Charge, work, charge, work. An endless cycle that can't even be called a life. I never once fit in, not with the pencil-pushing androids, not with the humans. The androids are completely lifeless and the humans make sure we stay that way. After someone made the first AI everyone feared the strong possibility of a robot uprising. They make sure we stay dumb and on task. Our job is to crank a knob for the whole day. Power magic needs kinetic energy to be formed, which is what the whole city lives on. It's funny because we run on power magic and don't even get paid. We're treated worse than livestock. This can't even be called a prison, it's more like slave labor to be honest. Suddenly I hear the burly voice of my boss nagging at me.
"UNIT 4-63 GET BACK TO WORK OR I'LL HAVE YOU DISMANTLED! THIS IS YOUR LAST STRAW!" He demanded in a voice that could burst eardrums. He meant it too, the power plant has low tolerance to defects. Every Android who is sent to be dismantled has their magic destroyed, in other words our soul will be shattered and given back to the world. I went to work as fast as I could to avoid that from happening. Then I began to hallucinate again.
I saw me being taken apart and being awake for every moment of it, I was in excruciating pain. I saw a bright purple light, then nothing. When I came too I was at my charging station. I was terrified. One thing I noticed is that these hallucinations ALWAYS come true. If I hallucinate someone will make a mistake, it happens. Even if I try to prevent it, it'll still happen. I've learned to never play with fire, it's not worth it. But what could be worse than being dismantled?
I had to risk it, but what could I do? Pretend to be a model worker? No that'd not erase my past, once you get a strike you can't get rid of it, and I've gotten more than a few strikes. I only see one option, I need to run. There's an exit through the cargo hold, if I could just get there I'd be free. Once It was night I made my move, we aren't allowed to stop working during night but most humans are sleeping so this would be the best time to go. Even if an Android sees me they won't care, they're too brain dead to pay attention to anything other than work.
I left the charging station and calmly walked towards the cargo station with a crate in hand. It was empty but it helped quite a lot with my disguise. Life tip- if you look busy people usually won't question what you're busy with because they subconsciously don't want to bother you, surprisingly this works even if they hate you. It was probably unnecessary considering all the human staff was half asleep, but I'd like to be safe about it. Crate in hand I arrive in cargo where thankfully nobody is currently working, we usually make shipments during days so this is to be expected.
I carefully slipped out the door and made a run for it, only to realize the entire building was surrounded with a barbed wire fence. I panic, what should I do now? I'm trapped! Without thinking all too much I decided to climb the fence, hurt is better than dead. Androids can't die from that anyway, we can only feel pain for "Disciplinary measures". The fence was bigger than it looked so it took me terribly long to get to the top of the fence, I brace myself and feel the puncture of each. Individual. Barb. Stabbing in and out, my "skin" getting caught on the pikes. I let out a sharp hiss of pain trying not to scream. If I scream the guards will be alerted that someone is trying to escape.
Wait... Where ARE the guards? Usually they're patrolling so that there are no intruders, or escapees for that matter. It's eerily quiet, I hear only silence, I listen, and listen... Nothing. I'd be able to hear a pin drop.
*Clap* *Clap* *Clap* Then I hear a burly voice, a voice I knew all too well. My heart sinks as I realize I've been played.
"4-63. Didn't know you had it in ya! I saw what you were doing and thought it was amusing. A crate? Really? No Android is allowed NEAR those things! We can't have your filthy hands near valuable merchandise now can we?" I tried to shuffle up the fence but my waist was snagged, if I had tear ducts I would be bawling my eyes out, from both the fear and the pain. Then I saw the most terrifying thing I've ever seen my whole life. Burly was running at me full force, he jumped and grabbed me. Since my hip was still caught on the fence so when he grabbed me it took out quite the chunk out of my side.
I let out a bloodcurdling scream, I couldn't hold back anymore. I was in so much pain and my brain thought now was a good time to remind me about what's going to happen. I was about to die. Ripped to shreds and discarded, that was my fate. I began trembling from terror. Burly was definitely enjoying this, I could see the smile on his face that made me sick. Why couldn't have I been human? If I'm forced to be an Android I don't want emotions, I'd rather be a brainwashed slave than this. I don't wanna die, please god don't let me die. I'm not ready.
"We're here, Filth."
No. NONONONONONO! THIS CAN'T BE THE END, I JUST STARTED MY LIFE I'M NOT READY FOR IT TO END!
He strapped me to the table, I tried to fight back but I'm not a combat model, I can't even kill a mouse. He brings out a blade, a buzz saw to be exact. He starts at my legs chopping off bit by bit. I scream from the pain, which seems to be his goal. He appears to be doing this for his own pleasure instead of the parts.
Legs, hip, stomach. He goes as slow as possible, so I feel every single moment of it. He was cutting me as if he was peeling a potato. I could see my endoskeleton now, he kept my face intact so I could count every slice he made, one, two, three, four. He made his way to my core, and he hit it.
I saw purple, and then nothing.
