He seems to be fairly large, roughly 208 centimeters tall and quite built. He wears a long dark blue coat and a hood over his head. Belts strapped along his waist and large cargo pants tucked into large boots. Gloves on his hands and a mask covering the lower half of his face. His bright blue eyes glow in the dark. He stares intently as he stands up. His eyes dart to the side as he jumps off the building swiftly, hopping from roof to roof. He eventually makes his way to the more developed side of town where the buildings are much larger and there is more hustle and bustle. It is roughly one in the morning. He lands on the roof of a fairly large corner store as people and cars pass below. He leans over the edge, placing his arm on his knee, gazing onto the city.
“You know, you shouldn’t keep a girl like me waiting.”
He hears from behind. He quickly turns around to see a woman leaning against the rooftop entrance, hiding in the shadows. She steps out with side smile and her arms crossed. She stands roughly 175 centimeters tall. Dressed in an outfit similar to that of shinobi in red. Her hood over her head and a tattered scarf around her neck. She has a cloth piece covering her right eye as her shiny silver left eye stares calmly at him. A katana strapped to her lower back.
“Fullsky.” He says back.
“Watchdog.”
She says as she smiles at him. He stands up and turns to face her.
“What are you doing here?”
“Same thing as you, I presume. What? Don’t want me around anymore? Lead a girl on for over a year then just toss her to the side. And here I thought you were a gentleman.”
She says with a cocky tone in her voice as she rubs her back against his chest.
“It’s not that, just didn’t expect to see you tonight.”
“We’ve been after this guy for months. It’d be a shame if you caught him without me.”
As she says this she turns and puts her hands on his face leaning in very close. Despite her teasing, Watchdog seems unphased by her.
“Besides, I just got some information that’ll prove very useful.”
She says as she lets go and steps away from him.
“Funny, I too just got some info. Him and his gang are planning a big job.”
Fullsky stops and turns to him quickly, pouting.
“Main, I wanted to say it!”
“Snooze you lose.”
He opens his hand with his palm pointed upward. A holographic projection comes out of his gloves’ fingertips.
“They’re looking for bigger tech. Things Ito grade.”
“Industrial?” She asks.
“Not just that. They’ve also been looking into more technical and fine tuned machines. Containment cells, scanners.”
“So not just to blow something up. They’re doing something specific...” She thinks for a moment. “They’re going after the facility next, aren’t they?”
“I don’t know yet. But from the looks of what they’re trying to get ahold of, that is the best bet. Did your info cover anything else?”
He asks while turning off the projection. Fullsky just crosses her arms and leans a bit.
“Nope, you just about covered it. Although, one of his executives should be barreling around the corner with a truckload of goods right about… now.”
As she says this with a smirk, a large white delivery truck comes screeching fast around the corner of the building on the road below. Fullsky looks at Watchdog and smiles as she walks backwards to the ledge.
“Try and keep up, yeah?”
As the words leave her lips, two large black wings that look like they’re made of a smooth tar appear out of her back. They look a bit tattered but work extremely well as this is just how they appear. She then hops backwards off the building and takes flight, chasing after the truck. Watchdog rolls his eyes then takes a couple steps back before dashing forward and jumping from the building onto the next, following the truck below. As Fullsky flies above, she manages to land on the top of the truck. Watchdog notices two other compact cars coming up fast filled with a total of 4 people, two per car, each with guns. He puts his finger to his ear as he uses an earpiece to talk to Fullsky.
“You’ve got two cars tailing. Light weapons.”
She looks back as one of the criminals leans out the window and fires a couple shots at her. She quickly blocks the bullets with her wing.
“Noted. Lend me a hand?”
“On it.”
He responds quickly. As he’s running and jumping across buildings, he lands firmly on the edge of one building then takes a leap off of it over the street. He flies through the air for a moment before landing on the roof of the car farthest back. He leans over the driver’s side window.
“Pull over.”
He commands with a deeper, firm voice. The driver freaks out and pulls out a gun but before he can use it, Watchdog grabs his arm, breaking the window. The driver yells which causes the shooter to come back inside the car to help. While that was happening, Fullsky makes her way towards the front of the truck. She drops her head upside down to the passenger side window.
