Anonymous World [6] Friend or Foe?

Anonymous World [6] Friend or Foe?

Oct 08, 2022

I was later woken up by the loud roaring thunderstorm, bolts striking against the grass, scorching it, leaving what's behind are ashes, The grey dull clouds covered the atmosphere, precluding light and heat sources from the sun to slipping through the darkening world. My thoughts began to twist and I was unable to perceive the world rightly. The clouds above were mingling into each other, sharing and blasting strikes onto the surface. Only light emanated from the lightning, everything was obscure and it was like hiding under the shadow, inside the shelter of thickening water vapour. Wandering slowly into the streets, I witnessed a lighting bolt not far distanced from me struck a tree, setting it ablaze. I halted, and stared hopelessly at the brightness of the flames, flaring fiercely until they left it with ashes, burnt to the ground. The smoke smelled bland as much as the sky and surroundings. I dived both of my hands into the small pockets of my jacket to avoid my hands from becoming numb from the coldness. I continued walking, strolling past what once was a lively tree that turned into ashes. I realised how unbearable the cold was, my body standing against it. I was also starving, just walking down the streets empty-handed with no food nor water, trying to walk into hope. It drained all my energy to do anything vigorous or to sprint.

I felt enervated and with my legs trembling in starvation, thirst and fear, without any strength left I collapsed onto the ground, laying there on the cobblestone path.

I was later awoken up by the shouts of the distance by a figure I couldn't see properly. My poor vision did not allow me to focus well which led to me being puzzled and confused. My vision was twisting distorted colours and it seemed dark. A few seconds after staring at the figure, my vision was beginning to focus well and it turned out to be an innocent man, probably someone that is as perplexed as me being in this place. I stared at them for a few moments and he did so as well. He has brown buzz-cut hair, a pointy nose with wide lips. His eyes were bright green  I sat up and asked "what is going on?"

"Well look, I'm actually as c-confused as you are about where we are. I have a-absolutely zero ideas on how I ended up in this such place," he said.
"So am I." He seems very lost and scared on where he is. My mind made me feel compelled to reassure him. I tried to think with the best possible response to help him.
"At least we aren't alone. I thought I was all by myself in this area and I lost hope on moving on. Glad we found each other," I said.
"You mean I found you,"
"Well that is true, I was asleep when you called me. But anyways, now we have each other if there is anything. We aren't independent anymore."
"That's right. This is rather a miracle than something so typical when you meet someone because with my honest opinion, I rather die on someone's arms than dying alone in the cold darkness!" he jumped and yelled.
"We should work together to find a place out of here. I'm starving so much, I don't think I'll be able to survive another day here."
"Oh I have a packet of biscuits here, take a few. Also lets find a place to rest and introduce ourselves properly."

I crunched down the biscuits he offered, crumbs falling down my throat, into my stomach to "satisfy my hunger" (saying this because it is nearly impossible to fill my hunger to the most I can have in this situation). I cannot keep up with his generosity and I couldn't thank him more than enough. I was still starving however without wanting to have greed in me, I refused to ask for more. With a small amount of food reinvingorating my energy, I was able to think properly. Standing up onto my feet, we walked till we found a big tree to take shelter in, for a while. The sun was shining high with dazzling light, it felt like it's been so long ever since I've been exposed in the sun. I sighed, feeling exuberant. We were silent for a while until he introduced himself as "Dave".
