Roughly an hour passes before both crews meet up. Apart from some grumbles out of the older members, both seem to get along well. “Better than expected.” Robin says to Mal with a shrug.
“To be fair, the majority of the hostility came from the eldest members. I mean, we are proof enough of that. A One O and mayhem member being in love with each other really goes to illustrate that point beautifully.”
Robin turns to look at Mal with a sly grin on her beet red face, “did you just say you love me?”
Realizing what he said, stumbling on his words, “well, I mean, yeah, unless you don’t, I just assumed, I kinda,”
“Oh shut up.” as she grabs him by his collar and kisses him. Whoops and hollers echo out from the crowd. Plenty of ‘about times’ and ‘took y’all long enoughs’.
Leaning away from him to look at his face, “of course I love you, I never stopped.” which puts the biggest and dumbest smile across his face.
Turning to face the crowd, “you all know why we are here. That building there is where the people responsible for attacking us operate. When you cross the Victoron family you get put in the ground!” cheers and roars erupt across the crowd except one. One single hand goes up from a small and timid looking man.
Robin sighs a deep sigh, “yes, what is it, greg?”
“So are we like not the other two no more? I’m cools with it, just wanted clarification.”
Mal looks out to everyone and says, “anyone against the family finally getting its shit together?! Show of hands, who’s against it.”
Not a single hand is raised, “now who’s for it!” in a deafening roar, all hands fly in as cheers echo out into the field.
Looking immensely proud, Robin looks at Greg, “that enough of an answer?”
He looks around then back at her, “yeah, I guess so.” he says as he shrugs.
With a slight twitch in her eye, Robin begins to explain the plan. “So, how it’s gonna run is, the magic users will buff the Tetrans and cast a combined confusion spell on the men inside, which should give the Tetrans enough time to take them out. Once done, we will work on breaking the protection wards on the inner rooms.”
Murmurs spread through-out the crowd, “yes, you heard me right. It seems one of the former One O’s betrayed us. We will deal with that when it comes.”
“We are moving now so let’s go people!”
The Magic users move around to each Tetran and cast a wide variety of protection spells. Each one, personalized to the caster. Some manifest as mana armor, some as a field around them, even one manifests and a unique spirit that floats beside them.
Once done, the casters gather in a circle. Chanting an unknown language, ‘Atte A Akar’, over and over. The wind begins to flow harder and harsher. Cold and dark, like storm winds on the sea.
Once the chanting stops, Robin walks to Mal, places her hand over his chest, speaks under her breath and a glowing mark appears on his chest. “We are down with the spell so you all should move now, before they wake up.”
With speed, the Tetrans fly over the wall but it seems completely unneeded. All the guards are completely unconscious. A moment passes and the casters rejoin them. “Huh. That seemed to work too well. I kinda assumed that the protection on the door meant they had protections on the Guards too but I guess the traitor hasn’t been here in a bit.” Robin says as she looks around.
Robin points to three casters near her, “you three come with me.” all four walk to the protected door hidden away at the back of the house. Each takes a corner and after a moment, the seal breaks.
One speaks up, “ma’am, I noticed something about the seal.”
“I know, it was my magic. That is how I know there is a traitor.”
“Not necessarily, I heard a rumor that Blacklung was selling premade spell scrolls to people.”
In both a snap of pure rage followed by calm, she says, “if that is true and there is no traitor then that’s good but the two may not be connected. Thank you for telling me, regardless. Now! You three go and rejoin the others. Mal!” she calls out.
Mal rejoins her at the door, “I saw a bit of that, everything alright.”
“We may have a big problem to deal with later but let’s focus on what’s behind this door.”
