Cedric Wolfhard sends a screen recording on discord to the Night's Guard Group chat.
The recording shows the same blank screen facing the wall, but in the background one can hear a commotion going on. A vase crashes to the floor, it ends and the fellas don't know what to make of it.
They turn on their microphones.
"That doesn't sound good," Luka exclaims.
"Yeah, it doesn't," Dante agrees.
"But you had this for a week, why didn't you go to the cops?" Miles queries.
"And become a suspect, myself, I don't think so," Cedric counters and continues to say "It's bad enough I'm showing you guys."
"I agree with the boy, you should have sent this to the police, so they can open up a case for this," Wren argues, and they all realize that they haven't introduced themselves yet.
"Uhm, shouldn't it be better to stay anonymous?" Conrad queries and the rest of the group decides it's best to get to know each other, even if it's just names and ages.
"Okay, so we have fem boy, construction worker, gamer weirdo, town's person b, someone's dad and shooter as a team to take the police's job and find a missing bunny girl," Miles informs and the feedback received from unhappy group.
"Why am I fem boy?" Luka peeved.
"I'm glad you know it's you," Miles counters.
"You could've left out the weirdo part," Cedric, clearly disgruntled.
"Town's person b? You could've put more effort in that," Dante annoyed.
"I say the same for someone's dad," Wren adds.
"Okay guys, back to the vid, what do you think happened?" Julian comments in urgency.
"His right, something's up," Conrad chimes in.
The group speaks up about what could have taken place.
"Maybe she just tripped," Dante suggests.
"And knocked every single damn thing in her path, yeah bud let's go with that" Miles counters.
"Easy, okay, we all just want to know what happened to her," Julian speaks up.
"Why do we even need to find out what happened to her? It's not like we're getting anything out of this" Miles states.
"We are getting something out of this, We're making sure she's safe!" Luka blurts into the microphone.
"Seriously dude chill out, I'm sure nothing happened to her, okay" Cedric attempts to calm a very flustered Luka.
"Wait play back that video one last time" Dante asks and Cedric plays it back, this time Dante shouts to pause at a specific area.
"Listen! Did you hear that?" Dante yells.
"I don't hear anything out of the usual," Wren adds.
"I agree with Dad over there," Miles says.
"I think I know what you're talking about," Cedric fiddles on his PC, turning up the volume on the video. "This, listen to the background."
They all turn up their volume slightly and listen to the muffled screams in the background.
"No way!" Luka's voice echoes into their ears.
"Dude seriously!" Miles yells back and pulls off his headphones as his ears still ringing. "So we have a case, a solid one at that, let's take it to the police station-"
He soon gets cut off by Luka, "No, my dad's a cop I know how it goes over there, they're going to have to do a bunch of paperwork to work the case in and by then she might be you know d-e-a-d."
"She might have been kidnapped," Wren suggests.
"Yeah, sadly that seems to be the case here," Conrad agrees.
"What do we do now?" Julian asks a question they all seemed baffled with.
The group ends their conversation promising to come up with ideas for the next day, meanwhile each go back to their daily routine.
Conrad on an actual date with his girlfriend, which he had to explain to her why he keeps dropping her. He came up with the excuse that he was preparing himself for the upcoming game. Which was not exactly a lie since he had a game against the Wild Boars this weekend. For years, they have been the South Leo's rivals. As both teams usually end their games in a tie, as frustrating as it is for both of them this time around, if they don't win they don't go to nationals.
Julian had been tasked with cleaning up a building after demolition, a job that took a strain on his back. Since he had to carry loads on a wheelbarrow to and fro. He typically had no social life outside of work and only passion playing his bass guitar when he has the time.
Miles doing a practical in Med class, since this time around he couldn't blow it off to play with one of his so-called 'kittens', a name for his love conquests.
Luka's never been one for sports or school or people, and decided on sitting in the corner of the room watching his class play volleyball for gym class. He tried his best looking for 'evidence' or anything helpful during Hell Kat's previous livestreams.
A South Korean American-born lawyer, Wren in a meeting with a board of executives over a case of his.
Cedric aggressively completing a game level on his pc, while eating from a cup of ramen and blasting heavy metal music.
Dante not-so much paying attention in class.
"I'm sorry guys, but I handed over the video to the cops," Wren informs the group on their chatroom, The Night's Guard.
"Yeah, I saw her missing person poster from my dad," Luka adds.
"Well, I guess that's that," Miles concludes.
A few days go by and the group is silent until a message in all caps stir a conversation.
"I FOUND HER!"
