(Author's Note: Since other authors make notes, I may as well follow suit. Plus, it lets you get to know me a little. So, what should I tell you today? *Thinky time* Oh, I got one, a piece of advice for those of you who did not get it yet, the dialogue in this story behaves differently than it would in other stories you've read. They are labeled with quotes with names before them. If you already know this then just keep reading.)

I woke up the next morning and went to a place I never dared to venture to before, the living room. Moku was already awake, the tenants of this building use this central space as a sort of common room. I sat across from her, she perked up when she saw me.

Moku:" Oh hey.- Koba, you look like a cave beast, do you even brush your hair?"

[TIP: Japanese translation for Cobalt is "Kobaruto" or "Koba" for short.]

Koba: "I'll be right back..."

(Koba walks out of the room and shows up about 0000.5 milliseconds later)

Moku: "That's much better, that was pretty quick though."

I went back to my room and started a cup of c o f f e e.

Moku was once again curious, she requested a cup of what I'm drinking. I went back to my room and started another cup.

Koba:" Make sure you're slow about it, it is a-"

Too late she took a big sip,

*SPROING!*

Her hair and fur stood on end as an intense surge of caffeine shot through her. 

Koba: " I was trying to say that it's a special super blend of mine."

Moku:" Ugh, more like a heart attack blend!"

Koba: " Hey! At least it gets me going and keeps me going."

There was a moment of peaceful silence. I decided to ask her where her friend is.

Moku: " Which one?"

Koba: " The fox."

Moku: "Oh, you mean Kira?"

I nodded

Moku:" Koba, how do you normally eat breakfast?"

I got a little irritated whenever she called me " Koba", at least she's not calling me "Pervert" or something of the like.

Koba:" I just eat ramen or cereal."

Moku: " Oh come on, that food is no fun!"

She gestured toward a plate of cream cheese danishes, I took two and snuck a third.

Moku:" You know, I have not seen you outside of your room that much."

Koba:"..."

[Switching perspective to Moku]

  [TIP: The story, until a further indication, is now being told from her point of view] 

I have the feeling that he is still deliberately withholding information from me. Koba went back up to his apartment and came out a few minutes later. He had his satchel slung over his shoulder, he then went out the front entrance. I was curious, I followed him down a couple of blocks. He soon stopped and entered...

Moku: " The Library? "

This is a bit anti-climatic, I was expecting something a bit more unsavory. When the lady at the desk saw Koba, she smiled.

[Switching back to Koba]

Moku has been following me

Koba: "So what do you want?"

she gave one of her "I've been caught" smiles (you know the kind you get whenever you catch someone red-handed) but I have to admit  that Moku can be adorable sometimes. Her olive-green eyes were pointed downward with embarrassment.

Moku: "This is where you go?"

Koba:"...Yes"

Koba: “I got what I wanted”

Moku: “Now let's go back”

As we were walking back, Moku was on her phone doing god knows what.

Koba: “Moku, I have not noticed yet, but god your shorts are tiny”

She did not hear me she was busy tapping away on her phone 

[Switching To Kira]

I was sleeping soundly… 

 *BUZZ BUZZ*

At least until my phone received a message.

I shoved my face into my pillow, trying to ignore it.

 (1 very short but peaceful moment later…)

*BUZZ BUZZ BUZZZZZ*

I gave up trying to sleep in and picked up my phon… 

Kira:”It's from Moku...”

[CHAT]

[NEW MESSAGE: Hey Kira remember the boy who ran away yesterday?]

[yes]

[NEW MESSAGE: he is actually pretty friendly]

[Seriously!?]

[NEW MESSAGE: yea but pretty quiet and he is a total coffee addict]

[But why did he run away?]

[NEW MESSAGE: Idk ._. ]

[so how did you meet him?]

[NEW MESSAGE: … I don’t know how to say it without scaring u]

[Should I come over?]

[NEW MESSAGE: I guess but in a private spot like the co-op]

[I will be there soon]

[END OF CHAT SESSION]

[Switching to Cobalt]

We were walking back to the co-op and there was still one thing that I did not understand

Koba:“So Moku, how are you able to fly? I thought you were a tanuki.”

She looked at me like she was asked that many times before.

“Well yes, I am a tanuki but I also have an extremely unstable genetic makeup"

Koba:"Gee, like I totally did not see a plot device like that in an anime before..."

Wait, what is anime anyway? Why did I say that!?

Moku:"What did you say?"

Koba:"Nothing."

We walked through the front doors of the co-op I walked up to my room and opened the door 

“Hello? Zanina are you in there?

No response

Koba:“*phew* I thought he was going to be in there”

I dropped my books on my bed and laid down I turned on a desk lamp and started to read.

Koba: “The tell-tale heart by Edgar Allen Poe”

It was about a gentleman who cared for an old man, he was creeped out by this man's eye. The thought of it drove him over the edge, he lost his mind and fucking murdered him, cut his body to pieces in a bathtub (sushi an, and hid him under the floorboards. When the police came to investigate, the madman was home free for there was no evidence to pin on him (except for the body under the floor). But he thought he heard the old man's heartbeats, the sound was growing louder as the man was growing extremely uneasy. He snapped and confessed to the crime. I don't think the old man's heart was actually beating, it was just his remorse being amplified by his mental instability. 

That was it, Edgar is a genius even by today's standards. I closed the book and lay face-up on my bed ignoring the fact that it was rather hard to sleep on my back with that huge tail sticking out of my ass. I eventually drifted off to sleep…
