“Nothing… the first thing I saw at the dawn of my existence was nothing. I was floating in nothingness for as far as any observatory organ can see.” Said Void blankly as she stared at the stars above.
“This was the start of a very long set of events that led to me becoming who I am today.” she continued, a painful expression accompanying her words.
“Sorry Izuki, I’ll be having you share my burden. Can you keep a secret?” she said smiling weakly at him.
He stared deep into her eyes, there was no more of that malice she constantly exuberated. This was just a woman, broken, looking for someone to share her pain with. Time almost seemed to slow around them as he took another sip of tea. He wasn’t sure if she should be telling someone like him something this personal.
It’s not that he wanted to reject her when she opened up to him, it’s just that she broke too easily. Or so he thought, for a mere mortal such as him could never possibly understand the pain that Void had gone through. He had just been told he was dead after all.
‘Well, listening to her for a bit. can't hurt’ He concluded
“Ok then, I’ll hear you out. I’m not in a rush anyways.” He said cheerfully
“After floating through that endlessness, I saw a bright light. It was hot. Very hot. But what did "hot" mean? I didn’t know what words were at the time.”
“The light kept growing. It was beautiful. I stared at it for what seemed like an eternity. Just floating there watching. But eventually, the light began to fade, and it disappeared.” She said with a somewhat solemn expression.
Izuki was quiet.
“I longed after the light. I wanted its company. I was angry. I was sad. Why did it leave me? All alone, in this darkness again,” she lamented.
“Then I thought. Fuck that light. I’ll just make my own.” She said pouting.
‘Wait, don’t tell me…’ Izuki thought. But his line of thought was interrupted when she stated.
“And that’s when I made the multi-verse.” She said with a smile.
“… What?” Izuki managed to say, the disbelief on his face was apparent
“I made the multiverse. The Universe that the earth is- “
“How?!!” he said as his eyes twinkled with excitement.
“Huh?! W-what is it?” She said flustered at his sudden change in tone.
“Wait, if you made the multi-verse that essentially makes you a God. This means that all major systems as to the workings of life, death, and all the other sub-systems such as atomic reactivity and others are all creations of your hands. Or mind? I need more details.” He rambled
“Umm, Izuki?”
“Then that must mean you have both existed in a place that has no past or future so the concept of time is completely alien to you. It’s been millions of years since our world was conceived. Our solar system itself is already a spec in the grand scheme of the cosmos. What a blow to the face that the big bang who we thought was the father that kick-started the concept of existence and time had a mother that kick-started him.” He continued.
“Izuki?” she asked.
“Wait, then if you were around since the beginning that means that you are older than time itself. Old hag does not even begin to cover how old you are. Like you birthed time. You are older than Age!!” he said excitedly at the prospect of meeting the beginning of everything he knew.
“Older than time you say?” said Void seething with rage.
“Old hag, huh?” she growled as Void energy began to gather around her fist.
‘Oh, shit. I’m fucked.’ Izuki thought as he slowly turned around. No, wait. That’ll kill me. I have to think of a way to calm her down. Think quick.
“WHAT? DON’T YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY TO THIS OLD HAG?!!” she said as she got up from her chair. A nearby planet disintegrated into nothingness as she did so.
Izuki's brain was in overdrive. Then it hit him.
“Yes. To think that, you have lived this long and still look this stunning.” He said in a romantic voice.
Secret skill: Voice of Cupid.
He lovingly caressed her chin as he looked her straight in the eyes. “You must have been through a lot. But you still stand strong. I like strong women.” He said with a charming smile.
“W-w-what are you s-saying all of a sudden? I-I’m not all that great.” She replied weakly, her face turning a bright red.
His
face seemed to get even more handsome with each word.
AUTHORS NOTE: WHO TF IS THIS?
“Hmph, what a boorish thing to say. To think that out of all the stars you created. You shine the brightest milady.” He said as he closed the distance between them.
