It's a lot easier to live life on the surface.
You can float around and allow the current to take you where it will. To dive underneath the water takes some gumption. You have to hold your breath and adjust your vision. And the deeper you dive, the more pressure you feel. Even at the bottom of a ten-foot pool, the pressure feels immense, forcing most people back to the surface.
But learning about a life that matters is like diving for treasure that rests on the ocean floor. You have to leave the comforts of surface living and endure the pressure of the deep in order to reap the rewards of something valuable.
For surface-dwellers, a life that matters is too deep and too difficult to pursue. But now that you know the treasure's down there, you'd be crazy not to start learning how to dive.
