While walking through the cave, Orone reveals to Mark that the fact of him being a wanted criminal is not as unpopular, as he thought. She later starts getting curious about Mark's backstory, asking him questions to which he doesn't seem pretty interested to give a reply to. In the end, they find the monster, it seems that it has swallowed the ship fragment. Mark is ready to shoot the creature down, right before it exploding in hundreds of pieces, resulting in a blood bath for them both. The explosion was caused the creature's digestive acids dissolving the protective material surrounding the piece swallowed.
