Lights were off throughout the building of Xiuyan Real Estate. Amidst the dark, an office on the seventeenth floor became the sole source of radiance. A man sat in the chair behind a mahogany desk. A name plaque was placed at a corner of the desk; CEO of Xiuyan Real Estate—Chen Jinxuan.
Chen Jinxuan glanced at the dark sky from the see-through glass wall of the building and turned his gaze to his watch. It was ten.
He placed a transparent file with a signed contract in it on the desk. A sigh escaped from his lips as he loosened his tie and unbuttoned the collars of his stiffly ironed white t-shirt. He had not noticed it before, but his whole being was enveloped by the mixed scent of alcohol and his perfume. A project had just been signed this afternoon and as the usual socialising event, the representatives from the investors had to drag him to a dinner. Naturally, it included plenty of alcohol and pretty attendants from the night club.
At the age of thirty-one, Chen Jinxuan was not the type to enjoy exhausting social events. He had only one reason and it was his lover, the owner of his other soul and his refuge.
Chen Jinxuan’s smartphone lit up and a message notification popped up on the screen.
‘Is the meeting done? I will drive over and fetch you—Fang Yaowei.’
Fang Yaowei was younger by two years, and they entered the estate at the same time. Ever since they were ordinary staff, they had fancied each other’s company. After a few months of working in the same team and sharing thoughts, they decided to date. It was just a test to see whether the relationship would last long. Come to think of it, it had been six years since Fang Yaowei confessed to him in the pantry of the office. It was also the day he allowed the younger one to kiss him fervently.
How things had changed. Fang Yaowei was now the head of the finance department and Chen Jinxuan was their CEO.
Needless to say, whenever there was a financial report to be discussed, they would take a moment to cuddle and do more than a kiss behind the closed door of Chen Jinxuan’s office. With just a thought, Chen Jinxuan could recall the zealous love they had made in every corner of his office.
Time truly flew. To think that they had accompanied each other for six years, Chen Jinxuan scoffed as he reached for his phone. He typed some words and sent the message out before setting his phone down on his desk again.
Chen Jinxuan buttoned up his collars and fastened his tie again. After that, he combed his side-parted dark brown hair with his fingers, returning a few wild strands into the group of hair. His eyes caught the pile of folders on his desk that his assistant had arranged. On top of the stack was a never seen red folder. Chen Jinxuan cast his eyes away and put the contract file he was reading into his suitcase. He picked his suitcase up and with quick steps, he left his office. After getting on the lift and reaching the ground floor, he sauntered to the entrance.
In less than five minutes, one unit of black SUV drove in and stopped in front of him. A man in a black oversized hoodie came down from the car and approached him, opening his arms the closer their proximity was. His appearance was clean and fresh, the opposite of his age.
“Why didn’t you dry your hair properly?” Chen Jinxuan raked Fang Yaowei’s damp bangs, pushing it backward.
“I wiped it with a towel. It will dry on its own sooner or later.” Fang Yaowei set his chin on Chen Jinxuan’s shoulder, tightening their proximity. “You drank?”
“No helping it. Director Wang would not let me leave if I touched no alcohol.” Chen Jinxuan placed his forehead on Fang Yaowei’s forehead, staring into his clear eyes. “Let’s go home.”
Fang Yaowei smiled sweetly as his eyes curved into half-moons. He released Chen Jinxuan and opened up the car door for him. “It is time to go home, Cinderella!”
“If I were a character from folklore, I would be the step-mother.” Chen Jinxuan scoffed as he smoothly slid into the car.
Fang Yaowei shut the door and ran to the driver’s seat. “Why?”
“How many of the employees cursed at me when I sacked half of their department to save up the company’s expenditure?” Chen Jinxuan leaned his elbow by the window of the car and placed his hand on his head.
“Xuan-ge, if you are loathsome then I am too. I cut their commission fee by half. If it weren’t for their decent basic salary, who would want to work forty hours a week?” Fang Yaowei chuckled, revealing a row of neat white teeth that complemented his good looks. He spun the wheel and led the car out of the premises.
“True. I wouldn’t want to work my ass off when the commission declines from 10% to 5%. Who would want to work under you? Whoever is still willing to work under you, they must be blind or hopeless.”
“Xuan-ge!” Fang Yaowei pouted as he threw a woeful glance at Chen Jinxuan.
Chen Jinxuan paid him no heed, smirking.
