I wasn't even goin' out tonight
But, boy, I need to get you off of my mind
I don't wanna be alone tonight
-Dancing with a Stranger by Sam Smith (and Normani)
Nine entered Club Infinity, letting the loud music and flashing lights wash over him. He looked around, rubbing his hand along the holes in his ripped jeans. When he spotted Jon, Lee, and Cassy at a booth, he went to join them.
"Hey!" Nine shouted, catching their attention.
Jon widely smiled with he saw Nine, pulling him into a hug as he squeezed his shoulder, "I knew I could make you come out tonight. I always win."
"Don't make me leave." Nine quickly retorted.
Jon waved off the threat, pulling Nine closer to Lee and Cassy, who were intimately sitting together, whispering into each other's ears. "Hey, hey, you are close enough to my sister; you two stop your secret conversation and welcome Nine for coming out."
Nine smiled at the couple's closeness, trying to ignore the bitterness in his heart. Lee and Cassy have been together the same amount as he and Quin: so why does their relationship still hold strong while Nine and Quin are dying? What are they doing wrong?
Cassy beautifully smiled as the lights hit her white teeth, making them glisten. Or it could be the nude gloss on her lips that would catch anyone's eye towards them. She was gorgeous, a perfect contrast to Lee, who was handsome but looked nerdy.
Honestly, it wasn't fair how good Jon and Cassy's genes were.
"I'm glad you can join us, Nine. Maybe the night won't be too boring." Cassy spoke.
"Hey!" Lee shouted before Jon, lightly hitting his shoulder against Cassy, "I take offense to that. I did come out for you."
Cassy laughed, grabbing Lee's cheeks, squeezing them, "I know. I am only playing."
Jon slapped Cassy's hand away, "You two stop flirting in front of me; it is gross."
Nine did not say anything, but he agreed. It was so grossly cute that he was jealous. Ugh, why couldn't he and Quin still be like this? Why couldn't Quin come out for him?
Damn, this was supposed to be a relaxing night, and he was already letting bitterness grow in his heart.
"I am going to get a drink." Nine quickly spoke as he walked away from them, making his way toward the bar. He sat down at one of the free stools, drumming his fingers along the bar as he glanced around. Because he focused on the dancing people, he didn't notice the bartender appearing until he felt soft hands slowly moving along his fingers, causing him to shiver.
Nine flinched as the goosebumps washed over him. He pulled his hand back, looking towards the person who touched him. When Nine glanced at the person, his breath hitched as his heart began beating like crazy. Honestly, he forgot how to breathe as everything seemed to slow down between him and the person before him.
And the person before him was the most gorgeous man he had ever seen in his life.
His eyes were the prettiest green, reminding Nine of an emerald diamond. And the beautiful glistening eyes weren't the only thing catching his attention.
Nine couldn't stop staring at the man's heart-shaped lips that looked too soft and kissable. His throat felt dry as he tried gulping down his spit; the man's lips began to turn into something throwing his mind in disarray.
The man leaned closer, resting his hand on his cheek while smirking, "So, are you going to order anything or stare at me all night?"
Fuck! Nine thought as he tried to hold back from closing his eyes with a shudder.
The man before him should be illegal. Who the hell has such a husky and seductive voice mixed with a dangerous face? That is double homicide!
"I-I," Nine stuttered before taking a deep breath and continuing, "can I get a gin and tonic?"
The man pulled back with a bright smile, "On it."
Nine bit his lip, watching the man make his drink as his eyes started moving lower. The man wore a black button-up shirt with the first five buttons unclasped. Nine took in the smooth skin and the muscular chest.
He knew he shouldn't look because he was in a relationship, but the man was like a dream or a demon meant to fuck with his mind.
When the cup hit the table, it took Nine from his thoughts, causing him to jump. "Here you go, sir."
Oh, God!
How many hits could Nine take before melting on the spot?
Nine quickly grabbed his drink, drowning it before slamming it down on the table. His face scrunched up from the fast intake, but at least it cured his dry throat. He felt extremely thirsty.
"Would you like another?" The man asked.
Slowly looking the man up and down before facing the ceiling with a prayer, Nine threw out, "Shots, please. I need them."
God, he needed more than shots. He needed a savior.
And as four shot glasses landed on the bar, getting filled, the savior came in the form of his friend Jon. "Nine, you have been over here long enough; let's go dance."
Nine hummed, grabbing the shots, drowning them down one by one with a gasp before getting off his seat. "Let's dance!" Nine needed to leave this area because he did not know how much the drinks could help him from the temptation in a form of a man.
Remember Nine: you have a boyfriend. Nine thought to himself as he followed Jon to the dance floor.
The dance floor was crowded with people as Nine and Jon began dancing to the beat of the music. They stuck close as Jon had one hand on his hip, standing behind him while Nine shook his hips. They moved in sync, laughing as the lights, music, and alcohol started to get to Nine.
He felt relaxed and free.
Time started to pass when he and Jon separated as Jon found his target to hit on for tonight. Nine didn't mind dancing alone as he closed his eyes, raising his hands as he moved with the beat. His body swayed back and forward, showing how easily his hips moved and the flexibility of his body.
As the beat began to pick up, so did his movements. Nine began humming to the song, running his hands down his body, practically looking seductive to the outside eye.
And it seemed that someone took the bite as hands found their way to Nine's hips, pulling him back against a robust body. "Hello again, sir." The person whispered in his ear.
Nine was getting ready to pull himself away from the random body touching him when he heard the voice, causing him to pause. He turned his head around, coming face to face with the gorgeous bartender.
They were so close to the point of feeling each other's breath. "Can I dance with you?" The man asked.
No, we can't. Nine thought, knowing he shouldn't dance with anyone that is not his friend. But, instead of those words appearing out of his mouth, he heard himself say, "Sure." Maybe the alcohol was getting to him.
The man held onto Nine's hips, swaying them as he pressed close against him. Nine could feel every outline of the man as he closed his eyes, moving his body against him.
The warm hands on him began to move up, bringing his shirt with it before moving back down. Shivering from the touch, Nine grabbed the man's hands, holding them against his hips as he began gyrating on him.
He heard the man chuckle behind him, driving him wild before he felt the man's breath and lips on the back of his neck. The man's lips barely touched his skin, but it was enough for Nine's breath to hitch.
Nine leaned his head back, hitting the man's shoulder as he showed off his long neck. The warm hands on him slid down to his legs, bringing his hands with them. He felt them grip hard as a light brush of lips moved down his neck before moving back up and towards his ear.
"You are exquisite."
Nine moaned.
What was it again that he had to remember? Because the hands on him and the sinful voice whispering in his ear caused him to forget everything in his mind.
"Vee. That is what I will have you moaning next."
Fuck. Nine was already gone.
