*Please note that Leith is being misgendered and remember that the others don't know even if it seems like yes because Kenton knows. All the other reasons aren't valid to misgender someone.*
16-Caught in the act
Leith's pov
In the end, I decided to use Cade's idea. I know that it's already past 6 pm but I miss my boyfriend alright?
It's already completely dark outside. I swear I hate it when it's that dark outside so early. I don't even want to imagine how the states up north are dealing with that much snow and complete utter darkness when it comes to dinner.
Now it's awkward because Kenton actually said yes to come...and he's here now. I really don't know why it's so awkward between us. Why are we acting like that when we are dating? Sometimes I like to think I overthink but I'm not sure I am through. It's scary to know that.
"Leith?"
Oh crap, I forgot he was really there. Ugh, I'm always distracted by my own thoughts.
"Yeah?"
"Nothing. Sorry, you weren't paying me mind..."
"No, don't be sorry. I was the one so distracted by my own thoughts."
"Your thoughts? Is it something about me?" He asks curiousness written all over his face.
"Oh uh...in a way yes?" I ask confused by my answer and he smiles.
"Well, that's a good thing because I think of you a lot."
"You do?" I ask surprised by his answer.
"Yeah" He smiles and then he comes closer to me, just to hug me.
"I missed you, Leith." He says through the hug.
"Me too"
Even if he is hugging tightly like a boyfriend should do, I can't help but go back to my thoughts.
What worries me, is that I still don't how my parents haven't noticed that Kenton is in the house. I don't know what Cade did but he's done a hell of a good job so far.
Normally my parents would've definitely known he would be here. Through, I think Cade is outside with Mom and Dad but I'm not too sure.
"Hey, why are you looking at your window?"
Oh...I didn't realize I started looking at the window...I'm so into my thoughts it's crazy...I keep forgetting my very own boyfriend is finally there with me.
"Oh, I just want to know if Cade is outside with my parents or not. He promised me to do something regarding our parents so you could come here."
"Right...It's that bad huh? Through, you really have to introduce me to him."
"Um, fun fact he's actually in our school."
"Wait what?"
"Yeah, well I never hang out with him and he doesn't either so..."
"So you're saying he's in our school. Wow, all this time I was sure he was going to another school."
"Well sorry to break it to ya."
"But why did you only tell me that now? School started more than 4 months ago and I never saw him."
"Well...like I said we just never hang out together. We actually never talk to one other."
"Why trough? You guys seem to have a good relationship?"
"Well...he says he doesn't want to bother my friends. He wants me to have my own privacy."
"Nonsense! You should tell him that we don't mind hanging out with him!"
"Sure you'll tell him that. Besides he's mostly occupied to study and read books most of the time so he doesn't have time to hang out with us."
"Hm, he needs to have a social life trough."
"He does, he does. He told me earlier that he has friends but I don't who through."
"Oh...wait does he know about me?"
"Well...he knows since earlier."
"How come you never told him about us before? Wait is he homophobic sh*t like your parents?!"
"No, no. Stop overreacting. He's not like that. He knows about the whole thing. It's just we don't tell each other everything. Normally he prefers to be alone like to read books instead of listening to drama."
"So he's a nerd?"
"What? What's wrong about it?"
"Nothing"
"Hm, enough about my brother. Let's talk about us."
"What do you mean let's talk about us?"
"I meant let's focus on us."
"Hm sure ok."
"But seriously though why didn't you invite me to your house the last few days?"
"Oh...I didn't know if you wanted to...You never told me you wanted to. I thought you would want to spend some time with your family during the holidays."
"Who said I wanted that? You're my boyfriend Kenton. Of course, I would want to see you."
"I know, I know...It's still brand new too. I guess I have to get used to this..."
"I just...why do you always assume things without consulting me first?"
"I don't know...I guess I keep trusting my experience but clearly I shouldn't."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Well, we've only been dating for less than two weeks and already things are so different."
"Compared to what? Your past relationships? Is that supposed to be a bad thing?"
"No, it's a good thing. It means that dating you is unlike everything I've ever encountered. Don't get me wrong, I like new situations and trying out new things. That's exactly what this relationship is about." Huh, I can't know if I feel hurt but that or not.
"Is it because I'm non-binary? Is everything new because of that?"
"Well, yeah...but not it's only that..."
"Ok, then how come you so desperately want to treat me differently from your exes, actually how come you already do?"
"How can you know how I treated my past flings?"
"Well Kenton, I don't know if you forgot but you're real popular. You like showing the entire school about your personal business. So yeah, that includes your new interests and flings."
"Hey, that's not true!"
"What? I know you aren't afraid to show people who you're dating. You basically said so yourself the other day."
"Seriously are you confronting me because you don't like to be public? We can go back to being secret you know." Kenton says more harshly and that makes me offended but I don't mention it.
