Zhan Wujin-tuzai ignored the woman who asked the question and continued staring at the moon which was slowly falling to allow the sun to shine. Shui Si stood for a moment before taking the silence as a yes and sitting down as well.
“What is your name mister?” she asked but was only met with silence again. Only the sound of the liquor being poured into one’s mouth could be heard as it was early morning. Zhan Wujin-tuzai stood up and went upstairs to the room that he left Lian Wujin-ai in to make sense of everything. Shui Si went to follow but Zhan Wujin stopped on the stairs to look back at her. He eyed her for a moment his eyes becoming snake like. He scoffed and walked up the rest of the stairs he kept an eye on the woman who wanted to follow him. Knocking on the door Zhan Wujin waited for an answer from Lian Wujin-ai. A few moments passed by, and he knocked again, there was still no answer. Another few minutes passed by silence came from the room.
From the outside the Inn there was a commotion as there were over half a dozen cultivators from different sects gathering. They were preparing to ransack the place as there were two people residing in it. Shui Si walked out of the Inn running into all of the cultivators she acted a bit shocked seeing them. Fu Yang looked at the girl who had come out and smiled instantly seeing her.
“Master Shui, you have come to visit us. I’m so glad to see you it’s been so long.” Fu Yang ran up to Shui Si and grabbed ahold of her hand.
“Well! Well! This is not a welcoming. I'm so surprised to SEE SUCH A LARGE GATHERING OUT HERE!” Shui Si raised her voice a bit acting like she was happy. But her true intentions were to inform the one upstairs that there was raid getting ready to come in. Zhan Wujin looked down to the ground floor and then opened the door to his room in a rush to find that the wet clothes on Lian Yuexia was now hanging up and dry, however Lian Yuexia was nowhere to be seen. The window was wide open, and the bright light of sunshine broke the horizon shining into the room. There was a letter from Lian Yuexia for Master Long. Seeing the paper, Zhan Wujin opened it and started reading it.
Master Long,
I cannot proceed with you and have to go my separate way. By the time you have read this I will be gone, and I will most likely have already returned home. I am not who you believe I am, and I will not be forced to live in his image. I can sense you are not a horrible monster they think you are. Thank you for saving me from dying as the sacrifice but I cannot run from my responsibilities that I have abandoned. I owe you a debt and I will repay it. i bid you farewell and safe travels Zhan Xinyi Thank you
Lian Wujin-Ai
Folding up the paper nicely, Zhan Wujin put it in his sleeve and then jumped from the window. When jumping out he left claw marks on the seal as his nails grew with anger and worry. Home! Where would his home be? His home… Damn it! Lian Yuexia was already far ahead of Zhan Wujin as he left before dawn even broke the horizon. Zhan Wujin started for the top of the mountain where the Qinglianpai Sect was sitting at the top.
Lian Yuexia stood before the doors of the Qinglianpai Sect, he wanted to walk through them. But there was this feeling once he walked in that something worse would happen to Zhan Wujin. Turing towards the village Lian Yuexia looked at tree's forwards, feeling tears run down one side of his face. Wiping them away he shook his head as if to get rid of the feeling, however he looked at his hand as if trying to figure out why he was crying. Then walking through the doors Lian Yuexia didn’t look back as he walked on until he was met with the inner disciples that pointed their swords at his throat. Circling around Lian Yuexia they walked to the main hall while his eyes were kept closed. Zhan Wujin took the ribbon he used to cover his eyes and refused to give it back, always saying his eyes were like the moon. However, Lian Yuexia knew that his eyes made others feel the opposite and as if they were looking into the depths of one soul.
Walking like this for a few moments Lian Yuexia and the group that had gathered around him to hold him at sword point. They had made it to the main hall the held Madam Xue and his Sect leader stood waiting for him. Lian Yuexia bowed to the sect leader and Madam Xue.
“Sect leader, Shiniang I have come back. I apologize for leaving” Lian Yuexia greeted them with an apology. Madam Xue got up and walked up to group who were keeping Lian Yuexia still. The disciples made way for her to get through to Lian Yuexia. Xue Guanting had gotten up to see what his wife was going to do.
“You Cut-Sleeve what do you think we will accept you back with open arms. You ruined the chance to fix the seal, now you want to come back to be praised. You must be tainted by that demon god.” She went to slap him, but her husband had stopped her. It surprised her that he would stop the punishment she was going to deliver. Lian Yuexia body was about to drop down when Xue Guanting stopped him.
“You have been kneeling too long stand. Leave all of you. If Lian Wujin-ai was any threat or here to kill us he would’ve done it long ago. Come walk with me child.” Lian Yuexia jolted as he felt His sect leaders hand on his head. “You may open your eyes now. Let’s go you came to see my son did you not.” The disciples looked at their Sect leader as if he was crazy but then put away their swords. Xue Guanting took Lian Yuexia away from the group of people who had malice towards the one who was now wearing dark red. Lian Yuexia opened his eyes and looked at his master in shock.
