You know, I kind of love Bianca as a protagonist - she’s so unique for the genre. So often the characters seem to have all the answers, and Bianca doesn’t - she’s learning what some of the wrong answers are, but not what the correct ones are. She’s not a cool, brilliant strategist, she’s not a sweet instantly likable good girl who charms everyone around her. She’s stubborn and prideful, and a bit (a lot?) ignorant and prone to wrong footing and lashing out—honestly? It’s believable for a sheltered (and lbh, emotionally neglected) teenage girl. It makes me really excited to watch her growth. There’s something kind of compelling about a stubborn, slightly unlikeable young lady holding her ground and her pride and marching ahead on a new path. I’m cheering for you, Bianca!
Bianca de Arno was a ruthless countess in the Kingdom of Sevran, infamous for being a wicked and selfish wife. While her husband, Count Zachary de Arno, bravely risked his life out on the battlefield, she sat at home and spent his money. It wasn’t until her final day that Bianca realized the error of her ways. Before she dies, Bianca prays for a second chance, swearing she will do better, and wakes up in her 19-year-old body. With her second chance, Bianca starts to see everything in a new light… starting with her husband.