"No, it's not about that."
"Oh, whatever forget it. I didn't come here to fight. I'm here because I miss my boyfriend. Can we leave serious conversions for another day?"
"Fine..."
Kenton comes closer to me and grabs me by my waist. He kisses my temple.
I thought he would hug me or take my hands in his hands, what a surprise. Kenton is unpredictable.
"I seriously missed you."
Gosh, so many I miss you. I guess I did miss him too even if I love having my space sometimes.
At the end of the day, he's still my boyfriend, Kenton Miller of all people. I better cherish the moment and stop being held up in my thoughts.
"Me too"
We kiss for a brief moment then we stop.
"You know that you're beautiful, right?"
"Oh stop it, you're the one that's hot," I say slightly embarrassed by his cheesy words.
"Oh, so you think I'm hot?" He wiggles his eyebrows.
"Who doesn't?"
"Stop mentioning the others and focus on me." He says as he taps my temple with his finger.
Gosh, I can feel his breath on me. He's that close. I start giggling.
"What? What's funny?"
"I don't know your breath tickles."
"Oh, so you think my breath tickles. I'll make sure it doesn't tickle anymore."
He closes the gap between us.
Why does this feel so good? I don't think we've gone that far before.
I mean, it's the first time we are alone in a bedroom since we started dating so it makes sense but seriously I don't care about stats right now.
He applies more pressure to the kiss and in response I open my mouth a bit. He starts tasting my tongue and in response, he starts moving his tongue and I do too. Our saliva gets exchanged as our breath gets hotter by the second.
Is this what it feels like to be really kissing Kenton? Normally he's all gentle but he surely isn't now. I'm enjoying myself quite a lot...
Then I hear the door open.
"Oh crap sorry!"
We immediately stopped kissing and noticed it was Cade who saw us. Thank god, I was scared for a second there. I was sure that it might be Mom or I don't know worse, Dad. That would be the end for me.
"Who saw us?" Kenton says slightly anxious.
"Chill, it was my brother. I doubt though that he won't be traumatized for life."
"Yeah, we definitely traumatized him. Why did he come to your room?"
"I don't know, stay here, I'll go see what he wants."
"Ok"
I leave my room and walk in the direction of Cade's bedroom. Lucky us his room is next to mine. Well lucky me he's in his room it seems like and I see no sight of my parents or Mia, my sister.
"Hey, can I come in?"
"Yeah..."
"Do you need me or?"
"Well...I just wanted to go introduce myself to Kenton."
"Oh...sorry you had to see that...Next time you should probably knock." I say awkwardly.
"Yeah...maybe I should know but no, I'm fine. Through, Mom and Dad are distracted for now but they won't be for long though."
"Thanks for that." I smile.
"Yeah...You really are lucky to lend yourself a guy like that you know?"
"Jealous much?"
"Nah, not at all. He's all yours."
"Hm so since you're not jealous of me then this might mean you have a girlfriend."
"What? No way! Girls are too much to handle."
"Sure if you say so. It's a shame I can't show Kenton the entire house."
"You can trough."
"Wait how? Wait where are Mom and Dad?"
"Well Dad is outside making a fire and I convinced Mom to go shopping for a bit with Mia. Though, I'm sure Dad won't notice a thing."
"You really are a genius, Cade!" I say relieved.
"Thanks..."
"So do you want to tag along or?"
"Why not?"
"Woah, I really must be dreaming. This is so rare of you to actually want to do something else than read a book."
"Well, I have nothing better to do so..."
"Ok, ok let's go. I'm sure Kenton will be happy to know that. We had this entire conversation about you earlier, it was ridiculous."
"Really? You shouldn't have to talk about me."
"No, it's fine. Besides Kenton was the one interested in you."
"Why?"
"I don't know? He's always curious about everything."
"Hm, I'm not interesting per se, but if you say so, it's fine."
We leave Cade's room and enter my room.
"Hey, what took you so long...? Oh hey." He smiles as he notices Cade.
"Hi..."
"That's Cade. The guy that you're worried about not having a social life."
"Hey! I'm here you know!"
"I'm just teasing ya." Kenton smiles and Cade just partially glares at him.
"So why you're here?"
"Oh well, Leith wants to give you a tour of the house and I promised to tag along."
"Oh ok"
"Before you ask, my Dad is outside and my Mom went shopping with my little sister Mia. It's all part of Cade's master plan."
"Wow, so you're really as bright as Leith makes you out to be."
"Yeah.."
It's obvious Cade is feeling uneasy around Kenton.
"Ok let's go."
"Ok,"
We walk in the hallway.
"So this is Cade's room I'm sure you saw it earlier."
"Yeah, damn how the hell do you have that many books?!"
"Oh, uh, I like to read that's all."