A moment of stillness filled the lavender scented car. This silence made Fang Yaowei fidget.
“Xuan-ge, tomorrow is the weekend.” Fang Yaowei said softly as he bit his lip. “Where do you want to stay for the night? Do you have any plans for the weekend?”
Chen Jinxuan fell silent.
“Xuan-ge?”
Hearing no answer, Fang Yaowei was slightly disappointed and was wondering if Chen Jinxuan was in a bad mood, but when he saw that Chen Jinxuan had fallen asleep, the disappointment vanished. Immediately, Fang Yaowei drove to his condominium.
Chen Jinxuan owned two condominiums, one of which they used as a shared residence and the one they stayed the most. Fang Yaowei had just recently bought one for himself after being pestered by his mother even though he did not think it was necessary. He consulted Chen Jinxuan before, and Chen Jinxuan casually asked him what he planned to do with all his wealth if he did not purchase any property.
Fang Yaowei knew Chen Jinxuan was not very thrifty. Chen Jinxuan was capable of earning big bucks and he was capable of enjoying his life too. Fang Yaowei, however, thought he could just stay in Chen Jinxuan’s condominium, so he absolutely thought that having a property under his name was pointless.
Not anymore.
After a thorough search for two months, he found a condominium at the top floor with a see-through glass wall. The unit had an office room which he designed identical to his office in Xiuyan Estate. Whenever he and Chen Jinxuan sneaked in some unspeakable interaction in Chen Jinxuan’s office, the curtains were pulled, and the door was shut tight. Even with all that, they must make absolute silence in the room. Still, they could not do it to their hearts’ content—especially Fang Yaowei.
He had been wondering, how exciting it would be if they could do it in his office instead…
But of course, he must consider Chen Jinxuan’s reputation in the estate. They both had their shares in their company’s stocks, and they must ensure their relationship was not known, especially to the board of shareholders led by Chen Jinxuan’s father, Chen Zhuoheng.
Fang Yaowei’s condominium was just fifteen minutes away in the deserted night roads. Having parked his car in the basement, Fang Yaowei removed the seatbelt for Chen Jinxuan. The loud and crisp click roused Chen Jinxuan.
Seeing that Chen Jinxuan was waking up, Fang Yaowei maintained his position in front of Chen Jinxuan with a smile hanging on his face.
Chen Jinxuan opened his eyes only to see Fang Yaowei’s pretty face. He was slightly startled, but quickly regained his composure and smiled as he gave a peck on Fang Yaowei’s lips.
“Is this a kidnapping?” Chen Jinxuan chuckled as he scanned the foreign parking lot.
“No. This is me taking my husband to a new place for our honeymoon.” Fang Yaowei grinned, amused by his own words. “You have been busy. I haven’t shown you what it looks like.”
“Didn’t you buy this condominium just so your mother can brag about her son?” Chen Jinxuan raised a finger and poked Fang Yaowei’s nose. “Have you shown it to your mother?”
Fang Yaowei nibbled at Chen Jinxuan’s lips as he snickered. “Not yet.”
The two of them giggled as they savoured each other’s lips. A moment later, they stepped out of the car and went into the lift to the top of the building.
In the lift, Fang Yaowei ensued his advances to Chen Jinxuan. Even when the lift stopped and the doors opened, he did not stop. He slithered his hands under Chen Jinxuan’s suit as he kissed him dearly. Each of his advances was firm and yet gentle. In a few tugs, Chen Jinxuan’s attire had been disarrayed and his neat hair was jumping out of the group. Fang Yaowei knew Chen Jinxuan was tired for the day, but he had been yearning for him. Fortunately, it was the weekend. Chen Jinxuan did not have to work the next day and the day after. The two days belonged to him, Fang Yaowei’s.
Oh how torturous it was to live on the top floor. However, what was more agonising was a phone call from Chen Jinxuan’s father, Chen Zhuoheng. The ringtone broke the silence and cooled their fever right away. No matter how unwilling Fang Yaowei was, he had to part from the cuisine he had been craving for.
Chen Jinxuan pushed Fang Yaowei who was still nibbling at his lips away and slid a hand into his trousers’ pocket. He took out his phone and picked up the call.
“Jinxuan, where are you? Hongming’s director, Tang Weixia, has officially stepped down from the company’s operational activities. Her son, Tang Yi, succeeds after her now. He plans to push their plan to acquire Xiuyan Estate.”
