The Hell (Arika) (Part 2)

The Hell (Arika) (Part 2)

Nov 07, 2022

When I finally fell asleep that night, I dreamed of, it's really weird to call it that, home. I have lived there for many years and have only been away for a few days and it no longer feels as safe and familiar as a home, but rather like a place you visited a long time ago. I dreamed of, I actually had to think first before I knew her names again, Sandra, my mother, and Carolin, my aunt. But now I knew that they weren't really my mother and my aunt. It's really confusing... In my dream, I hovered over them. I was only here as a spectator and couldn't influence the dream or change it or anything. Sandra ran back and forth excitedly. She seemed very worried about something. I had never seen them like this before. Carolin stood nervously in the door frame and said reassuringly: "Nothing happened to you. You know what I was like when I was her age. They will certainly come back soon." Sandra stopped and said to Carolin, "Tell me how many times Anilec has lied to you and then just disappeared. I am afraid for my children, sister! My little ones have been away for almost a week and no one knows where they are. They don't go to school, they're not with any of their friends, and there's no trace of them. Carolin, aren't you afraid for your daughter?" Carolin looked to the ground as she replied, "Yes, very much." The dream changed and I saw two donkeys fighting their way through a violent storm. Both were heavily loaded with bags and a blanket each. The front donkey looked back and shouted, "Don't worry, Nepomuk. There is a cave in front where we can find shelter from the wind and the rain." They went further and actually reached a small cave.

The second donkey, Nepomuk, I accepted, settled on the cold stone floor and complained to the first: "How far is it, Scholar? I hardly feel my legs anymore and the storm is only getting stronger!" The first, Scholar, was suddenly enveloped in gray light. When the light faded again, a man stood in his place. He wore a long brown travel coat and underneath a white shirt and white pants. The bags and blanket that Scholar had worn lay next to him. He took the blanket and spread it out on the floor. Then he messed with one of the bags and pulled out a few pieces of wood and two stones. He collected a few more stones in the cave and placed them in a circle around the wood. Then he took the two smaller stones he had taken out of his pocket and beat them against each other. The stones sprayed sparks, and I noticed that they were flints. He beat them against each other a few more times until the wood caught fire. He rummaged through one of his bags again and pulled out a small cauldron and a few leather bags. He put the boiler out briefly and then took it back in filled with water. A white swan-like bird flew into the cave and sat down on Scholar's blanket. Scholar laughed and said, "Hello Medicus. How are you doing? Glad you found us. Do you have any message for me?" The beautiful bird nodded and cleverly released a small piece of paper from its leg. He pushed the note to Medicus and then stuck his head under the right wing. Scholar put the cauldron in the fire and picked up the note. He rolled it apart and started reading. When the water started to boil, he opened one of the leather bags and dumped some of the green stuff into the cauldron and mumbled, "Hm... that's a good plan... I think this could work like this... where is the comfrey again?" He searched in another bag and pulled out another leather bag. He opened it and pulled out a plant with purple flowers and long roots. He cut off a few roots with a knife hidden in his belt and made a wrap out of them, which he put on Nepomuk's legs, saying, "Comfrey helps you with your muscle and joint pain, Nepomuk, my good friend. I hope you'll feel better tomorrow. It's not far to the clearing." He stirred a little more in the cauldron and occasionally tipped something in from his bags. Suddenly, I heard a hiss and startled in my cage. Scholar was on his way to Jael and Anilec and Sandra and Carolin were very worried about us…

Three girls with very special gifts find out they are actually adopted and discover their first adoptive families. Curious Arika is soon captured by the jealous Prince Araña, and Anilec and Jael must find a way to free Arika from his supernatural zoo.

This is the first story I've ever written (in German) I hope you like it and that I've translated everything well :)
