“C-can’t we just t-talk ab-bout this?” Georgia squeaked.
The beast let out a deep rumble. “What’s there to talk about? You came here to steal from me.”
“N-no. Not at all!”
“Then why are you here?”
“I fell.”
“And stumbled this far into my lair? I think not.”
Georgia cursed under her breath. There was no talking her way of this one. Her hand twitched over the sword’s handle. She slowly began to inch away as the dragon crawled towards her baring its gigantic teeth at her.
“Are you sure you don’t want to talk this out?”
“I don’t bargain with thieves.”
“Suit yourself, asshole!” Georgia yelled as she stabbed the sword through the dragon’s eye.
The dragon roared in pain, swinging its head side to side.
"Run! Run!" Georgia yelled out to Virgil.
"You bitch! You stupid bitch! You'll pay for this! You'll pay!"
Georgia and Virgil continued to run back towards the hole she fell from. She screamed to Drusilla and Suzu once they were in sight to start climbing up. Even though the stab brought them some time, the dragon was still on their tail. Virgil was at the top when the beast reared its ugly head. Georgia regretted all the upper body workouts she skipped as she struggled to pull herself up.
The dragon's strong jaw snapped at her, grazing her shoe. Georgia fumbled for the sword again and sliced at the bottom of its jaw. It let out a pained groan but not it wasn't enough to stop him.
"Drop down a little. We can get its throat." The sword advised.
Georgia couldn't believe that she was taking advice from a hunk of steel but loosened her grip on the rope a fraction. She kicked the dragon in the nose to get it to expose its throat better and slashed with the sword. It roared out in agony as blood sprayed on her. As it pulled back Georgia climbed out of the whole as quickly as she could.
They needed to fill the hole and get out of there as fast as they could. She commanded everyone climb on the hellhound as it threw as much treasure and dirt into the pit as it could. The dragon tried to claw its way up, but the injuries and precious metals and jewels pelted at it slowed it down too much. Satisfied that it would take some time for it to recover, Georgia and the others made their getaway.