“Hi. Oh-”
She says with a smile before noticing the driver freak out and draw her gun. She starts firing as Fullsky leans back then jumps away from the truck. As she does this, she turns back and puts her hand out and grabs the air which leaves a hand print on the truck itself. She then pulls herself back to the truck at high speed and crashes through the window, narrowly missing the passenger but kicking the driver out through the door. The passenger points her gun at Fullsky, shaking in fear as the truck barrels down the street with no direction. By this point, Peace Officers have joined the chase. Watchdog successfully managed to beat both criminals in the back car and slams on the brakes. He quickly gets out and hops onto the back of a police car that comes zooming by as a couple officers linger behind to apprehend the criminals. As the officer car moves up, he dives at the second black car. He doesn’t quite make it all the way but his arm stretches a bit and he latches onto the trunk. The driver notices as he drags Watchdog along the road. The driver starts swerving back and forth trying to break Watchdog off by smacking him into things. Watchdog does his best to avoid any objects but gets hit by a few signs along the way.
“C’mon man..”
He groans. He manages to get onto the car and climbs to the roof. He then punches a hole through the top, stealing the passengers gun. He then flips and hangs off the drivers side before punching him across the face knocking the driver unconscious. He quickly rips the door open and slams on the brakes with his hand. As the car screeches to a halt, Watchdog gets out and so does the passenger. She looks at Watchdog for a second before putting her hands up.
“I’m just gonna…”
She gets on her knees and puts her hands behind her head, peace officers quickly rushing up to her.
“Good choice.”
He then turns and looks as the truck continues down the road. A couple officer cars keep the chase so he gives chase on foot. Back in the truck, Fullsky hops into the driver’s seat as the passenger, a very young woman not much older than 20, still has her handgun pointed at her. She looks at her as she shakes before exhaling and lowering the gun.
“Good girl.”
Fullsky says as she goes to stop the truck before being interrupted by the woman.
“W-wait! I heard that, if the truck comes to full stop before reaching our destination.. it could explode..”
She says with anxiety in her voice. Fullsky eyes her for a moment, noticing her genuine demeanor and sighs with a slightly frustrated look before smirking stressfully as the crazy situation.
“You Syndicate people sure are insane...”
The woman lowers her head.
“Fine, how about you tell me what you’re carrying in the back?”
“I don’t know… they don’t tell me anything. All they said was deliver the product. Nothing more...”
Fullsky looks at the young woman and believes her anxiety filled words but before she could say anything else, a sliding door opens from the back and a bigger man comes through putting Fullsky in a choke hold. The truck swerves as she is no longer in control.
“Can you drive this thing?!”
She chokes out as the young woman nods frantically. Fullsky smirks before throwing herself and the bigger man into the back of the truck. The young woman hops in the driver’s seat and quickly regains control. Fullsky slams the door shut quickly and stands up looking at the four large people in front of her. The back of the truck is also filled with a few crates and machines.
“Say, none of you would happen to want to, I don’t know, give up and tell me what I want to know, would you?”
She asks, rubbing her neck a little. They all stand silently for a moment looking at each other before charging her. She jumps up and grabs the bar on the roof to knock over the man in front of her with a kick. Then she spins and kicks the woman on her right, slamming her into the truck wall. After she lands, she punches another man in the face which throws him against the back doors, next to a person watching them intently. Another man then grabs Fullsky from behind and lifts her up for a moment, allowing the woman to get up and punch Fullsky in the stomach then across the face. The watcher then looks to their side and sees one of the machines on the wall in a brace. They put their arm into it and the large device wraps on their arm. It has a couple circles of machinery around the wrist and below the elbow connected via parts along the arm leading to a three fingered hand-like part. Electricity and energy starts to form around the hand. Fullsky breaks free of the man’s grasp and elbows him in the face then immediately going to punch the woman but she suddenly stops. Fullsky is frozen as energy wraps around her entire body. She can’t move at all as she begins to float in the air. The person holds their arm out as if holding Fullsky then swings their arm back causing Fullsky to be slammed against the back doors of the truck hard. She coughs up from the impact but before she can even fall, the large metal hand grabs her by her neck and lifts her up.