“Sect leader are you alright? Do you have a fever? Is there any pain anywhere?” Lian Yuexia asked, trying to grab Xue Guanting’s wrist to check his pulse. But shaking off the grab Xue Guanting continued forwards getting Lian Yuexia to walk with him. Together they walked in silence to Qing Dabai’s room. The silence was like torture to Lian Yuexia who was nervous to find out what his punishment was.
However the entire walk there was nothing said nor was he ever hit. They came to Qing Dabai’s room and didn’t go inside. Instead they just stood there and looked at the door. To Xue Guanting he could see nothing but a plain door, however Lian Yuexia could see the entrance of the cave in his dream. There was an odd feeling seeing this instead of a door. Xue Guanting opened the door and waited for Lian Yuexia to walk through, but Lian Yuexia wouldn’t go through.
Xue Guanting nodded and looked at the white-haired boy as if he confirmed something he had told himself. “Lian Yuexia you see something do you not?” Snapping his head to look at his Sect leader Lian Yuexia didn’t see the cave entrance anymore. Blinking made the cave entrance go away and it was an open door.
“I… No Sect leader I didn’t see anything.” Lian Yuexia rubbed his eyes. For the past few days, he had been imagining many things. Getting the courage to walk through the door Lian Yuexia finally saw his Young Master that had been affected by demonic corruption. His face was spotted with the corruption while his arm was practically covered. Lian Yuexia could only imagine what the rest of his body was like. It made Lian Yuexia feel like he hadn’t protected his Young Master from harm and was the one that caused this to him.
“Go on Lian Yuexia go see him.” Xue Guanting reassured Lian Yuexia that he could go see Qing Dabai. Crossing the door frame Lian Yuexia could feel the demonic qi around the room it was thick and heavy, yet he couldn’t see it at all. He could only see the corruption on Qing Dabai’s body, he walked up to him noticing that there was a handprint on Qing dabai’s arm that was clear of any corruption.
Remembering when Lian Yuexia was in his dream he had grabbed Qing Dabai to take him out of the cave. Lian Yuexia wasn’t very strong and had to use Qing Dabai’s arms to drag him through the tunnels in the cave. Shaking his head Lian Yuexia didn’t think it was possible. Looking at his hand and then sitting down next to him. Taking a rag from a bowl of water, he squeezed it out and then started wiping Qing Dabai’s face and the skin he could see.
“Young Master I… I want to help you so much, but I don’t know how. I just wanted to protect you and the Sect. It was my fault I wish for your forgiveness.” Lian Yuexia bowed his head to Qing Dabai. Xue Guanting listened from outside of the doorway. How could I be so blind to see all he ever cared about was us. I am a fool Mother. Shaking his head Xue Guanting seen that Lian Yuexia was able to walk in to the room that was filled with demonic qi and was completely unaffected by it. It made him realize that Lian Yuexia had nothing but the purest of intentions towards Qing Dabai and had not once thought harm to others.
“You just wanted to help huh. How do you not harbor any ill will towards me?” he asked Lian Yuexia whose head was still bowed. Lian Yuexia looked up and turned around to face Xue Guanting. Those gray eyes that would scare Xue Guanting as it felt that they were staring into his soul.
“There is no need to hold such feeling towards the people whom I care about and took care of me. I have you, the Young Master and Shiniang to pay a debt back. Yet I have failed to protect him. I failed my young master.” The eyes that were staring at him now showed him pain, frustration and the feeling of loneliness.
“You can do something. You can save my son. Lian Yuexia you have a pure heart without a single black spot. You always thought of everyone before yourself. I have wronged you child and I wish for your forgiveness.” Xue Guanting kneeled to Lian Yuexia making him panic.
“Sect leader there is no reason for you to ask for it as I have given you it long ago. You had your reasons to be angry and upset. I accepted that and for a time I wondered why but after I wanted to grow stronger for you all.” Lian Yuexia got him to stand back up and smiled at his Sect Leader.
“Hurts… it Hurts baba.” The two looked at Qing Dabai hearing his words.
“Young Master are you awake? Qing Dabai!” Lian Yuexia rushed to his side. However, Qing Dabai’s father didn’t move because one step in would cause even more pain to his son. Feeling powerless, Xue Guanting stared at the two who were in the room.
“Child… Only you can wake him up. I can ask you wake him up please Lian Yuexia.” Xue Guanting begged from the door, his voice seemed to crack.
“How dare you ask him to help when he is the reason that child is like that. Xue Guanting have you lost your mind? Asking that Oman to save our son he will kill him.” Madam Xue had followed behind them and was listening in.
“How do can I wake him up?” Lian Yuexia looked back to his Sect leader.
“You will be vulnerable during it but you just have to pull him out of where ever he is and bring him back. you are willing to then just grab ahold of his arm.” Xue Guanting ignored his wife and Lian Yuexia nodded. Walking up to the door he nodded to Madam Xue.
“I will bring him back. Ill will because he is your son. And I have always thought of him as my friend.” Closing the door Lian Yuexia place a ward on the door to keep it from opening up. Then turned back around to his friend.
