~ Sarah Red-Wind ~
Year G0384 - Month 1 - Day 3
The Gold Village
"What do you mean? Take her away? She's only a child!" An angered red haired woman nearly shouted in fury.
"That's the reason, she is only a child. If the crown is to get a hold of her, they will without a doubt seek to kill her." A man responded, holding the hand of another woman who was in tears.
"Rashtel is right my friend, my child needs to be safe. If the crown finds her... they will use her to secure their own position. You know how power brings out the worst of greed, in everyone," The tearful woman said with a shaky voice.
"Samantha, are you sure about this? Your child is only 2 years old, she's not going to understand any of this," The red-head tried to argue again, her stubbornness still persisting.
"Maybe not yet, but she will understand when she gets older. Sarah, you are the only one that we can trust with this," Rashtel responded slowly.
Sarah went silent, staring at the couple with a deep frown across her face. She knew that all they said was true. Just as she knew as soon as someone found out about her there would be blood spilled. Clenching her fists she looked up between the couple once again and slowly nodded reluctantly.
"I understand... But that doesn't mean I like any of this," Sarah muttered.
"Of course, none of us like this Sarah. I hate this... this war, this bloodshed, and this separation. However we have to protect our family, even though it's through these dreadful means," Samantha cupped her friends face in her hand and gave her a shaky smile.
Sarah stared at her for the longest time, as she stared at the friend that had been by her side for the longest time. Always standing up for her and protecting her, doing everything in her power to protect her with all that she had. Slowly she looked down at the ground with clenched fists and gritted her teeth.
"I'll do it, to protect the child," Sarah said with a harshness in her tone.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. I owe you everything my darling friend!" Samantha said as she engulfed Sarah in a hug.
Sarah slowly nodded, as she looked between the two parents with sorrowful eyes. There was not much time before it all began and yet she still found herself hesitating from actually leaving with the child. Of course she knew that it was their only choice now though.
"We will follow but we need time right now. I'm so sorry to put this pressure onto you," Rashtel spoke calmly and sternly as he always had.
"I understand, make sure you don't fall too far behind though. You're daughter will not take this kindly," Sarah sighed heavily.
"We know."