“You and that little boytoy of yours better keep your noses out of our business. You’re in way over your heads.”
They say menacingly as Fullsky grits her teeth. The energy on the arm then shifts from a blue to a red as Fullsky’s eye widens. Watchdog starts to catch up to the truck, reaching out for the door as the entire back side of the truck is blow to pieces from a massive force wave exploding outward. Fullsky is sent flying towards him as he too is knocked back by the force. They both go crashing into the street, tumbling across the ground. Frontier stands tall and watches as the truck gets away. Fullsky and Watchdog slowly get up, groaning a little.
“Fullsky! Are you alright?”
He comes over to her.
“Yeah… I’m okay.”
She coughs out some blood into her hand before being helped up by Watchdog. As some officers continue the chase, others stop and begin cleanup. One particular officer, the Chief, approaches them out of his car.
“Fullsky, Watchdog.”
He nods to them as Watchdog nods to him, wrapping Fullsky’s arm around his neck.
“Hey Chief, it’s been a minute.”
Chief smirks a bit as he puts his hands on his hips, rubbing his hand on his mouth.
“You know I appreciate the help but I still can’t let you guys walk free. As unsanctioned heroes or peace enforcement, what you’re doing is technically illegal.”
“Yeahhh, sorry about that. Thanks for always helping us out though.”
“Hey, you’re the ones helping me out, remember?”
He says with a smile as Watchdog gives him an almost sarcastic thumbs up.
“Sure, sure. Anyway, we gotta go but I’m sure we’ll see each other again soon.”
Chief sighs and nods as Watchdog disappears with Fullsky. He looks off into the distance and shakes his head.
“Mm, mm. Man, what am I gonna do with those two?”
He says under his breath while turning and shouting directions to the rest of his unit.
Watchdog eventually gets to an open park with no one around. He stops and gently lets Fullsky go who stands on her own with a little limp.
“You sure you’re okay?”
“Aww.” She teases while stretching with a hint of pain. “Are you worried about me? Afraid I’ll die?”
She playfully presses herself close to him and boops his nose over his mask. He rolls his eyes as he grabs her wrists and pulls her hands away gently.
“Hehe, I just got the wind knocked out of me. That’s all.”
She assures him.
“Well, I’m glad you’re alright.” He says softly. “What was that?”
He asks with a concerned look, motioning back to the truck before they were blown out. Fullsky makes a frustrated look.
“I’m not.. sure. There were plenty of other crates filled with guns and other contraband I sure, but that machine… It could grab me mid air and stop me completely. Not only that but the damage it did when it repulsed us. It’s not something we should take lightly…”
She says with a serious tone. Watchdog looks down a bit with a frustrated sigh.
“Yeah… Wherever they’re hiding, whatever they’re doing, they’ve got a bigger arsenal than we thought.”
“They’re gearing up for something bigger. We’ve got to find out what.”
As they discuss in the empty park under the dead of night, elsewhere, the half broken truck pulls into a large warehouse, location unknown. The people hop out the back as Frontier follows, still attached to the machine. The young woman gets out of the driver’s seat timidly. She begins to walk away as Frontier calls to her.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
The woman is startled and looks back with fear and anxiety on her face.
“To the barracks…”
“Not yet you aren’t. You’re gonna come here and chat with me for a minute.”
The young woman thinks for a moment before reluctantly deciding to ignore her and tries to quickly walk away. As she turns, however, she is halted by the energy of the machine. Feeling as if a large hand is squeezing her, she is dragged over to Frontier and grabbed by the neck in the metal hand.
“You know he’s not going to be very pleased to hear what you did.”
“Ngh… Who are you… to make that call?..”
She chokes out. Frontier looks around as the few others there are whispering, watching them. Frontier lets her go and she drops to the floor coughing, holding her neck. Frontier leans down over her.
“Who do you think he’s going to value more? A cowering rat who can’t even do her job? Or the one who saved the entire mission?”
They say intimidatingly as the woman keeps her gaze fixed to the floor. Frontier stands up and looks at the others who have all gone quiet before walking away.
“Unload the truck. He should be here soon.”
They command as they walk away, fading into the shadows.
