A Demon, A God, and A Geas

A Demon, A God, and A Geas

Sep 22, 2022

"A geas? A mere daemon dares to ask me, a Celestial. For a Pact? Treason!" she said fuming.
"Stop it with the act. I can see the curiosity that's written all over your face and that twisted smile." said the demon pointing out Void's smile.

'Well damn, he noticed.' said Void as she grinned happily. In truth she was elated. To make such a bold demand, it was just too... too... interesting. She tried to hide her smile but it proved impossible. She was just too curious.

"So? What do you propose?" she said tapping her foot in a somewhat fidgety manner. She was so excited. A pact, with a demon. She had never had one before. Her Celestial nature of curiosity always got the best of her in situations like these.

"Make me an apostle of the House of Void," he said as he bent on one knee and lowered his head. "I wish to serve m'lady till. God forbid she finds no more use in me."

Well, this was quite unexpected, to say the least. A demon asking to enter into her service. It was unheard of.

"Why?" she said perplexed.

"I wish to nurture the inhabitant of this body to become a member of the Magna Pantheon," he said with a smile.

The Magna Pantheon. A council made up of the strongest beings in the universe. The First seat is Void. Officially referred to as Domini Vacuus. She rules the Unknown. The ever-expanding multiverse she created gives birth to many tyrants. But of all the tyrant's born none could quite match up to the Second seat Khronos. Officially referred to in the Pantheon as Domini Tempus. He rules the timelines of every multiverse that Void created. There's also Helios and a bunch of other members.

"To make such a claim I do believe you have a plan?" she said as she sat down offering him a seat.

"Izuki Kikuhara, is dead. Or he should be. So why did he end up in the domain of the First seat of the Pantheon?" said the Demon as he took a sip of tea.

"Are you perhaps?" she said as her aura built up "Insinuating something?".

"Not at all," he said as she quelled her rage.

"I just find it strange. What are the chances of the perfect vessel I made ending up here?" he asked as he dropped his cup on the table signaling for a refill.

"Perfect vessel? Whatever do you mean?" said Void as she obliged his request pouring the tea into the cup till it was filled.

"Well, I as the Duke of Gravitas, have spent countless millennia researching, testing, and theorizing on how to create the perfect vessel for us vestiges." he drew imaginary lines on the table. "Until I reached a breakthrough," he said as he took another sip of tea.

"What are your findings?" she asked curiously.

"Humans" he concluded.

"Humans? Do you mean the carbon-based lifeforms that are titled Homo sapiens?" she said puzzled.

"They are the peak of my research. A small specie that was confined to a sandbox of my creation. I named it
MKS-099-03 also known as Earth." he said with passion in his eyes.

"You seem to love your work." she said with a smile.

"Indeed," he said composing himself. "But it wasn't enough. I wanted to create a human that could adapt to any situation or circumstance it found itself in. And after years of evolution and genetics, I had done it. I named it Project HU-002 codename Izuki." he had a nostalgic look on his face as if he was reminiscing about the good old days.

"As a demon, I had to report my findings to the higher-ups for my discoveries to be used to overthrow you Celestials. But, I didn't. I was tired of the endless wars, the onslaught, the meaningless death." He had a bitter expression as he spoke. " I just wanted to continue my work for myself. So I self-imposed an exile to continue my research."

"I took care of Izuki like my own son. In his baby stages, he was very dependent. A core flaw in the programming I had created. Humans had developed a sense of "care" for one another. Depending on each other to survive. To eliminate this instinct and build a truly indomitable being. I came up with a simple solution. Perpetual reincarnation."

All the while Void sat down, entranced by the vast archive knowledge that a mere demon had built up.

"I had Izuki live through multiple lifetimes to experience life from different perspectives. Pain, sorrow, despair, love, lust, happiness, sadness, and death. All these emotions were experienced over a long amount of incarnations."

"This allowed my scientific hypothesis of numbness to set in. To put it simply, every time he experienced such emotions he grew accustomed to them. SO accustomed in fact that after a while he'd have felt that exact emotion for so long, it wouldn't affect him."

"By the way, this death marks his 9,999th deathday. I was on preparing the 10,000th when all of a sudden a core aspect of Izuki's build-up which I named, CORE-|1/∞| conveniently nicknamed the S.O.U.L (Source Of Universal Life), was missing. I couldn't find it anywhere on the radar. Gone without a trace. Years of work wasted."

"So I used the emergency protocol B-32-X which simply allowed me to connect to the core via consciousness transfer. Which is why it may look like I'm taking over his body. The code to activate the protocol was I am my Demon." he said as he looked at his reflection on the table.

"I hadn't expected to run into a celestial though, and most certainly not the Domini Vaccus. But this works out fine."

"Huh? What do you mean? I'm just bored." said Void.

"Exactly! I want to continue my research, and you're looking for excitement. Grant me your seal and I'll make a being capable of fighting you. I'll alleviate your boredom in exchange for the freedom to research as I wish."

Void was torn. On one hand, this was an offer she was willing to take. On the other hand, she didn't know if this demon could be trusted.

"I assure you that as a scientist. No, a parent. I only wish the best for my child. Izuki is essentially a culmination of my entire life's work as a whole. I will make sure he reaches his full potential."

"If you need proof I'll keep my end of the bargain, you can look at my work so far. I will do whatever it takes for him to be the best. Even if it would kill him. That is my love. It may be flawed, but it's what I know. I am, after all, a Demon." he said as he got up and walked over to her once again kneeling.

"So, what do you suggest?"  said Void.

"To beat you. He'll need to experience everything and nothing. He's built to adapt, so he grows on experience.
He is essentially the personification of the statement whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. I need your seal. Afterward, I'll have him travel to the ends of the universe accumulating experience under my watch. Once I feel he is ready. I'll send him your way and the Geas will be completed."

There was a bit of a pause...

"I see. Ok! then let this seal represent our contract. Should either party deviate, they will be erased from existence. I am Void Ygmedrech, The First of all Creation, and she who rules the Unknown. What is your name young Demon?" said Void.

"I am Lucius Draco of the Gravitas household! The current Duke of Gravitas and he who commands gravity," he responded as a magic circle appeared beneath both of them. Pure white chains wrapped around their bodies and began to glow.

"WE ARE GODS, AND AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME WE FORM A PACT, A GEASA," they said in unison.

Just then an unknown voice echoed in the cosmos, "And what are the terms of your pact? SPEAK!"

"A PACT OF NON-AGGRESSION, I Void shall not harm Draco as long as the pact is honored, and shall welcome him as a member of my household. And I, Draco, shall create a worthy opponent capable of satisfying Void in exchange for the pact." they both responded.

"The GEASA is not balanced. Instead, Draco, the exile of house gravitas. Swear a pact to give full ownership of what you create to Void. Do you swear?" asked the voice again.

Draco thought hard. The deal hadn't changed that much and was still in his favor. There was no reason to refuse.

"I swear. Testor Deum," he said.

"What of the Ruler of the Unknown? Do you swear this day?!" asked the voice.

"I swear. Testor Deum," she responded.

"THEN LET IT BE KNOWN THIS DAY THAT TWO GODS SWORE A PACT OF NON-AGGRESSION. Sedes tua foedus honorat Deum." said the voice.

A seal was branded on Izuki's neck. Signifying the solidification of the agreement.

A pact made between a demon and a Celestial. What kind of fruit will this relationship reap...

To be continued...
