Valentine looked at Rice then back at the lamp. “W-wow…” was all the ‘ghost’ could say.
“So…I guess whatever I touch, you can touch?” Rice guessed. Valentine nodded slowly, as he seemed to be in a trance as he felt the lamp’s texture, caressing the object. Rice couldn’t help but watch in pure humor, snickering every few seconds.
“H-huh?” Valentine spoke, seemingly snapping out of his trance. He looked at Rice for a moment. “How long have I been touching this lamp?” he asked Rice.
“Like, 5 minutes?” Rice laughed. Valentine stuttered, utterly disappointed in himself for doing something so embarrassing. “Calm down Val. Hey, how about we gotta bed yeah? Wait, if I touch your bed maybe you’ll be able to sleep on it?” Rice said.
“Please try…I want to see what it feels like to sleep on a bed…” he sighed. Rice couldn’t help to laugh out loud.
They walked out of the room and into Valentine’s.
“Alright, so I’m going to try now. First, I’ll touch your pillow. Maybe the size of things matter?” Rice spoke, grabbing his pillow. He handed it to the other who gasped at the unexpected feeling.
“It’s so…it’s so…s-soft! Like your hair!” Valentine exclaimed, resting his head on it.
I’ve felt like I have laughed too much for one day, Rice thought to himself as he giggled softly.
Rice placed his hand on the bed and then took it off. “Try sitting on the bed now he said. Valentine slowly sat down and–
“WOAH THIS IS COOL…” he said with wide eyes, rubbing them to make sure this was real. This had to be a dream, right? It just couldn’t be real! Just couldn’t be! All this time, Valentine couldn't feel anything and now Rice comes along and he can!
Valentine slowly laid down and let out a sigh of relief. "So comfy…" he muttered. “Mkay, I’m gonna let you sleep now. I’ll see you tomorrow Val.” Rice spoke with a smile that seemed to stick with him since he met Valentine. Valentine simply nodded and hummed in response.
Rice chuckled and left the room to let Valentine get his rest.
Rice returned back to his own room and laid back in bed. He looked at the roof, thoughts clouding his already cluttered mind. “Could this be…my first friend?” he thought to himself.
The two had gotten to know each other, shared some laughs–it just had to be! It was meant to be! Finally, Rice had made a friend.
