“I can’t believe how quickly everything went, I mean holidays felt like it was just yesterday,” I say shocked as the realization of us starting school again feels overwhelming.

“Tell me about it, now we have to start preparing for exams and assignments,” Sasha says, you can hear how she’s dreading this just by the sound of her voice when she talks about exams or assignments.

“At least it’s our senior year” 

“Exactly, we basically rule this school now,” she says nudging my shoulder as we laugh.

“Soooo how was your first day back as a senior!” Sasha says too excitedly, I don’t blame her though, we’re basically the alphas of the school now.

“It was kinda fun I suppose but honestly I feel tired and I wanna go home and sleep” 

I forgot how draining school can be sometimes.

“Hey come on don’t look so sluggish” she nudges me in an attempt to get rid of my sleepiness as she continues to say “Plus isn’t it someone’s birthday soon!!!” in an excited much more hyped-up tone.

“Yes, yes you’re right and after today I already feel old, and tomorrow I'm turning 18!” I say nonchalantly.

"Oh what exciting times" she replies, laughing at my over-enthusiasm.
