Alister had a sinking feeling as he approached the glass doors. Tatsumi was similarly wary, and fittingly perplexed.
"Are you sure you want to do this? We don't even know who or what is at the end of that string, you know." Tatsumi asked.. turning his head to Alister, who was now reaching for the handle.
"I don't care-- I have to know." He responded, pulling the handle and stepping into the arcade. Various games lined the building, creating makeshift aisles. A cacophony of computerized sounds assaulted the ears of the pair. Tatsumi and Alister looked over at a sign to their left;
Blackwell's: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Seven days a week.
It was 11:06, according to Alister's wristwatch. Looking around the front, there was no visible desk for someone to sit at. All that sat opposite the sign was a pair of change machines. Alister began to walk his way to the back of the arcade with a brisk pace. Tatsumi followed with a decidedly slower saunter to his step. He eyed the various games lined up. The two heard a voice near the back once they were halfway through the aisle.
"Thanks for letting me borrow the phone, I think I found their number!"
"I am not letting you do this again, get the hell out of here." Another voice said in a gruff, aggressive tone. Alister slowed his pace, pulling out his deck of cards. He put a finger up to his mouth while looking at Tatsumi, before stepping out towards the desk. Alister saw what to him looked like a thin pale clown in a leather jacket, with round glasses, and an ostentatious tattoo of a black star on their face. Their hair was ghostly white.
"Heya!" Ken said, looking back at Alister with a genuine grin. Alister was taken aback by the cheery pretense of the stranger before him.
"Who are you?" Alister flatly asked.
"I'm about 87.62 percent sure that you are my other half, Alister Spade."
