Jun Min was so immersed in his thoughts. He suddenly came back to his senses as the wind blew bitter cold around him. He looked in front of him and finally noticed a familiar car. He seemed to have seen it somewhere before but he decided to ignore it, thinking that sometimes cars look alike. He looked up to the cloudy sky, hoping to see a ray of sunlight but couldn't find any.
The wind blew harder. Raindrops fell slowly from the sky, landing gently on the dry ground. Jun Min took a deep breath and could smell the faint earthly scent that slowly permeated the air. He always liked this smell. It never failed him to take him back to the past, taking him back to his childhood days when his life was not yet so complicated and he had still time to play with his friends.
So nostalgic. He thought.
A wave of memories flooded through his mind, not only of his life but also from that strange dream he had. He couldn't avoid thinking of the life he had when he dreamt of being part of that book, "Daybreak".
He remembered the unpredictable weather in the Mountain of Glory where the main sect was located, a place he once spent most of his time with the villain and with the other characters in the book. He remembered the adventures he experienced that he would never think he would experience in real life. His experience in the book brought the famous saying "We read to escape reality." to a whole new level.
Suddenly he felt water dripping from above. He looked up and saw water dripping from the ceiling of the waiting shed. He decided to check the time on his phone but then he suddenly remembered something and quickly checked his bag.
What the! I forgot to bring my umbrella. Jun Min looked to his left and his right and noticed that he was alone in the waiting shed with a shiny black car in front of him. The rain was already pouring heavily and he could feel the cold air slowly embracing his body as well as the water dripping above him.
He put his bag in front of him and embraced it like seeking some warmth from it. His attention shifted to the window of the car which was slowly opening revealing a man. He tried to see who was the man but he couldn't since the inside of the car was a bit dark.
Is he going to kidnap me? Jun Min stared inside the window. He wanted to run but a part of him wanted to see the man's face clearly.
The door of the car suddenly opened and a man went out ignoring the tiny drops of rain that entered his car. Jun Min stood frozen he couldn't believe that the man he wanted to see was now in front of him. The man walked towards the waiting shed and looked at him.
"Stop staring. I know I'm handsome." The man smiled at him waking Jun Min from his thoughts.
This feels like a déjà vu ah. Jun Min was so surprised that the man in front of him looked exactly like the villain in the book "Daybreak". Their voice is also the same. I think I have heard those lines before.
"Wanna have a ride?" The man asked him.
As much as I want to go home now. This man may look like him but he is still a stranger ah. "No, I'm waiting for a friend." Jun Min quickly thought of an excuse. He hugged his bag tighter which didn't go unnoticed by the other man and the man's lips faintly hooked up. "He should be here any minute now." Jun Min said then he looked at his phone like he was expecting to receive a message.
"So you're waiting for a friend. I will accompany you---"
"No need. Have a good day sir!" Jun Min quickly interrupted whatever the man was about to say and waved his hand as if saying goodbye to him.
The man suddenly walked back to his car and closed its door as well as the window. Jun Min didn't know why he felt a sudden loss by the man's actions. Goodbye. However, he didn't expect that the driver's seat door would suddenly open and the man quickly got off the car. He covered his head with his hand and ran towards Jun Min under the waiting shed which was shielding them both against the heavy downpour. They could hear the pitter-patter of the rain above their heads. They were standing side by side and the man was busy wiping his face with a handkerchief.
Jun Min realized that the other man was taller than him. He had to look up to have a good look at his face. Then, the man suddenly looked at him.
"You don't have to accompany me. Really." Jun Min tried to hide his embarrassment from being caught, he took a step sideways maintaining a larger distance away from the man as much as possible. He was afraid that the other man could hear his heartbeat.
"Don't be afraid." The man winked at him. "I should be the one who is afraid of you for constantly staring at my handsome face."
Jun Min took a deep breath. Who wouldn't be afraid ah and he is so modest, no? "I'm fine on my own. You should go."
"Are you sure?" The man looked at him and at his bag which Jun Min was hugging in front of him like his life depended on it.
