The True Colours of an Empire_Ch:1_Dragonborn 13
The ship is waiting for its captain. Drachma takes this opportunity to walk around the town. This time, seeing Drachma, some of the people changes their cold expressions to happy one. Their stand-offish nature is melting away too.
Drachma enters that area's famous inn Skinny Boys and notices Featherbottom dining with some feminine male workers of the establishment. The workers are laughing at his stupid jokes and pouring him some more wine as he slides some silver currencies towards them.
All the people who are dining there, are looking at him as he walks through them to the captain. "I see your time only matters for arrival and not departure, Captain Featherbottom."
The captain looks at his pocket watch to see the time. Then, placing his glass down after a mid-sip, he gets up. The workers request the feathery man to stay for some more time. He laughs as he pulls himself away from them, "I am early for the drop off of a package. Accompany me, Drachma."
The male workers now look over to the warlord and request him to pick from their menu.
"I would love to, gentlemen. But I must return to my duties now." Placing 5 silvers on the desk in clear view of the workers, "When I return, there will be more for you all to chew on." Drachma smirks as he leaves the Skinny Boys.
Featherbottom arrives at the docks but walks past his ship to a much further end of the port. Looking at the sea, he begins to make his hands glow with a faint light, reflecting on his pocket watch. After making his hands shine three times, the man places his watch back into his uniform’s pocket.
"Are you aware that you brought along a man of justice to partake in criminal activity?" Drachma questions, standing behind him.
"It's not Illegal work. With recent difficulties at travelling on the lake, many people want to steal some transportable goods. So, Khecasha has taken some major steps to prevent theft. I just happen to know the tools of the trade enough to keep a secret or two."
A small boat arrives there and drops off a crate on the wooden dock after surveying the area.
"It's a total of 24 of them, counted for. No more. No Less." Remarks Featherbottom.
The boat goes back into the water. Cracking the crate open, Featherbottom reveals its contents. The copper-coloured ores reflect the moonlight while they are being counted by Featherbottom. Then he turns towards Drachma, "Mind carrying these for me? These feathers are only good for the show."
Drachma bends down to lift the crate back to the ship.
While Drachma is away from the ship, the group chains up the slaves in the cells of the ship. Locking them properly in place, Iriel sits with them. Meadow begins cutting some fruits to eat before the voyage.
The slave sister comes up to Iriel and gives her something, "I believe you wanted this.”
