"Stupid Doctor...You think yer a hotshot cause yer got a high position", Hoen Svryn muttered as he strutted into The Devils Pub. "Oy lassy, Two shots of red gin pronto...yer savy", Hoen yelled immediately he entered the pub. "Hey Hoen, you owe us..Been keeping drinks on your tab since last month. Pay up old man. No money no drinks..", The barkeep, Joshi yelled back. "Just gimme a shot damnit... Collect your debt from Even", Hoen grumbled as he took a seat and tapped on the bar. "Just one shot.. C'mon yet lass of a man", Hoen said in an attempt to convince Joshi. "Fine...just one shot...One shot and you're out", Joshi gave in as he prepared a shot of red gin. Hoen looked around and spotted his drinking buddies Sam and Garm huddled in the corner..They were drenched from head to toe. "Sammy boy, Old Garm whatc'er doing there?" Hoen said amidst laughter. "Y'all looking like wet ducks, that's right, wet ducks I say", slapping his thigh he said whilst laughing at his own joke. The two men, obviously annoyed by Hoen's joke looked as if they were going to confront him but one look from Joshi squashed that idea. Garm then looked at Hoen and said,"We heard Hoen, the doctor, he threatened you didn't he?" Sam snickered and commented,"Heard he roughed you up real good. Do how did it feel? Being bullied by someone half your age must be nice" Everyone in the pub laughed and Hoen was red with shame."It's all because of that devil spawn...that damned Even. It's all her fault ", Hoen roared in his defence. "Oh... interesting, can you tell me more about this Even girl?", a stranger said as he placed a bottle of root beer infront of Hoen. "See she has something of mine and I need your help to get it back ", the man said revealing a dazzling smile in the process. "What do I get from it?" Hoen asked whiles reaching for the beer. "Money, lots of money ", the man replied and a bright smile appeared on Hoen's face.
"Alfredo where are we?!", Even asked Alfredo who was busy checking out a tombstone. "What does it look like, we're in a graveyard", he replied without even turning his head. "Hmm...this seems right, okay we're at the right place", with a clap, Alfredo said whilst turning. He looked at Even and a smile flashed on his face. Taking his silk handkerchief out of his pocket, he removed and began to clean his monocle."To be a proper soul sovereign you need to deal with your fear of ghosts and where best to do that than your mother's grave", he said solemnly. "What are you trying to say, mother isn't dead!", Even said, clearly shaken. "I beg to differ young lady, you're mother is dead .. She's been dead for.. hmm let's see...one, two, three, four years now and this is her grave", Alfredo said as he made way for Even to approach the tombstone. Even read what was written on it and broke down in tears . "No ..it can't be..... mother, Alfredo this is a joke right?", She asked whiles crying. "Sorry to disappoint. This is the grave if Martha Svryn, wife of Hoen Svryn and mother of Dan Surm Svryn and you... Even", Alfredo said without any trace of compassion. Even wailed as she knelt in front of her mother's grave. With a sigh Alfredo said,"What if I told you you can meet her again?", Even turned and asked,"What?". "Your mother, we're gonna bring her back", Alfredo said as his eyes began to glow crimson.
