The Origin of Martial Arts: The Master of Origin

The Essence of Movement

The Essence of Movement

Nov 14, 2022

Now, I was well aware of this world by now. I had collected most of my thoughts as I always had good, lucid memory as well as dreams. I would often try to imagine myself with super powers and it would work sometimes. This somewhat of a skill helped me collect my thoughts pretty fast and understand my situation. Apparently I was a lazy trainee of the Martial Alliance Solider unit. Here is where young men and women were sent to train from the five main clans:  Mudang clan in Korea, Mount Hua clan in China, Koryu clan in Japan, Dhanurveda clan from India, and Kuntaw Clan in the Philippines. There seemed to be a huge spread of Martial arts across the East in this world as the maps were exactly the same as my old life with some differences in geography. The study of martial arts was the main focus of every country and peace was kept with matches between the clans. There were sects below the clans but these were just precursors to the real law and might of these lands.
The Martial Alliance was based in Rizhao Shandong here in China, as a contest was held to see where the Alliance would be held. The Mount Hua clan had won so far but kept the peace with nuetral states and free information spread as well as goods trade. This well kept community was rich with fighting knowledge from this part of the world and used martial arts as its sole military might. This was only possible because Chi or Ki existed in this world. As a result technology was slow but not without progress, however weaponry had not evolved passed the blade form. Reinforcing one's weapon with Chi/Ki was optimal in battle, then the next level was using your Chi/Ki from your body in unison with your weapon. This was known usually as sword-body-mind unity but had different names in other countries. In this world countries were called states: Korea is the Chi/Ki state, China is the Physical state, Japan is the Blade state, India is the spiritual state, and the Philippines were the movement state.
These state names were created to emphasize each original martial art that was unique to that said state. This was the bulk of my knowledge of this world, as well as other personal memories relating to the Martial Alliance. I was preoccupied with these thoughts as we lined up with the other trainees on the training gounds. The Martial Alliance had a plethora of resources using it mostly for the match events, to host nobiltiy, and to invite clans.
The Martial Alliance was the core of the society and trained all renowed martial arts masters. However, there were units with rankings and these rankings determined our housing, dining, and equipment for training. I was placed in the lowest unit and had only one ally, Wu Sun, my best friend. We trained our bodies to perfection, focusing on reflexes and strength excercises. Wu Sun was the nicest person I knew, as he was a martial artist to the core and relied on Taoism and Buddhism as his beliefs.
"Line up!", our drill instuctor yelled. I stood in my place next to Wu Sun, jarring myself to the present. " Today we will practice palm techniques." I had a recall to the moment I pushed the girl. This was helping me as I put all my energy imagining the moment. "HAAAAAH", was the echo heard thoughout the courtyard. All trainees were pushing themselves to the brink. I started to feel something. The essence of the palm movement. The redirection of energy, from the floor to the center of my palm. It was exhilarating, as I had always enjoyed physical activity, but saw it as a short term way towards progression. I pushed myself until I felt a spark ignite within me. As all the other trainees had stopped long before, and were watching with widening eyes. I had kept going and pushed until I felt a gust of wind escape my palm, pushing everyone back, and cutting into the ground greating a ravine while leaving a crack on the wall about 200 feet from where I stood. Eveyone including myself, were left in shock as we had all practiced inner ki/Chi control but had not externally manifested it.
There were two Ki/Chi arts known as the internal and external celestial arts. Internal Celestial Arts used energy to meditate and gather their Ki/Chi to create an inner core. This was what allowed all Apprentices and higher ranking individuals to manifest their Ki/Chi power internally. The inner core strengthened their bodies physically to ensure there was no damage to the said martial artist. External Celestial Arts used the power of the inner core to manifest Ki/Chi into weapons, auras, or unimaginable strength. I had lept over this boundary without many repercussions, or so I thought.
As my friend looked at me questioning"How.... did....?"All I saw was his confused face before I passed out from exhaustion.
