Two days passed as we watched over Target, he was well enough to be on his own but he still seems uneasy about being alone. He’s fed us and let us rest but soon we’ll have to leave and report this to Alpha Rodger and Alpha Franklin. I stretched as leisurely as I could and laid down yawning.“Omega,” I heard a low growl and opened my eyes wide standing up on guard. “Easy pup, we just want to talk. Wouldn’t want your fear scent to warn your Alpha’s, sit and let’s talk.” I smelled something rancid and recognized it as a commanding scent. I sat down lowing myself and quietly listened to them. “We want our Point Blank back but it seems your pack is wrongfully keeping him and trying to provoke us to take him by force.” I glanced back to camp keeping quiet and looked back at them. “Lead us to them,” SHIT! I shook my head hoping that they would think it was fear. “You were given orders,” the wolf snarled looking to the side, “then pass on this message to your Alpha. Can you do that at least?” I nodded.“B-but you ha-have t-to stay...” I said quietly and saw them nod. I backed up from them slowly and bolted back to the camp. “Alpha!” I called once I was closer to them, “They’ve arrived, five Alpha’s approached me and two were hidden. The Alpha that spoke to me wasn’t the leader, they said: “We want our Point Blank back but it seems your pack is wrongfully keeping him and trying to provoke us to take him by force.” they also wanted me to lead them here. I convinced them that I couldn’t do it and told them to stay.”“Good job, we’re well rested now so we can handle them.” I nodded and readied to go back with the Stick to take care of the seven Alpha’s.“No, you can’t!” Target said quickly before we could leave, “If they were my old Scout pack they would be stronger than you. If you go see them now it’s a trap. They would jump on you the moment they see you, I’m surprised your Point Blank pulled this off without losing it.” Target looked at me uneasily.“Our Point Black can handle himself well,” Alpha barked and looked at each of us, “bring this message to them.”I ran back to the waiting pack with North ahead of me, I lowered my stance to the ‘weak’ look as we started getting the scent of the Stick. North slowed down and met the Alpha face to face, I hung back and looked between the two trying my best to be small-er. I felt uncomfortable, my legs were starting to hurt and my neck was starting to ache. Why is my back starting to sting? Can’t I just stretch a bit? I hate this. North flicked his tail, that was a message to stay still. Why in this position? It’s so cramped I can’t breathe, why do my feet have to be so close to my body?I can’t breathe.I can’t breathe.Please, let me breathe.North was in front of me on the ground stunned. I looked up and saw the seven wolves before me, they growled menacingly.I growled back and uncurled myself and gave a howl for my Stick to come.~ o ~ m ~ e ~ g ~ a ~We sat waiting for their Direction or for the Alpha Point Blank to howl for us to get them. I paced thinking of what could be happening right now. I smelled Point Blank’s uncomfortable scent first then blood. Soon the now unmistakable sound of an Alpha’s powerful howl. The Scout got up and started for the howl, I hung back terrified of what I might find at the start of the blood scent. It was everywhere, bathing in it was now possible.We reached it but the blood was so strong I gagged. When I recovered I saw seven wolves down and two were wrestling, the winner finally pinned the loser down and held them there strongly. It was my Scout Alpha, he was pinning Alpha Point Blank down! No!~ o ~ m ~ e ~ g ~ a ~I held the real Delta Alpha down, my back paw on the belly of the black wolf my front paw on his chest and my jaws firmly clamped on the Alpha’s throat. I growled wanting to force a submission, there was no way this wolf was going to win.I felt something nudge me to the side and I let them, knowing the scent was non-threatening, I let the Alpha go. Looking around myself briefly I noticed that the Alpha’s were badly injured and around them was puddles of blood.“Sorry, I didn’t mean for it to go that far,” I looked to my Delta Alpha lowering my head a bit.“Point Black fall back, we’ll handle it from here. Look after Ace North and see to the injured once you are sure Ace North is fine.” I nodded and started to wake up North, he shot up and looked around quickly and back to me. North nodded to me and we started looking at the injured while the Stick talked to the Alpha.The injured were behind their Alpha and I sat in my previous lookout spot and stretched yawning. It felt so good to stretch out like this.“I hated that act, never make me do that again,” I said to North, he didn’t say anything just nodded and looked at the injured wolves.The issue was resolved when Target gave his best howl, we got up and stood behind Target.“These are my wolves, this is our territory. Leave,” Target growled and the Scout pack started to leave with no fuss. Target howled again and this time I joined in and so did the rest of the Stick.“Point Black, good job.” Alpha said as we gathered in our spots to prepare for dinner, “But you need to lessen your tendencies of dominance with blood, most won’t want to talk if they are badly injured. We need to come to an agreement, not be tyrants.” My previous Stick didn’t see anything wrong with violence and blood. I sat there staring at my paws, was it really that bad to shed blood during a mission?