"OK, enough about that. There's the bathroom over there, to the right."
"Ohhh, it's kinda pretty in here."
"Don't pretend you're impressed."
"But I really am."
"Sure"
"This room over here is my parents' room but we won't go in there."
"Wow, it looks so spacey. Are you rich perhaps Leith and you haven't told me?" I roll my eyes.
"Stop being a jerk."
"I'm a jerk now? That's new."
"Yes, you are. Anyways this room next to my parents is Mia's."
"Oh wow, you're sister really likes pink..."
"I'm pretty much convinced that it's not true but rather a facade. You know how my parents are so...yeah. One day she'll be a little bit more like Cade and I."
Geez, Cade really is quiet. It almost seems like he's not next to us.
"We'll that's all for upstairs. You saw most of downstairs but I'll show you anyways."
"Ok"
—————-
We have now almost all toured my house. I swear Cade is quieter than earlier. Why does he need to be like that around Kenton? I know he's not the most social guy even less than me but no need to be shy around my boyfriend, right?
"Hey...um, I just saw mom's car...."
"Oh crap, we need to go upstairs."
"Yeah, we should.."
We all try to go upstairs as fast as we can before Mom sees us. As we just arrived upstairs, we heard my mom open the door. Oh gosh, we almost didn't make it.
"Are things always that way in your house?"
"Well not all the time but sometimes yes?"
"Now I get why you are so afraid of people knowing about us.."
"Liam, Cade?! I'm home!"
"Ok!" We both yell back.
It doesn't take long to hear someone coming upstairs. Oh sh*t! We need to hide in my room. We don't even have time to get in my room that we realize, it's Mia but we do close the door in time.
"Cade! Look what Mom got me!"
"Oh wow, a new dress. How pretty..."
"Pretty right? Where's Liam?"
"Oh, his in his room bu..." Mia opens the door.
"Hey, Liam! Wait...who's this? That's not Matthew or Sarah?"
"Oh uh..."
"Who are you?"
"Oh uh...I'm Kenton."
"Oh, how come I never heard about him before?"
"Oh uh," Cade comes in.
"Stop bothering Liam. He's with his friend you see."
"Oh yeah...sorry. I'm Mia trough!"
"Nice to meet you."
"Don't tell mom and dad," I say in a serious tone.
"Why? What's wrong? I thought Mom and Dad knew he was here?"
"Well about that..."
"Just don't tell Mom and Dad," I say dead seriously.
"Ok, ok, got it." Mia leaves to go to her room.
"Now that was terrifying. I hope she won't tell mom or dad."
"I wouldn't count on that trough."
"Yeah.."
"Why would she tell her parents? You basically told her not to so she won't do it simple as that."
"Well easy for you to say. Mia doesn't really listen to us. She listens to everything mom and dad have to say."
"Oh..."
"I'll try to block Mom from coming here through."
"Ok, thanks."
"Later,"
"Later,"
Cade goes to his room.
Now we're all alone. Now it makes me think about something...the present!
"Wait I have to get something downstairs!"
"Um, why trough?"
"You'll see."
"Mm ok,"
I leave my room and I go grab the bag I left in the living room. Luckily I don't cross paths with my mom, thus I safely go back to my room.
"I forgot I had to give you something."
"Oh?"
"Yeah here..." He looks at the movie ticket in my hand.
"Wait...you bought us movie tickets?"
"Yeah...it's Christmas in a few days and Cade said it would be a good idea to give you a gift. I thought...that those movie tickets could be a good opportunity to go on a...date." I look straight in the eyes of Kenton.
"Wow...I really didn't expect this...sh*t now you make me feel bad for not giving you a present."
"Don't be. I don't want a gift anyway."
"Nonsense, you deserve to have a gift for Christmas."
"Ok...then if you really want to gift me with something do it then..."
"Well, I don't have time to buy something but how about...do you want to go to Jack's chalet with me?"
"Woah, are you out of your mind?!"
"No, I'm not crazy, I'm serious about this. Besides the guys really want you to be there."
"Who will be there?"
"Well...Jack...Sam, Kate and I think Sam might bring Matthew."
"Wait how come Oliver is not there?"
"He's in Oklahoma with his family right now."
"Oh...wait we will be there for a how long?"
"Well, 2 or 3 days it depends on you."
"Yeah...I don't know if I can for that long. My parents won't let me."
"Forget about that, we'll find a solution."
"I don't know..."
" Just say yes."
"Ok yes."
"That's the spirit."
Then for some unknown reason, Kenton is suddenly really close to me.
"Did you know that you were the first one to give me a Christmas present?"
"Really?"
"Yeah...now where were we?"
He seals our lips together and in a matter of a few seconds we are in a full-on making-out session on my bed. Then without realizing someone opened the door. This time it's not a good thing...it's my mom...
