He walked back over to me. “See? And no one can see me. Expect you for some reason…” he spoke, getting low as he progressed. Why could I see him? I’m Rice Morres–a real nobody if I do say so myself.
“Hmm. That’s weird. What about your parents?” I asked. He went quiet for a moment. I assumed the worst but then he spoke. “I only remember the age of 11 and everything after that. I kind of forgot my age right now, but I know I’m around 19-21. Anyway, I don’t remember having parents.” he spoke softly.
Awe. I felt kind of bad for him. Not kind of, but really. I know where my parents are, they are both living happily ever after in Hawaii. They had won the lottery for 1.535 BILLION dollars. They gave me a ton of money and left me to live on my own (for a multitude of reasons, trust me they are not bad parents) in this world.
It was a little hard at first, but I made it. I have a job and a nice two-story house that I’d like to call my forever home.
Anyways, I looked at the person. “What’s your name?” I asked. “Valentine. Valentine Vlas,” he replied. “I love that name!” I spoke. There was a moment of silence. “OH! My name! I’m sorry, hehe. My name is Rice Morres!” I spoke, holding my hand out for a shake, forgetting he can't touch people.
He looked at my hand for a moment before slowly raising his hand and slapping it in mine. “W-whoa!” he spoke, quickly snatching his hand away and backing up. “What?” I asked. “I-i’ve never felt another person before…i-it feels…you-you’re hand feels warm…” he muttered, looking embarrassed and flustered.
I laughed. “Have you been able to feel anything?” I asked. “I can feel temperatures but when it comes to actually touching things…no…” he spoke back. “Well, try touching my hair! It’s REALLY fluffy so I’m sure you’ll like it!” I spoke. He stared at me before inching forward and slowly raising his hands.
“I-It feels so…so soft!” he spoke in awe. I giggled and nodded. Valentine sighed softly as he closed his eyes and rested his head on mine. “Valentine?” I spoke. He quickly shot his head up. “H-huh?” he asked.
“Did you just fall asleep?” I snickered. He turned his head away and grunted. “Yeah…I don’t know…” he muttered, pulling his hood over his head. I covered my mouth to stop myself from laughing out rudely.
“So, do you still stay in a house?” I asked curiously. “Yes. But it’s hard though. I can’t sit on anything or touch anything so I can’t really sit or sleep on a bed…” he answered.
“Awe…so you just sleep on the floor?” I asked curiously. He sighed. “Yeah…it’s very uncomfortable,” he grunted. I laughed again and then looked at my watch. “Well, I have to get my groceries. I’ll see you around Valentine!” I spoke, turning around. As I walked, Valentine didn’t speak a word behind me.