~ o ~ m ~ e ~ g ~ a ~Alpha sat at the mouth of the cave watching the sun drown in the overcasting shadows of the trees. I padded over to him and sat beside him. “Being a leader is not about dominance and how much control you have over your pack. It’s about how close you are with your pack that makes you a great leader.” Alpha started to say and looked at the Stick talking with one another in a quiet night. “During our missions, life and death are always at our paws. But it is also in theirs, what were you thinking when North was down?”“I wasn’t thinking anything, just that I hated being small and wanted to stretch.”“Anything else?”“North was down, I called the Stick and tried to hold my own so that North wouldn’t get hurt further.”“What would you call that? What was that emotion?”“Protect?”“That is what you do but what is the emotion behind that word?” I thought, what was my reason to try and protect North? Fear? Was I scared when I have seen him down? I think I was. What was it that made me go all in? Anger? Was that it? I was mad that they hurt my friend? Yes. Nodding.“Fear and Anger are what I felt at that moment. Fear that North was going to get hurt more and anger towards those that hurt North.”“Putting others before yourself is a fantastic trait of a leader. Wanting to protect them from further harm is another great trait. Harming others makes you a tyrant. If the pack sees that you hurt your enemies in such a way, they won’t want to trust you. What if you turn that anger to them, who would protect them from their Alpha?”“My previous Stick didn’t have a problem with me using my fangs.”“Did you feel safe with them?”“I don’t know, I was just there to finish a mission. I felt nothing there.”“What about with us? ‘Wind your thoughts’ as Soul 2 would say.”“I never stood beside the Alpha as an equal, I always felt like others were protecting me and I needed to step up to show that I can do it myself. That I don’t need to be protected. No one talked to me as an equal either, it was like my look and size were all that mattered. I mean my pack always tried to include me as an equal but it was underlaid with something that made me stand out as an Omega. Wind flow was never easy for me, I always listened to the wind and used motion as a voice. And it’s ‘Wind of mind’ hehe.”“Haha, so you do listen to Soul 2 and how he speaks. I’m glad, most new Delta’s don’t have the patients to listen to our wise Soul 2 and decipher what he says.”“Has he always spoken like that?”“Yes, he’s a bit slow because of the workings of his brain. Most would say he’s autistic because of how he acts around others. When you really get to know him he’ll be your best friend and let you in on all his secrets.”“So you are not going to send me to a different Stick?”“No, we talked and want you to stay. Soul 2 loves that you listen to him and ask him things, North loves that you listen to him and follow his lead. South loves how strong you are and what you are willing to go through just for your pack, Beta loves that you follow orders and rush headlong into trouble when you know the situation. Soul 1 loves that you make his work easier by helping him cook food and Hunter enjoys hunting with you.”“And you, Sir?”“I love that you seek advice from your whole pack before coming to a solid conclusion, good or bad and most importantly you think things through with a calm mind. The other Delta Alpha’s didn’t know what to do with you, they feared that you were an uncontrollable pup. They warned me to use force with you, even Beta wanted me to use force with you. But seeing you during the mission no matter how frustrated you were you didn’t snap at Soul 2 when he tried to help you. He was scared that you would growl at him for even trying to say anything. I’ve seen that he made a great impression on you and he felt that he can trust you. After I gave you your order and you started to rush off, Soul 2 said ‘May Wind take your paws far for I trust you.’.”“Soul 2 has helped me a lot during this mission...”“Trust your pack and they will be there no matter who you are. You treat your pack with respect they will show you the same. Showing us your Omega side is not a weakness, it means you trust us completely. Even though we want to protect you when you do eventually show us, we know you are stronger even at your weakest.” Alpha turned to me lowing his head, “I trust you.”I watched him pad toward his pack to talk with them for a bit before we rest. Target sat happily chatting with Beta and Soul 1, North and South spoke with the Alpha, Soul 2 and Hunter were having a silent discussion.My Stick.My Pack.Don’t get too close. Justice’s warning came in sharp. He’s right, I’m an Elite Omega. I need to stand alone to protect my pack.Target lifted his muzzle and started to howl, Alpha and Beta joined in and soon the rest of the pack. I watched silently as they enjoyed their howling session, they looked so close. I learned in the Alpha Den that when Alpha’s howl it was to bring each other closer but when I joined in it would go quiet and the den would disperse. I stayed quiet after those few times and just listened it would go on til the moon has gone down.I’m not an Alpha. And because I’m not an Alpha I will never be accepted. It was always best to use force against Alpha’s, it was the only language they understood. Omega’s were never accepted. Will never be accepted. I’m just an Omega. A stupid Omega that was just lucky to win a few fights against Alpha’s, a dumb Omega that needed an Alpha’s help to fight for positions. Positions I don’t deserve. Who am I to walk among Alpha’s? They will never see me as an equal no matter what I did.Useless.I’m worthless.They will never see me act like an Omega ever again.
