JAHN: Shit, shit, oh shit… what… what the fuck…?
[Brief silence, footsteps, panting]
JAHN: Where have you been? The farmhouse - the boy -
SCHOLZ: Kristian - you need to listen to me, we are [unintelligible rest of this sentence]. This whole thing is fucked! I followed the American agents - yes, agents! More than one! There are three, right here in town, right now! And that woman the babysitter is always with - I don’t even know who she really is! But none of it matters, anyways! Because [unintelligible two or three sentences here, ending with] - demons! Something cursed, Kristian, unholy! I followed them into the forest and I saw them, the demons -
JAHN: How drunk are you? Stop with your [unintelligible] long enough to see the real problem! Look at the farmhouse! The goddamn kid and the babysitter were inside, and the whole thing [unintelligible rest of this sentence]. Do you realize how fucked we are? The boss’s kid, Ron, the boss’s kid is dead on our watch -
SCHOLZ: Aren’t you listening to me? A demon chased me out of the fucking forest, Kristian! [Unintelligible few sentences, only clear words: evil, certain, believe, and not drunk]. We aren’t safe, we need to go right now -
JAHN: Get your hands off of me! Did you even really tail that American agent? Or were you at the bar this whole time?
SCHOLZ: Goddamn you, I haven’t touched a drop! He's here under the name Botswick. It took me a while to find him, but I did follow him! From his hotel to the beach - and you know who he was meeting with? That woman who calls the babysitter darling! She was there on the beach, waiting for him in the dark, smoking a cigarette!
JAHN: You - she - you’re not saying that she’s one of them?
SCHOLZ: I don’t think so, because she and Botswick had this [unintelligible] argument. He was angry, and holding his finger like it was injured. The only thing I could hear was Botswick telling the woman something about how he destroyed the farmhouse, and then - he drew a gun on the woman, while they were arguing. Fired it once.
JAHN: He killed her?
SCHOLZ: No… he tried, but she [unintelligible], then she punched the gun out of his hand and knocked him unconscious. She tied him up, gagged him, and left him hidden in the bushes on the beach. She said, don’t worry, you’ll forget all about this soon enough, you bastard. Then she ran off and I lost her, so I went to find the other two American agents Botswick met with - they were going into the forest… with [unintelligible, Jahn trying to interrupt] of all people, if you can believe that! So I followed them, and that’s where I saw the… the demons - demons, Kristian! Please, I’m begging you, let’s get out of here, we have to! I know what I saw!
JAHN: Right now we have bigger problems!
SCHOLZ: Than what’s coming for us? No, we don’t!
JAHN: Real problems, Ron! We can’t go until we fix this, and I know how! We kill the American agent who killed the kid, and then we take care of [unintelligible few words], too! Then we have something to tell his father when we get back! We’ll say we tried our best to save the boy, and despite our [unintelligible few words], but we at least took out the bastard who did it! The man is tied up on the beach just waiting for us, how could it be easier? Let’s go right now!
SCHOLZ: You do what you want! I’m out of here! If you’d seen what I’d seen, you [unintelligible] too! I’m going as far away from this place as possible, then requesting immediate [exfiltration? evacuation? extraction?].
JAHN: You can’t just walk away from this. You’re walking away from everything, if you do. Everything. To go back empty-handed…
SCHOLZ: I know, we’ll be ruined, but that’s better than dead! Demons or not, something terrible is happening here, I can feel it. Something - we need to - Kris, please… Just trust me. Just come with me.
JAHN: Damn you, Ron! I’ll do it all by myself! I’ll take out that agent on the beach and [unintelligible rest of this sentence]. [Unintelligible start of this sentence] - that you’re leaving me here to do it all on my own!
SCHOLZ: You’re making me leave you. You made me.

Ghost Office Case Files Transcript: Leyla and Charlie, Night of John Botswick’s Murder
Finley’s Farmhouse
(Note: combined best results from five attempted translations.)
LEYLA: [In English] Are you alright, darling?
CHARLIE: Yes, but - [In English] I’m sorry, I’m trying, but I’m so -
LEYLA: No, no, it’s okay! Don’t worry about that right now! Tell me what happened.
CHARLIE: Mom, it was so scary… after mama came over to watch me, Scholz came back to the farmhouse all [unintelligible] about something. He took Jahn into the kitchen and they talked. Mama and I listened at the door, but we could only hear Jahn say ‘Then go find out what he’s doing here’. Scholz left right after that. Jahn stayed, but he was - upset, or - I don’t know. He left after a while, too, and he told me and mama to stay inside…
LEYLA: It’s okay, sweetheart. Take a breath.
CHARLIE: Mama was scared. She told me to change out of my pajamas and into my clothes. She said we’d go to your cottage, but then she heard something - the way she hears. She told me to hide and not to come out, and right after, these people showed up - the man you warned me about, and two others. He kicked open the - the - door -
LEYLA: Oh, baby… it’s okay. It’s okay.
CHARLIE: The two people he came with took mama away, and then - then the man searched the house, found me where I was hiding… he [unintelligible] wrapped up something he took out of the well, then locked me in the [tool shed?] and took one of the tools. [Unintelligible start of this sentence] came back and started dragging me away. So I - I broke his finger, like you showed me how to do, and he let me go.
LEYLA: Really? [Laughter] I’m so proud of you!
CHARLIE: [Laughter, brief silence] I ran back into the farmhouse and hid in the [fireplace? chimney?]. The man was screaming and he chased me, but he didn’t follow me inside - and then the - the whole house fell down! The whole thing except the chimney! But the fireplace got covered up, and he couldn't see me in there, so I stayed hiding until he left...
LEYLA: [very quietly, in English] Oh, my god…
CHARLIE: I dug myself out of the [unintelligible few words], but I didn’t know what to do, I - I thought they had you, mom! The scary man told mama that [unintelligible few words], and that if she didn’t take his agents to her Tree, then he would - then he would kill you. They know about the Tree, mom.
[Brief silence]
CHARLIE: I think mama is taking the agents there by the forest path where you made her put the [spooky?] illusions, the ones to scare people away from the Tree. Rose... mama... she told the scary man, before she left - one day your demons will catch up with you. I think she’s taking them there right now, mom, and she said it so that I would tell you, and you would know where she was.
[Extended silence]
LEYLA: [In English, from here out] Okay. Okay. Let’s go, darling. Everything’s going to be alright.
CHARLIE: What are you going to do, mom?
LEYLA: I’m going to take you someplace safe. And then I’m going to save her.
[Brief silence]
LEYLA: [Very quietly] Hang in there, my darling. I'm on my way.
