A knock at the door caused Castor to stop his morning routine workout. It made him more relaxed to know that they had some respect for his privacy.
“Come in!”
The Moon Prince peeked in, more food in hand than yesterday.
“Good Morning.” He beamed, placing the food down on the bed. “I wasn’t sure what you liked for breakfast, so a few things were made….”
Castor watched as the Prince was more cautious than yesterday.
“It’s safe to eat right?”
“I spent money on you, there is no way I’m gonna poison you.” He shot back.
Castor grinned, he found it funny how Nox pouted.
“Still don’t know what that makes me? Since I am now “Owned” and all…”
Nox went back to the door and leaned on the wall next to it.
“You are still bitter about that huh?” Nox shook his head. “Well if it makes you feel better, you are considered a special guest from the North. The Kingdom of the Moon is showing you hospitality.”
Castor walked towards the food, this time more eager to eat it before it grew cold.
“So then I am free to leave?”
Nox shook his head again.
“No, you are not.”
Castor took a bite out of his bread, still upset at hearing that.
“Then why do you hold me here?”
Nox sighed, he could not believe the Prince of the Sun was this thick headed.
“It’s to keep you safe.” Nox let his eyes land on the sky blue’s before him. “Someone had set you up to be captured after all.”
Castor didn’t feel hungry anymore. Nox was right. He was probably safer here in the enemy Kingdom than his own homeland.
“Right….”
“I’m sorry for not telling you yesterday…..” Nox was a little embarrassed about that. “ I was upset when you attacked me and was being petty…”
Castor finally relaxed and took a set on the bed. He found it cute how the Prince held a little grudge.
“I don’t blame, I was being an ass.” He poked at some of the food, before taking another bite. “This is good really...would you like to eat with me?”
Nox seemed to perk up a bit.
“You think the food is good?”
The Sun Prince nodded, taking another bite.
“Yeah, what is this? It’s like a pancake, but flatter?”
Nox walked over and taking a seat the bed as well.
“That’s a crepe. We have it for all kinds of meals here. My favorite used to be whipped cream and strawberries…” Nox felt like he was giving too much away on his old tastes were. “But it’s good with eggs, ham and cheese too!”
Castor was having fun with this. He pointed to another one, not sure what it was either.
“And this one, it looks more like a desert if anything…”
Nox giggled at that.
“Please don’t laugh when I tell you the name.” He watched as Castor bit into it. “It’s called a Moon Pie.”
The deadpan look he got was too funny.
“Really?” He let out a dry laugh. “Well don’t laugh at mine, but in my Kingdom we have Sun Cakes…”
Nox seemed to glow at that.
“Ah, really! That’s really cute!” He went and grabbed some food on the plate, taking a bite from it. “What does it taste like?”
Castor had to think about that for a bit.
“Like honey and soft crust.” He beamed. “It can have different flavors if you add nuts to it too.”
“Maybe I can try it one day….” The Moon Prince mused, a bit of a sad smile on that face of his showed, quickly vanshied.
A knock at the door end his pondering as he got up. The door opened and Coleman was there.
“I hate to take the Master away.” He ignored the eye roll he got from Nox. “But the Prince is needed to explain his absence to the Queen.”
Castor looked over at Nox, who was very nervous. He didn’t know what to say it seemed. He turned and bowed his head.
“I can’t leave my mother waiting. I’ll perhaps see you at lunch, if not, Coleman here will be serving it.” Nox was very stressed. He knew his mother’s rage was nothing to be trifled with. “Have a Good Morning, Prince Caster.”
“See you around Prince Nox.” He flashed a smile as he went back to eating the rest of the food on his plate. Then his own fear started to set in. His mother was going to kill him when he got back, that was a given.
“Don’t worry Master Castor. I’m sure your own mother will be happy to hear of your safety.” Coleman was a mind reader, Castor swore. “ As a matter of fact, the King sent out a Hawk last night with a letter.”
Castor was at ease to hear that.
“Thank you for telling me…” The Prince scratched his head. “As for Nox, will he be okay with the Queen?”
“Queen Terria is a sharp, what Nox did was a crime.” Coleman saw the young man’s face turn into a worried one. “Please do not worry, Master Nox will be fine. Now enjoy your meal. Come Noon another shell be here for you.”
And with that, the door was shut again.
Castor was no longer a person who was “bought”.
He was a person who was rescued and being protected.
He had new things to ponder and worry about, like Nox getting in trouble for what he did.
It left a pit in his stomach.
