Greer enjoyed the first few “at home” dates of just watching movies and such. Bee normally sitting and cuddling the boys and patting their heads for her. But now Blake was going to take her on a date. A going out one. It sounded nice but… well… she only had one dress. Did she need to wear a dress? Her only other outfit was jeans and a nice shirt. “…I’ll look stupid…” She started to put the dress up. Not realizing she had the door still open.
"What's troubling you, Princess?"
"Just... trying to pick out what to wear with Blake tonight... how nice is this date gonna probably be?"
"He hasn't told me, but this is Blake we're talking about. He's probably got something planned that he know you'll enjoy and is right in your comfort level. So you just need to wear something that you're comfortable in and you feel nice wearing..."
She looked at the dress. "Yeah but... he might like it if I look like a girl... just for a night..." She put the dress back on he bed. She went in her closet and pulled out a pair of slacks. "Maybe slacks would be ok..."
Dewi picks up the dress. "Forget about Blake for a moment. Do you like wearing this dress? Do you pretty in it? Is it comfortable?"
"Ma bought it for me in case I had to do somethin’ formalish. Or a date... she was really hoping I'd start dating more in college." She sat on the bed. "Besides I know you guys think I'm pretty but I'm really not. I just... want to look decent."
"I think you misspoke... You said we think you're pretty, but you're not. That last part should be you're really hot.... And if you don't like wearing this dress, then it's unacceptable for a date with our dark prince. I'm confiscating it and we're going to find you something better. Wearing something other than a dress doesn't make you not look like a girl. Tons of girls don't wear dresses, even on dates..."
Greer looked down. She really liked the compliments but... "I got this stuff... and I didn't mispeak." She blushed a bit. "Getting told that is weird..."
Dewi's voice is soft and caring. "Would you rather I don't correct your incorrect perspective on the matter? You are beautiful just the way you are and I hate that you can't see that... We fell in love with you, not someone who's all those things you think you lack, thus supposedly disqualifying you from being pretty..."
"I.... I dunno... just... never had someone call me pretty that meant it ‘cept my folks and grangran... but they don't really count." She'd mentioned having dated before. Not that she explained much about them.
"Well, then the boys in that little hometown of yours have no taste. If I had grown up with you, I wouldn't have been able to resist giving you compliments, even if we never dated."
Greer got up to look at what she had, distracted. Bee was already walking up and hugging Dewi around his waist with her trunk. "...hey... Dewi... you and Blake were dating before I came along. Did... you... I dunno... you guys aren't dating me... beause... you're gay right? You guys are bi or whatever...?" Her voice, body language, it all half screamed to Dewi that she had been told that before. At some point.
"Greer... Look at me...?" He didn't feel right having this conversation to the back of her head. He needed to make sure she knew that he was being truthful and sincere. It took her a moment, but she looked at him. She seemed so fragile right now. "Neither Blake nor I am gay. There's no way Blake would date me if he had a preference in gender. He's the first person I've dated that I actually felt comfortable about switching my physical appearance around... And my long list of exes attests to how little gender is taken into account with my taste in crushes..."
"Sorry... it... it was a stupid question." She walked over and carefully gave him a hug.
"It's not a stupid question if it was something you were worried about... I wish we had known to reassure you sooner, but I'll glad you finally voiced it so I could..."
She held him silently for a few mins. Bee nudged her hand before Greer spoke up. "My... last boyfriend was gay. He got mad... he thought I was an in the closet trans guy...." She held him a little tighter. "..no one was surprised he thought that."
"I mean, shying away from things associated with one's birth gender can hint to that, but it's not a clear sign. Some trans guys still like stuff that seems girly and there are definitely plenty of cis females that don't enjoy certain feminine pursuits... Maybe your ex should have acted more gay so you'd have known not to date him in the first place. I mean, if he's going to make assumptions based on stereotypes, then it makes sense that he should follow all of the stereotypes for gay guys..."
