Apocalypse Of Beasts

Thread Trap (finale)

Thread Trap (finale)

Oct 06, 2022

"Don't worry. I'll help you."

I can see a figure in front of me talking to me, though I can't quite make out who it is.

Then, I can see him stretch his hand towards my head.

"Air zone."

The person in front of me, said that.

"sniffffffffffffffffff."

Then, as if by a miracle, I can breathe again.

"Cof cof!"

Causing me to also start coughing from breathing so much in a single moment.

Then I could notice how a bubble surrounded my face. Which, I guess for some reason allows me to breathe.

In front of me, is floating a white-haired boy, thin, a height close to 170cm, and a very young face, he must not be more than 18 years old.

He has a rather cheerful and smiling face for the situation we are both in.

Like me, in his head he also has a bubble.

"Who are you?"

I ask him that, as I look directly into his eyes.

The boy scratches the back of his head and replies.

"I'm the second captain in command of General Dwight's squadron."

The boy says that and then smiles, showing himself to be totally proud of that position.

So, that means that there are still living soldiers from Dwight's squadron brought to this place. So there's still hope to fight these things.

"Is it just you left alive?"

"Or are there more soldiers left alive?

I ask him that, expectant to get a positive answer.

The boy puts a finger to his mouth and thinks about it for a moment with his eyes closed.

"The truth is that quite a few of us have died..."

The boy answers me that rather depressed.

"It's possible that there are some of us left, as it's also possible that there aren't."

The boy answers me that in a very direct and conscious way for what he is going through, he must be very mature for the age he is.

"By the way, do you want me to help you get free?"

The boy says that, while pointing at my threads.

"Sure, please."

I reply, while at the same time nodding my head.

The boy uses a sword, very similar to the one Dwight carries with him.

He extends his sword towards the thread falling from my arm and begins to swing the sword back and forth trying to cut the thread.

As he tries to cut the thread, he increases his speed. For he does not notice that he is making any change.

The stress of not being able to cut the thread begins to show on his face.

Finally he stops to look at the thread carefully and then looks at me.

"Did the beasts do this?"

"Or was it you?"

The boy, very curious, asks me that.

"It was me."

I reply.

"Wow, if that thread is too strong to cut, your magic is very interesting."

"But tell me can't you cut it?"

The boy asks me something again, while touching the thread with his fingers.

"I can only do it for an instance of time."

I reply that to the boy.

The boy looks at the thread once more and charges his sword forward again.

"Well, now yes, I will cut it."

He wields his sword, denoting strength.

"Here I go."

...

The boy says that, but then. Behind him appears a beast, the same type as the previous one, only this one has its whole body in perfect condition.

"Watch out!"

I shout that to the boy, to get him to move aside, but at the distance that beast is from him, it will be impossible for him to dodge an attack.

The boy, turns in terror to see the beast behind him.

The beast charges with its claws. To attack the boy.

In the blink of an eye.

The beast's claws increased in size, to the same length as a common blade.

"What?"

Both the boy and I, said that at the same time.

The beast attacks forward with its claws, trying to split the boy in 2.

...

"Water wave!"

Out of nowhere, a mass of water hits the beast, being completely swept away by the water.

A boy, very similar in appearance to this one, with the difference that he has long hair down to the middle of his back, launched that attack.

This boy has a rather serious and angry look on his face.

"What was it I told you about paying attention to your back?"

The boy asks him that question, arms folded.

"I don't have to answer that."

The boy, replies looking away to the threads in an attempt to cut them again.

"I don't think there's time for that"

"We have company."

The long haired boy says that, while pointing his hand a few feet ahead.

In front of us are 4 beasts, all ready to attack.

"Damn..."

The boy in front of me, mutters that, while turning around to point his sword towards the beasts.

"Sorry."

"I'll have to leave you here for a moment."

"Trust me"

"I'll protect you."

The boy says that, as he steps back a bit to face the beasts from a distance.

"Okay... here we go"
