Kit had moved back to Thailand mostly because America held way too much connection to his family and while he would miss Pat, he wanted to start over in a different country. Most of his childhood until he was at most, twelve, he remembered spending time outside with his big sister. Running around and playing in the neighborhood and taking walks into the forest that surrounded the small town he grew up in. He may have tried to get used to the bustle of cities in Florida and even Bangkok, but he was a country boy at heart and liked his space more than people. Sometimes he thought about buying land and a house in rural Thailand, but that would have to wait until he saw how his second series’ fourth book went after the publishing. In the meantime, he had settled into his place in Suphanburi.
He lived in a well off part of the Town, near apartment complexes, a mall and the nearest Police Department less than fifteen minutes away. His place was a condominium that he really liked, since it was in a quiet neighborhood and even though he rarely went outdoors, his neighbors were probably also introverted and he didn't have to interact with anyone. It had two bedrooms, one that he quickly converted into a home office, a beautiful modern kitchen and a balcony that he planned to grow some herbs on. So, he spent his days writing drafts and soon he'll be subbing for a Teacher at a nearby Kindergarten. When he did need to go out, it was usually for grocery shopping and to have some of the local cuisine he had missed in the US or if he was feeling brave, to see a movie.
Twenty five year old Kit, had been craving something spicy and didn't want to cook. So, he threw on an oversized hoodie and locked up before taking the elevator down. He walked a couple blocks, as usual, eyes flicking down to avoid meeting people's eyes and moving quickly to be as unremarkable as possible. Kit takes the time to plan what his menu is going to before he reaches the little restaurant and fumbles over himself. He sometimes hates being an inconvenience more than people that lied. Kit goes to pull out his phone as he reaches a cross walk with the cars passing by and knocks into someone hard. He dropped his phone and could clearly feel his own loss of balance. He would have fallen flat on his ass that day, if it wasn't for the man he's bumped into, gripping his waist and pulling him close.
Kit is immediately embarrassed and could feel the heat reach his ear tips. Then his eyes connect with his savior's and he's momentarily done for. The man currently holding him in his arms has a bit of a surprised look on his face and Win honestly doesn't blame him. He's still incredibly gorgeous, with golden skin and dark hair, Kit feels his hands flex as he hangs onto the feel of the man's thick biceps. What caught Kit's attention was his eyes, beautiful soulful eyes that had seen so much hurt, just like Kit. His savior graces him with a kind smile and lets go of Kit's waist slowly. Kit is pushed out of his stupor and blushes as he greets the stranger respectfully with a quick and nervous Wai. The handsome stranger chuckles.
"It's okay Nong, but are you okay?"
Kit shakes his head, "Yes, uh, sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention."
"Like I said, it's okay," Kit notices the dimples that form when he smiles gently.
"Uh, I'll be going," Kit rambles and then looks to see the crosswalk available.
He tells the stranger goodbye and goes to cross, only to be stopped by a hand on his arm. Kit frowns and looks back to the man.
"Sorry, I just," The man seems to falter with his words, which Kit is sure is new for someone like him. He's never met this man before, but he could tell that he wasn't used to doing something like this as well. "Would you mind if we walked together?"
Kit didn't know why but he hadn't minded. He’s a highly anti soccial person and doesn’t go out of his way to please other people. However, looking into this man’s eyes, he felt like he should walk with him. He should try to talk to him and maybe, get to know him a bit more.
So, they walked together, Thorn had introduced himself and so did Kit, then they walked to the restaurant that Kit had begun frequenting. Thorn was also a regular and had come to try their noodles while Kit wanted some of their spicy shrimp. They sat and talked over dinner, Kit quickly learned that Thorn worked at the nearby Police Station, he also didn't like spicy food. It was the first time in Kit's life that he had felt comfortable with another person other than Pat. Thorn had come across as a quiet soul that had probably seen his fair share of crap like Kit. He was also very attracted to Kit. By the end of their late lunch, it was nearing four in the evening.
