The Wolf and his Moon

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Oct 16, 2022

Aadolf Cadman

The driver was already waiting for us by the time we landed, my wolf becoming more restless. He was on alarm mode, peering around carefully as if afraid to miss something.

I pressed my head with both hands to get rid of the headache he was bestowing upon me and closing my eyes, I frowned at his uncharacteristic behavior. One would expect that now when we were off the jet, he would calm down.

The fashion show was organized at Hotel Collision, it was already crowded by media trying to snap pictures and asking questions about my family and girlfriend more than about the fashion show they were here for. My HR head would be answering all their business-related queries before the opening of the show.

I had absolutely zero interest in quenching their thirst of latest celeb gossip. I made my way inside, my wolf still fidgety. Cortez stood by me after talking to the organizers.

"Liam Palvin is not here, and neither is any of his associates" he muttered.

I already knew this but it still didn't stop the clenching of my jaws. Theodore Evans might have ignored the overtaking of his associates business for now, but very soon, he would have to show up.

He will have no choice, I will make sure of it.

I signaled the HR head to start press conference as I took the files from Cortez, going through all the details of now 'Cadman Clothing' in New York.
One of my pack members will be leading this branch.

I went through the file and noted down small changes that would have to be made.

My wolf suddenly went crazy running around in my head, and howling causing a vein to throb in my forehead. He was urging me to move around the hotel but the fashion show started at that exact moment so I ignored his behavior with a shake of my head.

He is behaving very unusual today.

I was sitting in the front row at the end of ramp along with Cortez while the Media was standing at the right side the ramp telecasting live show and snapping pictures. It was a red-themed show.

Different models were walking on the ramp showing off new designs of the company. Each and every design was unique and caused the crowd to murmur their appreciation. I could hear different women's voices gushing about the designs with my werewolf hearing.

I needed this show to be a huge success. A lot depended on it.

It would help me let the crowd see this clothing company in a new light. If I am going to be in this field, then I would stop at nothing but the best. This show would be the start of it all.

Everything was going spectacularly well except my wolf who has now started whining trying to take over control. He knew that we couldn't shift around humans but it looked like he was past the point of caring about exposing ourselves.

He wanted to be free, to find something it seemed. I was about to stand up and go out for a run in order to calm him down when suddenly everything stilled.

It was as if time itself had stopped.

Nothing mattered anymore.

A girl was standing at the other end of the ramp and looking at the crowd transfixed, her eyes wide and anxious. She looked like she was about to run out of here and that thought made my wolf whine.

He had this urge to stop her, to capture her and never let her escape. The urge to look at her forever, never let her out of my sight.

Someone behind her urged her, "Walk."

She frowned, probably at that individual and then her face lit up like a kid in a candy store who got the permission to go wild with the sweets.

Her eyes now wide with mischief shining in them, her lips spread into the most stunning smile I had ever seen.

She was beautiful. Noone like I had ever seen.

She took a deep breath and started walking forward like she intended to burn the world down, stopping mid-way she twirled around in circles like the flame she was brightening everything around her.

The people behind her were whispering harshly at her asking what the hell she was doing. It was evident she didn't know the first thing about the ramp walk. But it was also crystal clear that she didn't give a single damn.

Undeterred, she walked a few more steps and did a middle leg split. She was crazy and probably more random than Chico. There was no telling what she would do next.

Standing up, she rushed towards my end of the ramp and started waving her hand while jumping like she was a celebrity performing a live show. She did a single leg twirl while spreading her hands in the titanic pose, laughing throwing her head back.

She was standing just a few inches away from me on one leg and started blowing kisses towards the crowd and my wolf growled loudly.

She shouldn't have done that. I was experiencing a new emotion. What was it about her?

The sound made her snap her head towards me in confusion, her eyes widening dramatically and she lost her footing and started to fell off the ramp.

I caught her midway. My hands wrapped around her small waist while she held onto the collar of my suit tightly, her eyes squeezed shut.

She was like an angel, her hair falling backward in smooth curls that I wanted to wrap around my hand and tug softly while trailing my finger down her exposed neck.

I wanted to feel that skin under my fingertips. She smelled divine. Perfect. Her scent was addictive. I wanted to bury my face in her neck inhaling her sweet scent. Like pomegranates and chocolate.

She opened her eyes causing everything else to fade away.

I was in a trance. Unable to look away. Trapped by them. For forever.

I was shocked by the effect they had on me. The irises were icy blue with white flecks in between like a frozen queen. She had magic in her eyes, their intensity causing a shiver to dance down my spine.

Her skin tanned and smooth making me want to caress every inch of her, with my fingers and then my lips.

I looked at her lips, pink and pouty. The lower one is a little thicker than the upper one wanting me to bite it, tug it towards me.

I don't know for how long I stood there holding her in my arms with her still latching on the collar of my suit while looking into her eyes, searching her soul.

The whispers and camera clicking sounds deviated my attention a little bit.

"Who is she? She is not a model."
'Snap'

"Why the heck is she wearing a peach dress in a red-themed fashion show?"
'Snap' 'Snap'

"Look at how desperate she is. She jumped into his arms and is clinging to him like a monkey."

"Is she his new girlfriend? They look so good together."
'Snap'

And finally my wolf's,
"Mate."

That single word resonated in my ears like a broken record and it was enough for me to snap out of my daydream. I withdrew my hands like they were burnt causing her to fall on the ground with a 'thud' sound.

She was my mate. She was the one.

I grabbed her hand and dragged her away from everyone's sight into a private room. She was staring at me with a dazed and confused expression. I was confused myself, by my emotions, by the hold that she already had over me in a few minutes.

I pushed her onto the nearest wall and yelled, "Who the fuck are you?" I was furious at her, but that didn't stop the urge to trail my hands all over her. I barely managed to control myself.

Her dazed expression turned furious, " Well, I am an amazing, awesome and intelligent ninja who belongs to the species of Homo sapiens, unfortunately. But the main thing is I am a well-mannered individual unlike you who pushes random girls into the wall causing the risk of severe physical harm."

I tightened my hold on her wrists causing her to clench her jaw but no sound escaped her lips.

The little one was stubborn. It was almost amusing to watch if I hadn't been so angry.

"I would sue you for this. It's physical assault." She threatened.

"If anything, I would be the one to sue you for ruining my fashion show with the charges that you took the money from rival companies to tarnish my reputation." I bluffed. I would never sue her.

Her eyes widened dramatically and she pouted her perfect pink lips, "But I added charm to that boring ass show."

She said in a child-like voice who wanted to be praised for their tricks.

I wanted to kiss those damn lips right then and there, lick them, bite them and suck them slowly so I pushed her forcefully against the wall such that she was facing the wall and her back was pressed against my front side.

It was not a bright idea. It gave me the perfect view of her tanned smooth skin peeking out of the backless dress.

I squeezed her hand lightly, this time causing her to release a small whine that made my wolf want to hug her, kiss her and apologize to her. I frowned, I never apologized to anyone and I won't.

"Listen Ms. Homo sapien. It will be best for you to never cross paths with me again otherwise it might be  your last mistake in this lifetime."

With that, I walked out of there with the intention of leaving New York as soon as possible, my wolf howling loudly in my head wanting to go back to his homo sapien mate.
