Alister gave Tatsumi a confused look as the blonde stuttered something.
"What is it?" Alister asked, raising an eyebrow.
"It's nothing-- there was something in my eye I think." Tatsumi quietly responded. Alister sighed and stood up from his spot at their table. What Tatsumi didn't know is that Alister saw much of the same coming from Tatsumi's right hand when his eyes faded. A quartet of the wraith-like strands, each flowing a to different direction and trailing off to locations unknown. Alister took a small plastic box out of his shirt pocket, flipping it over repeatedly in his hand.
"I have a feeling we have the same problem, Tatsumi. I really have to go, though." Alister took out a small sheet of paper and a pencil, quickly jotting down something onto it.
"Here's my number. I can't exactly plan to see you again, since my work is somewhat hectic, but maybe we'll see eachother again." Alister turned his back to Tatsumi as he walked towards the exit to the diner, but before opening the door and leaving, Alister turned his head and said one last thing to Tatsumi.
"By the way, i'd suggest finding a safer hobby than hands-on train watching." With that, Alister walked out of the diner, and into the night. Tatsumi left a few seconds after, but the boy he just met was nowhere to be seen in the crowded streets. Tatsumi stared at the slip of paper in his hand, before heading off to his home. The same pattern repeated as he walked;
Suddenly and without warning, as Tatsumi walked, someone grabbed him,and dragged him into a dingy alley. Tatsumi screamed as he was thrown against a wall, and a silhouetted figure stood in front of him, the twighlight of the street behind them masking their identity. Then their voice came.
"You were so close, and you just had to blow it didn't you?"
