With a shock, Jem realized that these were Blackbeard's wife and daughter.

Blackbeard had grabbed hold of his sword and launched himself at Jem but Jack managed to pull him aside just in time. Blackbeard swung his sword at Jack then, who dived the other way to avoid being sliced in half.

Suddenly Jem realized that he was still holding the bracelet. He didn't know what got into his head, He slid the bracelet into his left arm. 

"NOOO..." screamed Blackbeard. His eyes flashed with rage. He swung his sword at Jem but Jack again pulled him to safety. Nausea had drained over Jem. He felt like throwing up. His insides were stinging. He barely noticed Blackbeard attacking him. He was dying. All he wanted was to confess to Beth and meet is friends. Then he blacked out.

When he opened his eyes, he thought everything was over. He was in his afterlife.

But there seemed something wrong about his afterlife. It still looked like Blackbeards cabin and Jack and the pirate were still fighting. Then the truth washed over him. Everything was not gone yet. 

He got up. Then he realized his insides were flowing with energy.  He could now see Blackbeard's and Jack's every step.

Then Blackbeard feinted a strike, and then punched Jack with his other hand. He went troppling backwards.

Then Blackbeard noticed Jem standing and attacked him. Jem thought he was dead meat, but somehow he dodged. Blackbeard swung again but rolled on the side. Jack had disappeared. But Jem couldn't afford to be distracted.

Blackbeard slashed and hacked at Jem, but somehow he could dodge his everymove. Blackbeard was moving much slower than before. Jem could also almost predict his next move. Then he realized that the bracelet was giving him that power. Suddenly there was a battle cry and there a few gunshots. 

Blackbeard was stronger than what Jem had expected.

As he was distracted at the gunfire, Blackbeard kicked him the chest and he was sent flying backwards, out of the cabin and into the deck. There were all his friends fighting against the pirates.

Jem got up but pain seared over his chest. The bracelet had increased Jem's speed and strength but it also doubled his pain. 

Even though everyone was fighting with all their might, there was no way they could win. Eventually they got closer forming a circular formation until their backs were touching. Only a miracle could save them. Blackbeard then got in front of the crowd and said "Time's up"
