The door clicks.
“I knocked, are you hungry, you missed dinner.” Cynthia stands in the door way.
“Mom, do you know anything about any dimensional portals in GhostSpirit?” Evan asks.
Cynthia stiffens for a moment. “No? No, why?”
“Jax said something about one. It should have happened when you where living there.” Evan tilts his head a bit, little concerned. Was this a topic to say away from?
“Oh silly. No. THAT'S just a story. Jax likes those kind of things right? Its just like one those cyprid story's.” She goes over and gives her son a hug. “That's just a story.”
“Ok mom, I love you.”
They hug then Evan yawns.
“Sleep.” Cynthia says as she gently pats his head then goes to the doorway. “Want me to turn off your lights?”
“I got it, thanks though.”
She closes the door. Deep inhale, deep exhale. I hope he never has to know.
Evan sits and spins his chair from side to side trying to sort out his thoughts. There where the normal ones, the ones like “what will I draw tomorrow” or “how much money do I have so I can get that new game”. The questionable thoughts included “I hope mom's ok”, and “oh boy what if that's NOT a story then what.” The third type of thoughts negative ones, “what if when I move I cant function because life is too overwhelming, or I get omega depressed or-”
This is where it stops. This is when he takes his hat off, turns out the light, gets comfy in bed, and goes to sleep.
Two weeks later
Everything is packed in the car. Evan cant drive. Thankfully everything in town is walkable distance. He puts in a CD. Visions by Red Vox. The guitars blare as he sits with his dad, Lucas, who is pulling up a map on his phone.
“Said goodbye to mom?” He asks.
Evan nods, he is too anxious to speak. His dad understands this.
“I'm proud of you dude, next step in life. You have this covered” Lucas smiles as he starts driving.
Do I really have this covered? Evan thinks to himself. Suddenly he perks up a bit, his favorite track, or one of his favorite tracks is playing.
"Elessar, who I'd like to be,
Fallen star, good enough for me,
Valinor, place where I would flee,
Delusional, it's alright by me,"
Evan closes his eyes letting the music take his worry's and fears away.
The car drives out of range of the outskirts of SpectorCity. The drive is only a few hours.
Evan awakens to SOMONE tapping his head
Poke, poke, poke,
Pokepokepokepoke
“Gah, ok staahp,” he waves his hand at the blurry figures he sees. As he opens his eyes more he realizes,
“GUYS!!!” he jolts up forgetting the seatbelt and the fact be is in a car because he also bumps his head. “Ouch.”
“We came to help you unpack,” the vampire smiles.
“And give you a tour!” The demon half shouts excitedly.
“Stop it no this ISN'T real,” Evan unbuckles himself and tears up. “How did I get stuck with such good friends,” they all hug.
“How did we not ask each other where we lived… WE ARE ALL ROOMIES DUDE!!!” Lu shouts. A full shout this time.
“Huh??” Evan steps back, he looks at the house, he looks at his nodding friends, he looks at his dad bringing stuff into the house.
This feels strange. This cant be real. Evan thinks to himself but brushes most of the feeling away.
“Lets take a tour, shall we?”
