"Alright then. It should pop up soon." Onyx spoke after Rowan's declaration.

Right after, a window screen popped up in front of Rowan.

"What happens if I say no?" Rowan flung his arm through the screen. 'Wow it's like a hologram.'

"You will get more options. Salesmen, bankers, streamers etc. If you refuse them all, then you will probably get sent back to your world. But since Talis has killed you, you might get sent to float around in the void forever."

Rowan then pressed on 'yes', shivering just at the thought of that. He wasn't going to refuse anyway, but that sounded horrible.

The screen proceeded to ask for more information.

"What the heck is all this?" Rowan said, scratching his head.

"Just fill it out as I tell you." Onyx did not want to have to explain everything. He was going to leave that for later. "Use your name, first and last name, for the first question."

Rowan wrote down his full name in the slot.

'Rowan Enzo. Sure does sound like a main character's name.' Onyx watched over Rowan's shoulder and continued with his instructions.

"Next, choose the elemental choice. Sorcerer's are seen as the elemental type."

"What about this competition? What's that about?" Rowan did as he was told and they got to the last question..

Onyx looked at him with a 'you can't be serious' face.

"You don't even know what a competition is?" Onyx looked at Rowan with great pity. This ticked Rowan off and he swung his hand to slap onyx. Onyx easily dodged the attempt with a giggle.

"Shut up and just explain it to me." Rowan spoke, annoyed at the way onyx was giggling.

"I will explain only if you start calling me master from now on." With Rowan's cluelessness, Onyx thought that he might be able to blackmail him. He saw an opportunity and took it.

"Hey." Rowan grabbed Onyx by the throat.

"EEP!"

Even though onyx was in the shape of a smoke puff, he was still able to feel, talk, see, smell and hear. Rowan tightening his grip hurt just as much as it would have if he was human.

"Have you ever thought about what happens when a soul gets eaten?" Rowan smiled wickedly. "I've always wanted to try. Will the person get two souls? Will they form into one? Why don't we find out?"

He grabbed onyx by the little tail that was on top of his circular body and swung him over his mouth.

"WAIT WAIT WAIT ALRIGHT I'LL TELL YOU!" Onyx yelped. "Geez somebody doesn't know how to take a joke."

"Now listen up." He clears his throat. "You see, bwitch streamers use the starline to stream to every possible galaxy that is around and more. When they find someone interesting or reincarnate a human, they will make a contract so that the human will only be visible in their channel. All the other galaxies with fairies and ogres and witches etc watch these channels and donate to their favorite player."

"This is a rip off of twitch and youtu-"

"DON'T INTERRUPT ME!" Rowan put his hands up and backed away.

"As I was saying…" Onyx continued. "Those donations are how the economy of the planet stays up and the people get paid. It's split between the streamer, player, and headmasters. If the economy crashes, it means the people aren't entertained and the planet starts to die because that is it's whole purpose."

Talis had already explained this bit to Rowan. 'So that must be why Talis was so desperate.'

"There are different sections of the planet, like how there are different genres of novels, shows etc. Not everybody is entertained by the same thing. Right now the most anticipated event is coming up and taking place right here in district 3: The action district." Onyx kept going with his explanation as Rowan sat there listening intently. He was slowly starting to understand how this world worked.

"The competition is held every other month and is so big even those outside of the galaxies come to watch. You will enter and find yourself a good bewitch streamer so you can get your name out there. Once that happens, you will get sponsors and money. FAME AND RICHNESS HERE WE COME!" He started to get too caught up in the explanation and went off the rails.

"So this will help me get closer to number 1, right?"

"Yeah. The closer to number 1, you are the closest to getting back to earth."

"Alright then! This should be easy!" Rowan did many different sports in his last life. He was also taught martial arts, so he was highly excited about this. He quickly pressed yes and another question popped up.

"Press the unknown option. We still don't know what your Ahi could manifest into."

"Ahi? What's that?" Rowan pressed the 'unknown' choice. The window then closed up and disappeared. 'That's so cool!'

"ALRIGHT! That leads us into your first lesson." Onyx spoke up, switching to his teacher's voice. "Get into position."

…

"What position?"

"The crisscross with your hands on your knees, cmon this is basic procedure!"He forgot Rowan was someone who had never indulged in the fiction world.

Rowan got into the meditation position that onyx had explained. He took a deep breath and waited for Onyx to give his next instructions.

"When the heavenly beings created this world, they blessed it with Ahi. It is the energy that floats through PAX and the people within. Your Ahi manifestes in your soul and it is with concentration and practice that you can fully open up the gates so it flows through your whole body."

Rowan listened carefully as Onyx explained to him.

"What should Ahi feel like exactly? Like, what should I be looking for in my body?"

"For now your Ahi must be just a baby, so look for something that feels cool and fidgety. My form right now is my own Ahi core. Once you entered my body, a new one was formed for you. Ahi usually grows with the person, but as you are a human reincarnation, right now you have a baby Ahi in a full grown body."

'Alright.' Rowan thought. 'Cool and bumpy.' He focused hard and searched within his body. With each inhale he took he felt more movement within the center of his stomach. Each exhale brought a chill to his core and that's when he felt it.

"I think I found it!"

"HUH? THIS FAST!?" Onyx exclaimed in disbelief. 'It usually takes a couple hours at least! This person's concentration levels are insane! He's not even in the best place for this exercise!'

"Yea! It's located between my stomach and chest. Right in the center of my body!" Rowan was making sure to focus on the core.

"That's good! Now slowly guide it through your limbs!" Onyx was beyond excited. "Imagine unfolding it. Let it flow through your body like your blood."

Rowan did as he was told and opened up the gates just a tiny bit around the core. He guided the little Ahi that was released through his arms and legs. Finally, he started a flow to his head. He felt as if the insides of his body were jumping around. It was an addictive feeling he wanted more of.

Rowan felt thrilled and smiled as the energy flew through him. Onyx watched him from the outside and was delighted to see what was happening to Rowan's body. It had started glowing! The Ahi was now visible on his skin and it seeped out in a majestic way.

'Wow!' Onyx was just as excited as Rowan. Before, he had no hope of reaching the top after seeing how weak Rowan was. Now that he was seeing his potential up close, he gained hope once again.

"Alright, that's good! Time for lesson 2!"
