Castor yawned, becoming board with waiting. When he had awoken earlier, he was a bit irritated to have been left alone so easily.
He so desperately wanted to see and talked to Nox again, that's why when the door opened, that’s who he was expecting. Not a person clad in green, who didn’t even have the curtsy to knock.
He shot up, in a defensive stance.
"Who the hell are you? "
The hooded figure raised a shaky hand to calm the man.
"I come in peace. ..I’m the second son Derek Von, Nox’s older brother. .."
Castor relaxed, taking a seat.
"So, you are the one Nox talked about? …Should you be out walking? " He eyed the man, seeing how off balanced he was, or at least, seemed.
Derek took a seat near the wall, taking a ragged breath, more in annoyance than in pain.
"I see my brother spoke about me, sadly it’s all greatly exaggerated and nearly a year ago.... I am perfectly fine with walking and making my way around places." Derek wonder what else Nox might have told him and how much detail, but kept that thought silent.
Castor tried to glance at Derek’s face, to see if he was just as beautiful as his younger brother but the older man looked away. Castor stopped, sensing he wasn’t too keen on showing his face, considering half a masked covered it.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it…."
Derek leaned back on the chair, letting his head rest on the wall.
"It’s alright, you just didn’t know is all… I’m not here for show…I’m here for Nox. "
Castor question was that of pure honesty.
"Why? Is Nox in trouble because of me? "
Derek mumbled, getting annoyed about how clueless the man was.
"He’s in more trouble with our people than our father, I can tell you that….but Castor, I am warning you. If any harm comes to my brother, I will kill you. "
The Sun Prince swallowed hard. The calm voice came out cold. It sent chills down his spine. Part of him feared Derek was aware of his earlier digressions.
Castor did something he had never done to anyone, he bowed to his knees and lowered his head.
"If its the money he paid to help me, my father will pay it...and I have no intention of hurting Nox. "
The 2nd Prince hummed, he finally realized that Castor hadn’t had noticed his younger brothers interest in the Prince. Then again, he hadn’t known him well enough yet.
"I mean his heart, stupid." He crossed his arms and sighed. “Money isn’t an issue either...” He was a little annoyed. "He trusts you too much..."
"What? " Castor felt a slight burning on his cheeks.
The 2nd Prince wondered if all Sun people were airheads.
“I haven’t seen my brother this happy….” He knew not to tread to far to cause questions he knew Castor would later ask Nox. “For awhile….” He glared at him with his eye. “Do not hurt him.”
The voice that seemed to escape, was if it was more of a plea, then a threat from earlier.
“I told you before, I don’t plan on hurting Nox…” Castor got up, confused even more. “Did someone hurt him before?" He pressed. "Before what happened to the both of you?"
Derek knew he spoke too much and had limited time before his said brother showed up to drop off dinner. He pulled himself up with his cane and bowed his head.
“Please keep this between us….” Derek knew he was messing up again by being here. “If he knew, I am sure he would be even more mad at me.”
“He’s not mad at you.” Castor dared to walk closer to him, careful to rest a hand on his shoulder. “He’s worried for you….” He pulled his hand away, as he finally caught a glimpse of the man he was talking to. His undamaged side of his face was beautiful and the mask hid away wounds Nox talked about.
Tears fell down. As if those words were something Derek needed to hear. Castor watched as if the man before him was breaking. That look he gave him, was similar to the look Nox gave when talking about Ari Tiky.
“Derek...what happened with Ari Tiky?” Castor knew he shouldn’t have pushed it, but he did. He didn’t do it with Nox, because of that fear. That weakness. That eye seemed to want to tell all and yet.
“He…” Derek lowered his head. “Please, I was never here….” He pulled away, making enough distance with easy that it through Castor off. It was so fast and swift, Derek closed the door behind him. It was as if his weakness was more mental then physical.
Castor looked at the door, his mind full of questions.
He went over Derek’s words and decided it was best that he did keep this from Nox, for now at least.
He walked back over to his bed, thumping down hard on it and pondered.
Pondered if what he had heard about the Moon Kingdom before was just rumors and speculations vs. that of the truth that was hidden in the shadows.
It was even more so, did Castor find out he knew nothing of the world but what his own would tell him.
And that scared him because how else would he rule his kingdom based on lies?
In his chest he felt a pressure building.
In this room he was in, alone, gave him more thinking than he has done in his lifetime. Something he wished to fix was his lack of knowledge. For being left in the dark was never something Castor liked.
For now, he decided to play it safe.
He had time after all to ask his questions.
And for right now, his time was waiting for that knock at the door.
