“Argh…”

A sharp ringing pierced his ears and strong light blinded him as Louise slowly opened his eyes. When his hearing finally came back, the sound of a girl bickering like a dog who wouldn't shut up filled the square white room he was in. He glances to see Mark who is sitting beside him who is also tied to the chair.

“You motherfucker let me out!” Jade wiggled the chair trying to free herself, “Why do you make mine so tight while those fucker ropes look damn lose it can easily fall off like your damn hair” 

Mark and Louise stare at her silently, anticipating her next words. She gave a dagger eye at a guard, “Why do you like a girl being tied up so tight? That turns you on huh?!?” One of the guards jolts her chair causing her to accidentally bite her tongue. He tells her to shut up before he tapes her mouth, should've done that in the first place. Louise looks at Mark “how long has she been rambling?”

Mark shrugged in response “when I woke up she was already wide awake, felt like this had been going on for half an hour..” Mark looks like half of his lifespan has been sucked out. 

Louise observes the room, ‘we are tied up in this room, two guards between me and Mark and another two guards between her. Judging from the look on the guard beside me and Mark, they look more cautious of her than us.’ After looking around his attention goes back to Jade who is still having a one-sided argument with the guards. 

“The fuck you looking at you phony face” Louise look at Jade's scowling face then thought to himself, ‘ah, she's probably talking about Mark,’ he swayed his attention to Mark who is looking very bored. “Ah no worries, just sightseeing…go on” Mark’s annoying smile tick her nerves even more.

Jade gives a scowling face, “You think you look so good looking huh? I bet raccoons that are digging in the trash right now look much more pleasing than you eye sore”. Mark got puzzled by her blunt words and inevitably swore in confusion. After that, Mark fully ignores her existence and she goes back to harassing the guards. 

Louise sees a knife strapped to the guard's thigh. As he notices how the guards' attention is on Jade, he slowly slides his hand to the knife. Since the rope which tied him is quite loose, it’s easy for him to move his arm. Mark, who notices what Louise is trying to do, engages in a conversation with Jade;

“You know this isn't so bad” Mark caught Jade's attention. She weirdly looked at Mark's face, “What are you saying?”

“Come one~ isn't this so romantic? You and me with a bunch of nobodies!” Mark laughs even more, “It's like a date”. Jade, disgusted by Mark's last words, gives him a dirty look. “Shut your mouth you rag, you're not that special and why are you looking like a—“

While the two idiots were busy bickering, Louise successfully grabbed the knife. He quietly unties his hands before striking his elbow to the guard's sides, followed by Mark headbutting their head and Jade kicking both of their nuts. After Louise unties Mark's ropes, both of them give all the unconscious guards a fist to the abdomen.

“Oi~ let me out too,” Jade cutely wigged her legs. 

Both of the guys look at each other before turning to her, “and why should we do that?”

She pouts “that's not nice of you wanker”

“Says you…”, Louise muttered while looking around. Mark put his arm on his hip, releasing a heavy sigh "this girl…"

She clicked her tongue “look I can help you guys, I know this place well”

“So you’re saying you got arrested often?” Said, Mark.

“Shut up and listen” Jade thought about something hard, her forehead became all wrinkly while the guys waited silently, looking at her furrowed brows. After staring at the floor, she brought her head up, “I think down the hallway is the security room”

“Ya think?” Mark, unsure about Jade's words, looks at Louise. Louise gives Mark the usual stoic look and a shrug, he asks Jade; 

“Do you remember where it is?”

Jade gives him an unsure look “well… I can if I know which floor this room is on, the security room is on the ground floor” 

“How about exit? Do you remember where all the exits are?”

"Well…there isn’t a lot of doors in the first place, plus all the exit especially the main entrance are heavily guarded”

“no shit, it's the main entrance,” Louise looks at Mark for his opinion “what do you think?”

Mark contemplate for a few seconds, and he finally decided, “we should go to the security room and scout our exit from there”

Louise shrugs, “sounds like a plan”. He unties Jade's hand, revealing bruises from the rope. Mark rummage through all the guards' pockets and found a key, he open the door and look at Jade, and said;

“lead the way”

A slight door gap created by Jade to peak and scan the hallway for a clear route. Mark who has been standing there decides to tease her, “Make yourself useful”

“Shut up I'm trying,” she hisses with a glare.

He laughs while Louise is behind him with his arm crossed, waiting for Jade's next moves. After she gets out of the room, the two boys silently follow behind. With a quiet but fast pace, they make their way to the security room. While walking in a long hallway, they hear footsteps right around the corner. 

“Psst…”

Mark and Jade turn their heads and see Louise open a door which seemed to be a storage room, they hurriedly hide inside and wait for the guard to pass by. When trying to create a space between those two guys, Jade accidentally kicked something which makes a clinky noise, ‘fuck…’ she swore in her mind. Everything went quiet, and shadows appeared under the door getting bigger indicating someone walking toward the door. 

Even in that dark room, Mark manages to see Louise’s face staring at him, he gives a signal to Mark to open the door which Mark replies with a nod. Just as Mark opens the door, they both grab the guards inside the room and knock them out, Jade quickly closes the door before any witnesses see them. They took their guns while Jade got a simple knife and headed to the security room. 

After a few steps, they finally arrive in front of the door labelled ‘security room’, Mark keeps an eye out while Jade and Louise bust in and knock all the people inside using weapons or slicing to the neck. Mark barricades the door with a shelf and chairs, "it won't completely block people from entering but it will give us some time to make a move" he said. 

Louise and Jade looked at the screens, scouting for a way out;

“How about there?” Jade points to a small, secluded door on the screens but Louise doesn't think it's a good idea, "Do you actually know where that door leads?”

“Well…not really”

“Show me which door you know where they lead out to”

She points to a big door which seems to be the main entry, leading out to the foyer, two doors on the west side of the building which lead to the staff parking area, a door that leads to the back area but is far from where they are and the last door on the east side of the building leaving out to the road which is connected from the parking lot to the main road. She says; 

“This building has three floors, the nearest staircase from here is at the front of the building, it's risky to go to the stairs at the back because that's where staff and cooks usually hang out and rest. This clinic isn't that big so it doesn't have much staff but getting caught by them will lower our chance of escaping for sure”

“Yeah, the more time we get the better it is”, Mark butts in while rummaging through all the guards belonging and storing a bunch of guns and weapons in a bag. 

‘It's a pretty big clinic and doesn't have a lot of cameras, I wonder how we didn’t get caught while we sneak here’, Louise looked at the unconscious bodies laying on the ground ‘were they slacking off or…’ He then realised something, he looked at the screen and what made him shocked was that there were no cameras overlooking the room they got locked in. Not only that, the cameras are angled at a certain point where they leave a bunch of blindspots, making it easy for people to avoid the cameras. He looks at Jade; “Did you know?”

Her face looked bored while balancing herself on the table with her hands, eyes glued to the monitors, “About the cameras? Even from the outside, you can clearly see that they were poorly placed” 

“What's the motive?" Louise looked again at the screens, ‘I thought this was just a simple clinic, didn't expect it would be shady as hell, but then again we got shot by tranquillisers and all the guards are carrying guns. This place seems like a facade hiding something ugly behind.’

Jade secretly look at Louise’s frown face, she open her mouth; 

“If you're gonna ask why I don't know either…”