He wasn't even aware of the time just passing by while they chatted and got along so easily. As they paid for their meals and got up to leave, Thorn faced him.
"Would you mind if I got your number, Nong Kit?"
Kit was sure he was blushing as he gave the older man his number. They left with a wave and went their own ways. By the time Kit got home he had a cute text greeting and surprisingly, he felt energetic. The next month was filled with texting back and forth for hours, sometimes late into the night, which led to them going on their first official date. Kit was so nervous back then, he had never been on a date before and sure he had one relationship before this, but that was in the US and he didn't even think that should be classified as a real relationship. What he had with Thorn was different, he felt like he could be himself with him and they even began to share some of their bad pasts with each other.
As Kit got closer to Thorn, he could tell what kind of man he was. Thorn was probably the eldest from his family and had a lot on his mind, but from what Kit got from him, was that he no longer had connection to his family. Kit guessed it was probably due to his sexuality. Not many Thai families accepted their queer children. Thorn seemed to also be the type to care a lot, even though he didn't look like the one to show it. He was the kind to give his all in any situation and put on a character for those that he didn't really want to have in his life. The more they went out together and the more time they spent with each other, the more Kit began to observe and learn to love this man. Just three months into the relationship and he had fallen in love. It was probably pathetic.
But who could blame him, Thorn was one of a kind and deserved to be loved. On their fourth date, Kit had kissed him. Terrified as he was, terrible of a kisser as he was, he did it and he didn't regret it one bit. Thorn, Kit also realized, liked to touch and grab as much as he could in the beginning of their relationship. So on that first kiss, his arm had snaked around Kit's waist and his hands touched Kit's neck, hips and waist. He seemed to want more, but held back a lot for Kit. Another reason Kit liked him so much, Thorn didn't push Kit's limits one bit. He knew how introverted Kit was and if they were in public places for too long, he'd join Kit on his little brakes, tease him with sniff kisses and hugs or give Kit space if he felt too drained.
The first time they had sex, it was six months into their relationship. Before this, Kit didn't mind their makeout sessions, but as their relationship got stronger, he wanted more and Thorn was still being a patient gentleman. As much as he loved it, he really just wanted to ride the fine specimen the had managed to pick up. So, he did just that, when Thorn had come over to Kit's place after work and had the weekend free, Kit convinced him to stay. They cuddled, watched a movie, Kit told him more about the plants that were thriving on his balcony and Thorn checked out his book collection again. When it was getting late and they were cuddling in bed, the movie that they had started, long forgotten.
Kit threw his leg over Thorn's waist and met his eyes as he said, "I wanna ride you, Thorn,"
He got what he asked for. Thorn was very gentle their first few times and gradually, the sex got more and more intense. Thorn liked control and Kit liked losing control, so their bed dynamic was fairly simple. Thorn however had taken some time to map every pleasure point on Kit and his touches became more frequent. His hands were mostly grabbing at Kit's thighs, hips and ass whenever he got the chance. Kit couldn't lie, it made him a lot more confident about his body these days. Thorn on the other hand liked whenever Kit randomly sat on him, like when Kit was just reading and decided to cuddle up beside him, pressing gentle sniff kisses. He liked whenever Kit cooked for him, even if it was American cuisine and tried to enjoy spicy food for him.
It was the small things that had gotten them so far in their relationship. Even after a year together, they still respected each other's boundaries and shared goals together. However, they weren't perfect and had their moments. Kit whenever he sunk into depression and his self esteem dropped tended to think of himself as a burden and try to push others, sometimes even Thorn, away. When he got too caught up with the thoughts in his head and the anxiety began to control him, it would be a strain on their relationship because Kit felt like he wasn't worth fighting for and that his problems were only his to deal with. Thorn didn't agree with that mindset and encouraged Kit to share whenever he felt like it was overwhelming. Thorn also had his issues. He though, was way more stubborn when it came to sharing his emotions and he pushed them down until it could break him.
