The last thing I remember was the scorching hot metal under my feet and the screaming of the other two passengers with me. Then the unusually excited face of that one girl who was put in here with us prisoners. She had something about her that I could not quite put my finger on, but the excitement on her face completely threw me off. Then I was lying on top of the ruble of the tiny spacecraft we flew over here in, wherever this is.
I looked around to find that there was a vibrant green all over the ground, and the air was filled with white clouds that tickled my lungs. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Such beauty did not even exist inside the bubble back on my home planet. I pulled myself off of the rubble and started to walk in a direction. I had no clue where I was going, yet my feet led me there despite the growing pain that I had from my side.
I walked for a long while before I came across a beautiful red building. It was a glorious sight to see. It was absolutely nothing like the incredibly small and metallic cell that I used to live in. I walked around the building to find myself knocking on what I assumed was the entrance. I was confronted with a small face, and tiny body as a child came to the door.
“Mommy!” she yelled. “There is someone at the door.”
“Why did you open it? I told you never to open the door yourself. Wait for-” the woman stopped herself when she saw me. “Heavens! What happened to you? You’re bleeding so much.”
“Yes, ma’am… I had a bit of a… accident.”
“Well, come in this instant!”
I looked at the woman, a little shocked. She is letting me into her home without even knowing who I am? Why would anyone in their right mind do such a thing? I was then led through several hallways only to find myself face to face with the biggest room I had ever seen, and not only that but it was filled from wall to wall with beds full of people.
“You are a lucky man.” The woman said. “My husband and I run this hospital. I can take care of you right here.” The woman pointed to a pristine white bed, and I slowly sat down on it. I could feel myself sink into it, I laid back, and it was so comfortable I could cry. Something about the room, the bed, and the woman were… unearthly.
