CHAPTER 10
She is absolutely enjoying the company of the strange brown wolf who just came in uninvited inside their diner.
The wolf stared at the food in front of him, then looks at her with those adorable golden eyes of his.
She looked at him, confused and then realized that he is still a ‘were’-wolf, half-human and half-wolf.
“Do you want me to feed you?” She asked after realizing that it’s probably awkward for him to eat using his mouth, like a real actual wolf, because on the other side of the coin, he still has a human side in him.
And confirming her hunch, she took on one of the pies in her hands and propped it in front of his mouth. The wolf leaned towards her a little and ate the whole pie in one pie with his huge mouth. She watched him as he fully ate it and seemingly asked for another one because he opened his mouth again. She got to see the inside of his huge mouth.
‘So freaking adorable!’
“Is it good?” She asked, contemplating for his critic.
The wolf nodded. She grinned.
She can’t believe that she’s actually happy about making Shepherd’s pie. She might actually start liking making shepherd’s pie.
She continued to stare at the wolf after giving him the second pie.
“Why do I feel like I know you from somewhere? You feel really familiar to me.”
She definitely knows the rule of no talking to stranger. But that is what’s weird about this whole encounter, nothing feels strange about it except for the actual wolf stranger that doesn’t feel strange at all.
The wolf ate all the pies she made and she also finished eating her cake. She began cleaning up the table and putting away the trays and utensils.
The wolf quietly followed her from behind and she feels like he was watching her every action.
She finished washing the plates and other stuffs they used while the wolf sat there like the good boy that he is. She dried her hands on the clean cloth hanging on the wall by the kitchen sink and she went to the brown wolf who was still sitting quietly.
She ruffled his super soft feathery silk fur behind his ear and let herself lose her self-control on ruffling his fluffy fur. She can’t contain herself any longer.
“Haaaa…” She sighed in delight of the softness of his silky soft and fluffy fur.
She heard a soft growl and snaps out of it. She retracted her hands.
“Uhm…Sorry… Am I making you uncomfortable? I’m really sorry. Your fur is just so soft and really feels really, really good in the hands.”
The wolf stared at her for a second before he nudged his nose to her face and rubbed the side of his snout on her face.
“Is it okay for me to touch your fur longer? Please?” She said as she looked at his golden orbs.
The brown wolf nodded and she beamed in happiness.
She slowly reached out her hand to his neck, allowing her fingers to glide along the softness his fuzz. She closed her eyes when she felt the fluffiness again. His fur feels like the feathers of small newly hatched baby ducklings, but longer. Her fingers sank onto its velvetiness.
She did not hesitate when she allowed herself to wrap her arms around his neck and let her being, melt unto it.
“Haaaaaaa…” She sighed in delight again. “Sooo soft.”
The wolf lowers himself and lies on the floor of the diner. Gosh, his body barely really fits that some of the tables were scraping slightly away. She kept her arms around him, not wanting to let go and sat on the floor.
“You know…I always envy you werewolves. You have so many things that you can do which a human like me cant.” Silvi tightened her arms around the wolf.
“You can run so fast across the forest in the speed of lightning. I always watch Calber and Antares enjoy their races with each other.” She can’t understand why, but she wanted to just rumble to this wolf about her inner thoughts. “You also have mates, someone destined to spend the rest of your life with…I’ve always been jealous of that idea ever since I learned all about what mates are in park where I was originally from.”
“Then I started dreaming that one day, I’ll have a mate of my own. I never thought that it was possible because I’m not one of you. I’m just a human born and raised by werewolves. But then, the unexpected happened.” Her hands unconsciously grabbed a fistful of his soft fur. “I got what I wished. I was mated to a werewolf.” Then her voice softens upon the bitter memory. “But then, I totally forgot that you have this so called ‘rejection’ where if you don’t want the person paired up with you, you can always reject her, and then wait for another one.”
Silvi chuckled at the memory.
