The soft click of a door closing.

Yumeki quickly heads back into the center of the Nexus to see Madotsuki calmly walk over with a smile.

She feels safe with you.

"Feeling better?" Yumeki asks. She nods. "Alright," he claps his hands together. "Where to now?"

Madotsuki takes a moment of thought, looking at each door for a few seconds before walking over to the indigo one with the rectangles.

Yumeki follows. The closer they get the colder it gets. They can see each others breath.

"How did you know my weakness?" Laughs Yumeki. Madotsuki gives a small giggle before reaching out and opening the door.

A rush of cold air. Blinding white. They enter.

Snow as far as the eye can see. The wind seems to calm to a gentile breeze as snowflakes gracefully fall.

What if we get lost?

"You have it easy, you can wake up and return to the Nexus. That's more of a me problem I will deal with later." Yumeki smiles fully well knowing he is avoiding the problem.

They walk, the snow crunching beneath their feet. Thank god they both wear warm outfits.

After walking for what seems like forever, Madotsuki spots something moving in the distance.

She turns to Yumeki and points in the direction of the movement.

We arn't alone.

An icy blue woman comes into view. The snow starts falling faster with the wind picking up a bit.

Yuki-onna.

Madotsuki starts walking towards the snow woman

"Wait hold on! How do you know she isn't dangerous?!" Yumeki spurts with a panic. Madotsuki just waves her hand as if to say "Trust me, I have a good feeling." Yumeki nods and follows behind.

They approach the yuki-onna. She looks at them, puzzled. Madotsuki holds out her hand to the icy blue woman. She does the same. The hand of the woman is the coldest thing Madotsuki has ever felt. As the girls shake hands, a light appears from above. The yuki-onna relaces Madotsuki's hand and reaches up into the light grabbing what seems to be an egg.

A voice echoes in the wind cold and sharp. "This is an effect, I gift it to you," the woman hands Madotsuki the egg. "Find all 24, place them in the Nexus, be free from your wakeing nightmare."

Before Yumeki can step in and ask any questions the gentle snow breeze becomes a snow storm. Madotsuki clutches the effect as a light flashes and it is absorbed into her. The wind and stow rage as Yumeki and Madotsuki go to hold on to each other for dear life. Moments later the wind stops. Yuki-onna is gone. The storm has again become a breeze.

"What the..." Yumeki is in shock. "Did you understand any of that?"

Madotsuki shrugs.

We have a goal.

"Effect... why is it called an effect? Where did it go?" Yumeki says, deep in thought.

She takes a moment to think before putting her hands together and seemingly mouthing some words. A flash of light, the snow breeze becomes more of a wind again. Where Madotsuki stands is a yuki-onna.

Effects have uses.

Yumeki's mouth drops open. His mind racing with thoughts.

Madotsuki the snow woman goes closer to Yumeki. The closer she gets the colder he gets.

"AAAH ok hold on you're gonna freeze me to death!"

Madotsuki steps away, another light flash as the snow becomes a breeze and she becomes herself.

She looks down and holds one of her arms as if to say sorry.

"No you're ok, I just was not expecting tha.t" he goes over to her. "Lets keep going."

They continue to walk though the pure white snow passing trees along the way. Eventually they come to a stop.

"Hey wait what's that?" Yumeki lifts his sunglasses and squints.

Igloos.

They both start towards the snow domes snow crunching beneath their feet. There are five. They peek into each one. Three have Nothing. One has a tall humanoid bird female looking creature who scares the both of them making them retreat as fast as they peeked inside even if it seemed peaceful. There was a bad feeling about that bird woman. The last has what looks to be an ice fishing hole but the water is pink. They enter this one fully.
