“Guys attention please! Our star of the evening has arrived. The Jay Roy is here!” A classmate of his batch announced Jay’s entry.
Hearing about his arrival everyone present in the room flocked around him. Every person present there was giving him a lot of importance but his eyes were searching for someone else. The person he was searching for was not in that crowd or anywhere near him.
“Woah! It’s been 10 years and just look at him.”
“Exactly! He has changed a lot.”
“Who knew that the boy who always used to sit in the corner of the class, kept quiet and silent, he would become so friendly. The one who was expressionless, look at him now.”
There were many compliments for him around the hall. Every single person who was present there was commenting on his change, handsomeness, style, and success. He was the center of attraction that evening, being surrounded by everyone, especially ladies.
Jay could hear everyone except the voice he was searching for. He greeted his friends and the party moved on. Real mood was set when Jay took the lead and picked the mic and sang a song in his melodious voice. He sang a song which reminded them of their youth, old memories and their school days. After him one-by-one others started to show their talents, which were buried somewhere down under the pressure of their adulthood.
During the party, Jay searched really hard but could not find Muskan. When he asked his friends he came to know that Muskan never attended any of their reunions after graduation. He was disappointed to hear this news. He found some ray of hope when he saw Karina at the party. Muskan’s best friend.
"Hi Karina!"
"Hi Jay! You look great after all these years. You’ve changed a lot. " Karina threw a taunt on him.
Jay and Karina were in bad blood with each other since their early school days. They would nag and ignore each other because one was a serious topper, who would always show off this knowledge and the other was an average student. Things were so bad that they would prefer not to see each other’s face ever in their life. But Muskan became their bridge to gap their differences and brought them in talking terms.
"Yes. That’s true. I don’t want to admit but you too look a little civilized now.” Even he didn’t miss a chance to get back at her.
Kareena was looking at Jai with a gaze as if he was some escaped convict. Well, in a way, he was no less than a culprit to her. Because she was bound by the promise given to her friend, Kareena was not able to openly express her resentment for him.
Jai was clearly able to sense her anger and resentment towards him. He had no courage to speak up to this because he knew that her anger was justified in some way.
After talking for some time here and there, Jai finally asked her the question for which he had come there.
"How's Muskan?"