She let out a little laugh. Dewi's shirt was a little wet now. "..I..I need to finish getting ready... I still don't have an outfit."
"Then allow me to be of assistance, dear Princess... We shall find you a lovely outfit for your date with the shadow prince."
Greer nodded and looked in her closet. "I really don't have much tho... guess I should get a new shirt or two..."
"Well, if you don't have anything you like from your closet.... You're welcome to borrow from my closet anytime. Everyone else does from time to time. As my girlfriend, that permission goes double for you."
"Didn't think we were at the girlfriend stealing boyfriend clothes stage yet." She smiled a bit. "I guess I can look at least... you keep talking about this monster closet of yours"
Dewi gets up and starts towards the door. "Then, come on, I left the talisman in my room."
She walked with him. "It doesn't have to fit perfect or anything... just look nice enough for the date..."
"I'm sure we can find something you like..." They enter his room and the talisman is already on his closet door. Dewi opens the door with a flourish. "Welcome to my dragon's hoard of fashion."
Greer looks inside. "....this is a STORE Dewi."
"Now you get why I needed Sato to make me a special room for all of it... I tend to go overboard when it comes to clothes since I have the freedom to fit any size I want..."
"Can't pretend I wouldn't be the same if I had money and access to project cars..." She walked around, not knowing where to start. She instinctively started going for men's clothing.
"You know, I've got some really nice girl's clothes in your size in one of the back sections if you're interested..."
"..there's girls clothes that'll fit me...?"
"Of course. Some clothing companies are starting to realize that promoting body positivity is super in so they've gotten better at releasing clothes for all body types instead of just those that look like Barbies..."
Greer followed him and looked around. "I'm gonna have a private place to change right.... boyfriend or not I'm not ready or ou to see me in my underwear..."
Dewi looks at her. "Do you really think I would do something as low as to invite you to borrow clothes just so I can invade your privacy like that? I've got changing rooms with curtains or you can always bring the clothes back to your own room if that's not enough privacy... Your comfort is important to me so I wouldn't dream of putting you in a situation where you'd obviously be uncomfortable."
"I don't think you're low!" Small flare of her temper and she made herself calm down. He wasn't trying to do anything. And she did make it sound bad... "I just... I dunno... maybe you don't think about it because you can switch..."
"I know some people can be that scummy. After your other question earlier.... I want to make sure you know without a shadow of a doubt. Any desire I have to see that kind of thing will always be second after your comfort level. I can be even more low and underhanded than that, but your trust is worth more to me than anything I would get from pulling a stunt like that..."
Greer nodded a bit. She felt better saying it outloud. She really didn't think he would have on purpose but accidents DO happen. She started looking and smiled, finding a leather jacket. "Have a deer hide jacket at home. Ma had be leave it... was worried I'd look too country and get messed with."
"I'm sure it looks really good on you. Alas, as you do not have it with you, I will have to do with loaning you this leather jacket and imagining how nice you look in your deerhide one...."
Greer blushed again. She started looking over and found an interesting t-shirt and some leggings. "Would this be ok...?"
"Looks good, though it feels like it's missing something..."
She went to try it on and came out with her boots on. ".....you can completely see my ass in this..."
"Well, it's quite a nice tush, but I see your point..." Dewi turns and starts going through one of the racks. After a moment he turns back with a plain, garnet skirt that would hang loose halfway to her knees. "How about this? You commented earlier that you wanted to try to be a bit more girly with your outfit... This should be a good balance between what you're comfortable in and an extra dash of femininity.
"Better than my ass hanging out I guess..." She put it on and looked at herself. She had that sinking feeling in her stomach. She looked fake she knew it but... she really liked te outfit. Maybe it didn't look too stupid on her? The timer on her phone went off. "Gah... I need to go."
It takes Dewi a second to recover but he replies before she leaves. "Have fun, Princess."