Kit could cry at a cute movie, but in his current year and half of being with Thorn, Thorn hadn't shed a tear. Kit thought that it was probably another family and image thing, that Thorn had to be this stone cold, working machine. He was fierce and hardworking in every aspect of his life and upholding the image of the 'Lieutenant of the Year'. Kit understood that, this was Thailand after all and being a bisexual man in a semi open gay relationship was barely accepted. In America, Kit didn't have to worry about dating someone or his sexuality being discovered while in Thailand, his relationship was a secret to many of their coworkers. Some can be accepting, even openly so, as this was the 21st century and Thailand did promote itself as a safe haven for the LGBTQIA+ Community, however there was still the chance of losing your job and the respect of peers if they ever decided to reveal their relationship or even worse things could happen.
Kit wanted that freedom though, there were places on Thailand that had queer couples walking hand in hand, he'll just have to wait until he was ready enough to take that step. Especially if it was with Thorn. Nearing two years into their relationship, they begin discussing their future together on a more serious note. Thorn jokes about marriage as Kit sits on his lap, Kit just rolls his eyes. Marriage wasn't even legal in Thailand, at least for them. Kit talks about having kids though, he always wanted to adopt and give a child the happiness and love they deserve. Thorn seems indifferent on the topic of children, saying he had never thought he could have any. They move on to talking about living together. Thorn has basically been staying at Kit's condo every weekend and Kit had asked him to move in almost six months ago, but Thorn wanted to wait a bit longer.
He was probably wondering about his job but that didn’t seem to be the true case. During their 2 year Anniversary, Thorn moved in with him after he got a promotion. They celebrated quietly with a dinner date that Thorn had taken hours to cook, a movie and cuddles on the couch. Thorn even got Kit a gift which they had said not to get each other, the sneak. It was a simple inch wide, velvet black choker. Kit had gotten on a choker rave recently and had bought a set of 50 cheap chokers from Amazon. Kit loved it, it was to this day, his favorite choker and he wore it anytime they had an event. Thorn liked it because Kit liked it and that was yet another reason for Kit to love him.
Two years into their relationship and Kit had been doing well with his last book series and had gone on to publishing new books under a second pseudonym. He stayed connected with Pat in the States. Pat, his closest friend and Mentor, was awesome as usual, he called Kit sometimes monthly and other times texted and video called randomly to make sure he was eating. Kit updated him on his days and his relationship with Thorn, which just earned him a bunch of teasing. It really made him think though. He loved Thorn so much that he couldn't believe that he had found a man like this to be with. Thorn, in return, gave him his all. The small things really mattered to Kit and with Thorn, he didn't have a shortage of good memories. He wanted more though, he wanted to stay with Thorn for the rest of his life.
He wanted to wake up to Thorn's sniff kisses, his warmth being the first thing in his life. He wanted to caress his strong back and trace the intricacies of the twin tigers tattooed on his back and the joy of threading his fingers through dark hair whenever Thorn rested his head on his lap. He wanted more days of peaceful reading together, of Thorn shaking his head to spicy chicken or shrimp. He wanted the gift of Thorn's eyes turning into little happy crescents and the choir of his laughter that was so rare. He wanted to see Thorn at his most stressful and build him back up, he wanted to comfort him when he woke up with a gasp and looked around the dark room, before pulling Kit closer and whispering to himself that it was safe, that he loved Kit and he would do anything to keep him happy.
So he began bringing up the possibility of moving and living together in a quiet part of Thailand. Thorn was a bit hesitant, considering his job and moving seemed to make him extra cautious. Kit could understand that, it would be a whole new environment, not to mention they were in a very obvious relationship. As they neared their third Anniversary, Thorn actually began considering moving, as long as it was in a safe environment and he could get a job in the nearest Station. Kit was really happy about that, especially considering Thorn was willing to pack up everything in his life for him. He wanted to be absolutely sure that Thorn was comfortable with this huge decision firstly.