“I never would have thought that I would be a mate to a werewolf, so I never imagined that I would also be rejected. They say that when a werewolf is rejected, it would feel like your heart is being ripped out of your chest. And guess what…it’s true…”
Luckily, those memories only brought little to no pain to her. A lot of time has already elapsed and she already decided to move on and forget about everything. The pain of it all. She wanted to focus in the new life ahead of her. With her newly found family.
She sighed… ”Why am I suddenly talking to you about this?” She looked at the wolf’s eyes and kissed his snout. She just couldn’t help it because wolves are just so freaking cute. Especially this one because he’s so big. That’s a lot of extra cuteness.
“One day, if you find your mate…please think it through before rejecting her. Warn her about it so she wouldn’t be too hurt when you reject her. Or better yet, don’t reject her at all. But who am I kidding, it’s not my decision.” She caressed his fur and clung unto his neck again. “As for me…I wish that I’ll never be paired up with another werewolf again. Rejections hurt so bad.” She whimpered.
After ranting all of that, she unexpectedly yawned. His soft fur is making her comfortable and drowsy. Her eyes began to feel heavier.
“You feel super nice. I can hug you all day and night.” She said and then yawned again. “Mmmm…”
Silvi was feeling very comfortable that she was slowly falling asleep while clinging to the brown mysterious wolf.
-o-o-o-
Kallean gazed at his mate who fell asleep attached to him. Her fingers sunk unto his brown furs. He released a soft growl before he gently removed himself from her hold.
He stood up and shifted back into his human form, fully clothed in his inner white polo shirt and trousers. One of the abilities of the Allaricks is that they can shift with their clothes on. Unlike other wolves who are completely naked after shifting as their clothes tears on the process.
The alpha king bents down on his mate and caressed her head.
He has finally confirmed it.
Despite his so many doubts of the truth, he forced himself to lower his pride a little and enter the diner as his wolf. He knows that Silvi will be left alone inside the diner so he took the opportunity to find the answers to his questions.
“So you were really the one I’ve been looking for.” He whispered.
Kallean carried his mate in his arms and strode out of the diner. A few of his men were waiting outside the diner. He told one of them to lock the diner and the werewolf obeyed him.
He went to his giant black stallion. Clutching his foot on the stirrup and swiftly mounted on the horse’s back. He settled his sound asleep mate on his chest with his left arm wrapped tightly around her small body while his right hand held the reins.
“Let’s go.” He commanded his troop who was also on their horses and the horses began to strut in the middle of the night, silent as they can, to conceal their presence in the area.
The scent of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla lingered in the air around him as they journeyed back to his mansion.
-o-o-o-
Siege was waiting for him outside of the mansion, in front of the giant double-door of the entrance.
“Alpha, is that her?” Siege asked.
He dismounted from the horse.
“Yes. Is her room ready?”
Siege nodded. “Yes. We all made sure that your mate will be comfortable.”
“Good.” He said and entered the mansion with Siege in front of him to lead him to his mate’s room.
Siege stopped in front of a giant double doors and the butler opened the door for him. He led himself inside the room and he walked towards the bed which Siege mentioned they prepared for his mate. He gently lays her down the soft mattress and covered her with a soft blanket.
Kallean caressed her hair and whispered to her. “If you weren’t a human, everything would have been easier.”
He sighed and left the room. Siege was waiting for him outside.
“Alpha, are you planning on rejecting the luna? I heard what you said.”
As expected from his butler. No whispers can pass through his sensitive hearing.
He faced him with no expression. “She’s a human. She can’t lead a pack.”
“But what if she can, Alpha?”
“That’s impossible. Humans are too weak. They don’t have the abilities that we wolves have. Even the weakest omega could be far stronger than her.” He said with firm.
Siege looked into the open room and to his mate who was sleeping soundly. “I saw the scars she has on her hands. I don’t think that a weak person would have those many scars.” Siege looked him. “I think the opposite of your statement sir. I think that woman was chosen for you by the moon goddes for a reason.” He said and lowered his head. “If you’ll excuse me.”
Kallean nodded his head and allowed his butler to leave.
He watched his butler’s back as he turned to the corridors while thinking about what he just said.
He shakes his head. “Siege always says the vaguest of things.”
