Kim Tae-ri’s POV
Gahh! I’m so tired.
Da-yun, Mimi, and I are in a fast food restaurant. Before that, we walked and walked and walked for hours. Just recalling our previous activities has left me feeling exhausted. We spent at least eight hours exploring the mall. Two hours in the arcade, two hours just walking around, and four hours window shopping and looking for free cosmetic testers and food samples. Sigh.
This is the first time I sat down the whole day, I swear. I find it surprising that I’m still alive.
"I’m done ordering, guys. They’ll just bring the food to our table when it's ready."
Mimi came over to us, having left the counter. She kindly offered to place our order for us. She said she still wanted to exercise . Sigh. I have no idea what this girl eats to be that active all the time.
"BWAHAHAHA! Looks like DA-YUN and TAE-RI are both dead," Mimi joked as she sat down close to Wonjoo. When Mimi started laughing, Wonjoo did too.
The lines on Da-face yun's deepened. " You made us chase after you for hours, HOW DARE YOU?"
Me and Da-yun had no choice but to go along with Mimi and Wonjoo. They acted all unhappy and whinney in our group chat, complaining that Da-yun and I no longer loved them because we never went out with them. Which I, along with Da-yun, am guilty of. For this reason, we've decided to spend the weekend together.
BUT, MY GOSH. THIS IS SO TRAUMATIZING.
"I didn't expect you and Wonjoo to be so active, Mimi," I added.
I'm more exhausted here than at the end of my café job, hehe."
Everyone in the group started laughing out loud.
With a shrug, Mimi said, "Well, if you guys come along with us more often when we go out, your bodies will get used to doing so many things."
Da-yun and I looked at her dumbfounded.
"What? Wonjoo used to be just like you and her."
"Why me again?!?! "
Wonjoo batted his eyes at Mimi. His adorable antics made us laugh out loud.
"We have your meals ready for you."
We four were unable to contain our excitement. Yes! Really, I'm starving right now. We had a long day, after all.
Wonjoo initiated a topic of discussion regarding our possible college courses as we were wolfing down our food.
"Hey, guys. Uhm."
We gave him a glance. With a hesitating glance downward, he decided against speaking. He was clearly taking his time and barely touching his food with his fork. What happened, I wonder? Just a few minutes earlier, he was full of energy.
Mimi tapped him on the shoulder and inquired as to whether or not he was all right. He gave us a wry smile.
"Uh-huh. I am. Just curious, what are your plans for college?"
Oh. He was worrying about the future.
Sigh.
We’re really in this part of our lives already, huh? God. Now that I think about it, I can’t believe how old I am now.
"To be honest, I’m planning to enroll in DK University." Mimi was the first one to respond. "I want to be a public relations manager, ehe."
"I'll explain everything later. How about you, Wonjoo?
We waited for him to reply. To me, it seems like he's trying to figure out what to say. For some reason, his guard is up.
He paused awkwardly, "The thing is..." It took him a few seconds to get his point through.
"My dad keeps telling me I should become a system engineer. You know, the one who handles computers and stuff like that.
"Do you even like that, Wonjoo?" Da-yun questioned.
Yeah. It's not something I envision him doing professionally. He’s bad with computers! Hahaha
"Dude, what do you mean a system engineer? You don’t even know how to troubleshoot basic stuff!"
See my point? Even Mimi knows Wonjoo is bad with technology.
Wonjoo, embarrassed, put his hands over his face and shouted, "YAHH!! Why are you all teasing me~?"
He sat up straight and exhaled after whimpering. "It is true, though. That's the problem." He sighed heavily and slouched in his chair. "Wahh! I do not want to be a system engineer~~!! "
"Then, what do you want to pursue?" I asked him.
He winced. He lowered his head and was silent for a while.
