I opened my eyes slowly and realized that I was lying in the infirmary.
"What happened? How did I get here?"
The infirmary's Artificial Intelligence notified a nurse, who approached.
“Calm down. Everything is all right. It was just an excess of stimulants."
"What? What happened?" I asked, confused.
"By analyzing your blood, you have been exaggerating the stimulants that inhibit sleep. Besides their efficiency, our body has a limit. You had doses much higher than what is allowed. You were taking four doses a day, but only one is allowed. You could have died."
I was silent because she was right. Lately, to be able to handle all the work in which I got involved, I was taking high doses of stimulants.
"How many hours did I blackout?" I asked, worried, because of the research of the virus, which should return as soon as possible.
"You meant how many days."
"What?"
"You slept for almost 3 days."
I was scared and I tried to get up. The nurse held me and made me lie down again.
"Calm down. You have been excused from all your activities until you are fully recovered and, as you still need rest, you can rest."
"But, I need to go. I was on an important mission…"
"Calm down. You have a visitor."
I immediately thought about Drinihian, but Dornnih came in.
"Hi! How are you?" he asked.
"I am fine. I was working when I blacked out. But now that I remember. You were with me, right?"
"Exactly. You blacked out in my arms. I called the emergency and they brought you here immediately. You've been sleeping for..."
"Almost 3 days. I know," I said sadly.
"You have to stop these exaggerations and start taking more care of yourself."
I bowed my head weeping:
"I need to continue my research," I said nervously.
"Keep calm. You won't need to continue your research anymore."
"What are you talking about?"
"They took that mission from you."
"What? But why?"
"They were already discredited about your abilities and, from the beginning, they were already acting in parallel on a solution. When they heard of your incident, they collected all the data that was with you."
"What the %@#@&%!" I swore, revolted.
I immediately thought about my parents and how useless it was.
"I have other news that is also not good. Your supervisor is trying to punish you at all costs, but I am acting to prevent this. I must admit that it is difficult. She has a lot of superior contacts, but I will not give up helping you. I want you to forget your worries and rest. Whatever you need, you can contact me and I will come right away. I need to go now."
I looked at Dornnih in awe. He left and soon came to my mind Drinihian. I asked the nurse to get in touch with him. She did it and he answered on a video call.
"Hello, Micah! I was going to contact you. I was worried. It was going to be 4 days since you were sleeping."
"Yeah, but I woke up. How are you? I remembered that he had sent me a message. Did you come to visit me sometime?"
"Unfortunately no. I am undergoing hard training that I cannot interrupt. When I can, I will come to you."
I was discouraged. I missed him a lot.
"We need to talk, but later."
"What do you want to talk about? You can tell me now!" I said.
"Better not. I prefer to do it personally and I also need to go. I have more training now."
I was curious about what he wanted to talk about.
"Speak now. Tell me what it is about at least."
"Later Micah! I need to go. See you! Take care!"
"It's all right. I lov…"
Before I could say, he had ended the transmission. The nurse came back.
"I will ask someone to bring you something to eat and..."
I looked to the side distracted without caring what the nurse was talking about. I saw that there was a clear jar with a very rare flower. I reached out and grab it. I smelled its sweet scent and I closed my eyes. I remembered several wonderful moments that I had already spent with Drinihian.
"He came here every day to see you," said the nurse.
"Really!" said, confused, looking at her.
"That boy who was here earlier. He was the only one who came to visit you every day. In fact, he was the only one who came to visit you. Your closest relatives were far away and committed."
I opened my eyes wide in surprise.
"I'm going. If you need something, just activate the Artificial Intelligence. Your meal is coming. Try to rest," said the nurse. After this, she left me alone.
Several things came to my mind, and I kept thinking about them, admiring the beautiful flower in my hands.
