even went as far as lying to Papa for my sake. I think I at the very least owe you a proper goodbye before I tuck my tail between my legs and leave.
I'm in the best of my health. Not really. A little sea sick. Can you blame me? I've never been to sea. And I don't think I'll ever get used to it. How have you been? How is Lidya? She had left one of her expensive pins at my place the last she visited. A real forgetful one, isn't she? Like mother like daughter. Not to worry. I had it attached with this letter. Do tell her that her uncle specifically asked for her to take care of her belongings.
I had also attached a little something for my big sister from one Ms. Jane from the house of Rosedore. You might remember her as the young girl that was excommunicated by her family for humiliating all the men who asked for her hand and for being a witch. She is a full professor at the University of Stanford. And a frequent traveler at the Grant James. She hasn't changed one bit. You should see the look on some of the sailors faces when they see a woman in pants. I didn't know you an Jane were close as children. You must tell me all about it. She asked me to pass this message along.

Was that some kind of cryptic code? Forgive me, I didn't mean to pry. All of this is making me awfully curious. Feel free to ignore my question.

As for me, I feel like I've found my place. Well, I still don't think I'll get used to being tossed around at sea. The merry crew is alla lonely cartographer could ask for. And, I think I might've have found someone like me. How else am I supposed to interpret a flustered comment about my rear from a handsome looking sailor? Oh Linnie, you have to see him with his sun kissed skin and huge arms and his droopy eyes. Maybe you'll see him. Maybe I'll bring him around.

I hope to hear from soon. How is everything at home? How is father? How is your boutique? I've jotted my address down below. I will be eagerly waiting for your reply. Please do write to me Linnie. I miss you so much.

Send the letter through the Lenoway post. It is cheaper and faster.

I am really enjoying this story written as a letter. There is a lot of things happening that is slowly being revealed, letting us starting to piece information together but leaving out enough to make us keep guessing what is going on.

I love the emotional dynamic you put in the first paragraph. I hope to learn from you in my future writing! Please do your best!

Hello~
I'm Lili Manjosh. So I recently moved in with my grandma for the summer. And the weirdest thing happened. It always does at grandma's place. I've been finding random letters all over the place. The address doesn't make any sense. I tried making sense of the world to where they've been addressed from the contents. But hey!? What better way to figure out the mystery then to post it on the internet?

So here it is... The Sunken Letters
