Ten minutes later, just as we were about to head out, we heard a knock on the door. " Anybody home? " A voice rang outside.

I swiftly opened the door to find Carl and Riley, our next-door neighbours standing there. On the other hand, our other side neighbors never really introduced themselves, and now when I think about it, I haven't even seen them all that regularly.

Carl and Riley were a boisterous but sweet duo. They were pretty simple but that did not stop them from being extremely impulsive and in general what they called it, " having the time of their lives! "

" Hey, guys! What's up? " I said as Luke joined me by my side. " You think you guys can help us out a bit? " Carl asked but when he noticed that we were dressed to head out, he said, " Ah, you guys going out? It'll just be five minutes, can you guys come?? " He pleaded.

I looked at Luke who shrugged in response. " Yeah, sure. Why not. " I said as Carl cheered with a fist bump in the air. " What exactly do you guys want help with? " Luke asked as we followed them out and down the stairs to the lobby of the dorm.

" Ah. That. " Riley said with a sly smile. " Tada!! " He said as he pointed to the extra couch in the lobby. " We got a couch for our room!! " Carl said proudly.

I blinked as I looked at the couch in disbelief. " You guys got a couch. For your room. " I stated. " We got a couch. For our room!! " Riley repeated enthusiastically.

" We can watch movies while chilling on the couch. And just laze around here in general. It's going to be so awesome. You guys can come and hang out when we have movie nights!! " Carl jabbered on.

" Does your room even have enough space? " Luke asked the same question that I had in mind. " Oh that. " Riley said as he looked at Carl.

" Ah yeah. Well, we were thinking of moving things around, reorienting things. We'll figure something out, don't worry about the details. " Carl said as he brushed the question aside.

Luke and I exchanged a concerned glance but didn't argue any further. Since it obviously could not fit in the elevator, we had to go for the stairs.

And after thirty minutes, several issues, and extreme gratitude at the end from Carl and Riley, we finally stepped out of the dorm.

" Manual labour. On a humid day. Right after a bath. " I sulked as I pulled my t-shirt so that it wouldn't stick to me.

" There, there. It'll be fine in a while. " Luke said reassuringly. " So how are we going? " He asked. " Oh, bus. " I said automatically.

I always took the bus everywhere since I was incapable of driving myself. " You sure? We can go in my car. " He offered.

" Wait, you drive? " I asked, it was my first time hearing of this. We always left in the morning for class at different times, so I never knew that he drove to college.

I saw Luke looking at me with the same expression, " Hold up. You don't? How do you get to class every day? " he asked.

" Bus. " I replied. " I thought you had a bike! I saw you leaning against a bike with a helmet in your hand, once in college. " He continued.

" Ahh, that's Kris's bike. " I answered, surprised that he had seen me with the bike. " The thing is I can't drive. I've not learned consistently, so I can't get my license yet. " I said as I ruffled my hair a bit.

With a sigh, his surprised face broke into a smile. " Wait here. I'll get my car then. " He said as he sprinted off, the car key that he pulled out his pocket in hand.

I ruffled my hair again and waited for him.