“I-idiot. Don’t just go around saying that stuff, or I’ll f-fall for you. You don’t want that do you?” She said as she looked away shyly.
‘Yes. Time to finish her off.’ He thought.
“I doubt your love is something I won’t want. Since you have captured my heart already. Void.” He said as he pulled her face closer.
“Izuki…”
“Void…”
She
closed her eyes and went in for a kiss, but Izuki couldn’t take it anymore.
“P-pfft. Puhahahaha!!! You’re such an innocent maiden.” He said laughing. “What are you doing?”
Void opened her eyes to see Izuki’s smug face and realized how stupid she looked pouting at him. She turned red out of embarrassment.
“How dare you make fun of me…” she squeaked. She tried to act mature but Izuki’s constant taunts just made her face even redder with embarrassment.
“Hahahaha. Wow, you still have the strength to try and act tough even with your face like that?” Izuki’s ribs hurt. He had never laughed so much in his life.
He HAD never laughed so much in his life. Izuki paused. Why was it only when he was dead he was laughing?
"Why was I laughing?" he muttered silently.
Void noticed this and turned to look at Izuki. He had a horrified look on his face.
‘Wait, what happened?’ she thought worried. They were laughing together just a moment ago.
“I-Izuki?” she said as she started walking towards him slowly.
Meanwhile, Izuki was in a completely different world.
‘I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I’ve never laughed so much in my life. Why did I laugh? I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I’ve never laughed so much in my life. What are you doing?’ he thought.
“What are you doing? You Imbecile. You disgusting piece of shit. Shut the hell up. How dare you laugh, how dare you smile, how dare you exist. Why did you laugh? Why were you born? Why do you exist?” said a random voice.
“I’m sorry.” He said with a traumatized look on his face.
“You dare to seek forgiveness? Don’t you know your place? You piece of trash. Happiness, smiles, friends, love? Shut up! Scum like you doesn’t even get to feel anything. Now wipe that look off your face and look at me.” Said the voice.
Izuki slowly looked up. He knew who was talking to him. This wasn’t the first, second, or sixth time. He wished it’d just disappear. This demon that had tortured him for his whole life still won’t let him rest in his death.
“I said look at me you pig!!” the voice yelled at him.
Izuki looked up. His eyes were expressionless. He met eyes with the voice’s owner. The owner looked back. It was nothing new. Like looking in a mirror. No surprise there. It was him after all. He laughed. His double laughed back. Before both simultaneously switching their bland faces once more. Facing each other they said together.
“I am my demon.”
“What does that mean?” said Void breaking his trance-like state. Izuki slowly turned to look at Void his face expressionless once more.
“Who is your demon?” she said scared, his eyes, his face… this wasn’t the same guy wasn’t the same person she was talking to a few seconds ago.
“Whatever do you mean? Void.” Said Izuki with a straight face. His pupils were black and empty.
Void backed off slowly. She had only ever seen this once. This wasn’t just split personality disorder. Two separate souls are living in one body. It’s a phenomenon that had a 1 in 100 billionth percent chance of happening. Commonly called “Soul Surge”.
“Who are you? And why have you inhabited this mortal’s body?” she said calmly. Her aura showed no signs of calm though as a nearby star system imploded after being grazed by it.
“And who are you to ask me for Identification?” replied the unknown soul a Vacuum forming around him.
‘A mortal making use of cosmic energy? Impossible! This breaks at least thirty intergalactic laws, and 2 core laws.’ thought Void.
“This is awesome. Look at this soul’s potential. I thought he was pretty good even as a human but he’s even better as a vessel.” Said the being inside Izuki.
“I’ll have you return that body” stated void, a shadow starting to swirl at her feet. She wasn’t frowning but wasn’t smiling either.
“We’ll see.” Said Izuki’s double as he started to form a gravity anomaly. “I’ll crush you till there’s not even an atom of you left.”.
