It's kind of crazy how trauma affects the brain
You can be totally changed
By a single moment
Some people can experience
A moment that's upsetting
And separate it from everything else
And forget about it for a while
While others hold onto it
Cling to it
Unwillingly
And it hurts
To think about it over and over
For the cogwheels of your brain
To endlessly run vivid images
Possibilities
The good
The bad
Mostly the bad
It's physically taxing
And mentally draining
And you're this way with everything
All because of a single moment
When everything stood still in time
And you forgot who you were
You forgot how to trust
And now everyone's got potential to hurt you
