Actually there are 3 stages in our sleep. The first stage is sleep onset, the second stage is light sleep, then the third stage and the fourth is either deep sleep or the rapid eye movement stage. At this stage nightmares are seen. Dreams can be seen not only from thoughts, but also from the subconscious mind. We cannot control dreams.
