~ Renea Goldson ~
Excitement flew through Renea as she ran through the forest, her feet were covered in mud, grass and leaves. Her hair was a tangled mess on her head but she didn’t care only the excitement in her blood mattered at that moment. In the trees she heard branches snapping and moving as the large creatures chased after her.
She couldn't help but scream as sharp teeth invaded her vision almost immediately she felt a slobbered lick across her face as the dragon in front of her licked the dirt from her face. Laughing until her stomach hurt she tried to push the dragon off of her, however she wasn’t giving up without a fight. Renea’s echoing laughter soon caught someone else’s attention as well
“Renea what are you doing sweetie?” Sarah called out.
“I’m getting up!” Renea shouted back as the dragon finally crawled off of her.
“That’s not what I asked!” Sarah responded loudly.
“I’m playing!” Renea grinned as she began walking back towards her house.
“Oh there you are. Ready for lunch dear?”
“Yes ma’am!” A beaming grin spread across Renea’s face as she ran into the house as fast as she could run.
“Good, now leave those dragons to their own hunt,” Sarah said as she followed Renea.
As Renea ran up to the table the smell of freshly roasted meat and vegetables filled her nose. Mouth watering at the scent she pulled herself up onto the chair where she found the food was roasted beef with herbs and chopped up potatoes. Licking her lips Renea looked at the plate that Sarah had set out for her and sat down patiently waiting for Sarah to come and join her.
“Thank you for waiting my dear. Now tell me how are the dragon's doing lately?” Sarah asked with a warm smile on her face.
“They are the best! They always play with me and I got to watch them hunt too!” Renea gushed as she took a fork and began eating her food hungrily.
“Really? That sounds fun,” Sarah chuckled at Renea’s grin that spread from ear to ear.
“Yes, it is! I can’t wait to play with them more too!” Renea’s smile spread wide across her face.
As she ate she didn’t notice the worried expression that covered Sarah’s face. It wasn’t something that looked natural. In fact the Sarah’s dark eyes flickered for just a moment as she looked down at her own food. Shaking her head there was nothing to worry about. At least that’s what she continued to tell herself.
“So what are you going to do today?” Sarah asked with a forced smile on her face as she stared at Renea’s excited expression.
“Yep! We’re going to play hide and seek!” She beamed ecstatically as she finished off her bowl before jumping off of her chair.
“May I go play now?” She asked with an ecstatic smile.
“Sure thing dear,” Sarah nodded before she stood up and began to pick up the dirty dishes.
“Thank’s so much Sarah!!” Renea shouted as she ran out of the house. Unknowing of the fearful look that covered Sarah’s face. She knew that dragons were dangerous, however she also knew that they were loyal and would do anything for what they considered as theirs. That was the only reason that she ever let Renea near them after she was marked. No one wanted to be at the end of a dragon’s rage filled fury.

A long while later Renea was running through the forest in search of the dragons. She had taught them hide and seek and they were playing along. The smile across her face while she looked was brimming with happiness and joy. It was so fun to play with someone. Looking under bushes she didn’t find anything, or in the trees that she climbed in an attempt to find them. Pursing her lips she attempted to make a deep frown spread across her face, only for it to look more like a pout.
“Where are they?” She asked aloud but mostly to herself.
So she continued to wonder, however the more she searched the more a strange feeling fell upon her. Confusion filled her eyes asked she looked around trying to figure out what was wrong. Looking around she didn’t see the fall that was right behind her, she had turned around but when she turned back to walk ahead her foot slipped. Her eyes widened in terror before she let out a screech of fear.
She slid down a steep hill, bumping into rocks and branches as she tumbled down. Mud caked on her arms and her dress as she tried to stop moving. She let out another scream as she rolled to the bottom of the hill. Nearly crashing into a huge rock she cried in pain. Pain filled her legs, her arms and her sides all of which hit multiple rocks and branches on the way down the hill.
Tears welled in her eyes as she looked around in pain. Slowly pulling her leg towards herself she let out a cry from the pain in it. She had fallen down the hill that she had climbed up earlier in search of the dragons. With her hand she quickly wiped away her tears while trying to calm down.
However as much as she tried she couldn’t, she had fallen down the opposite way. She had no idea where as was, and just as she stood up to walk lightning crashed across the sky. Then she fell to the ground when she couldn't support her own weight. Slowly fear began to pulse through her as she looked around at the wide forest around her.
Soon she noticed rain begin to fall in a light sprinkle. Oh she hoped that it didn’t get any worse than this. Looking around yet again she found herself staring at a small cave like structure that was embedded into the hill that she tumbled down. Her eyes widened when she looked at the carefully placed blocks that surrounded the outside of the entrance.
Gulping she looked up to the sky and felt the rain begin to get heavier. Slowly and painfully she began to walk towards the cave or rather she crawled towards the cave if only to get out of the rain. She never liked rain, it was always getting her wet and Sarah never let her play outside when it was raining.
“Stupid rain,” She muttered to herself childishly.
As she half crawled to what seemed like a man made cave she heard another round of thunder strike through the sky harshly. A shiver ran down Renea’s back as she looked at the entrance with awe when she finally reached it. Inside was absolutely beautiful.
Multi colored crystals lined all around the walls and up around the domed ceiling. Some even laid on the ground broken into mere fragments. She let out a gasp of shock as a hand covered her mouth from the beauty. Another crash of lightning echoed through the sky and Renea let out a squeal of shock as she scurried into the cavern still aching from the pain in her leg. Once she was completely inside she fell down and shivered.
She was wet, and it was cold. At least the crystals surrounding her let off a beautiful, shimmering glow. A warm and comforting feeling filled her chest as she let out a yawn. Slowly her eyes closed, it was so nice, so peaceful. And she fell into a deep sleep. Unknown to her dark black eyes caught sight of her from outside of the cave and a warm feeling curled lightly around her.
